    Re: Digweed Fabric 20

Well, he's sort of changing his sound right now. Personally, I think what he's doing, while not always being right up my alley, is a welcome breath of fresh air to the progressive scene. I especially like that he's playing a more techhouse sound. "Progressive" is becoming stagnant; it's up to top DJs to push it forward.

He's going in the right direction- away from huge room trance, which has had its run. As for the mixing, well, there is no excuse...but whatever. He still the man in my book.

Listened to it a few times and it kind of grows on me,but i think it will be one of those cd's that gathers dust on the shelf.it has some quality moments though-tracks 1,3 and the last one are special

I didn't care for it at first. However, the more I listened to it the more I liked it. I agree that the flow is off a bit but overall I still enjoyed the CD. It's definitely not his best work, but I'm not disappointed either...

I wouldn't totally call this tech house, but maye after listening to bill patrick I'm spoiled

For me digweed has been on a steady decline for the last year and a half.....

I dont really enjoy his radio show at all anymore....his fabric cd was below average....and the live sets (like the one he just played from madrid) sounded average as well....

And when i saw him live at the summer tour this past summer....it was prbably my least favroite digweed performance that i have seen live.

I hope he wakes up soon and gets back to his roots....Listen to some mixes from 2001...thats the real diggers imo.

I think Digweed is trying to move forward and evolve hisd sound, but it doesn't seem to be working, he should go back to what he knows and does so well, bang out some deep dark progressive house, he is a master of his sound and should stay true to it. Just my opinion of course.

i don't think Digweed can afford to be self indulgent like that, there are a lot of good DJs out there who have been forging a sound unique to themselves, Digweed is moving into territory that is already mastered by DJs who are better at it than him, Digweed is a master of Deep & Dark progressive house, nobody can deliver the unique vibe he creates except himself, thats why he has the status he has today.

i agree about him being the all time king of evil progressive music.
im just thinking that maybe since he's been playing that sound for so long, he's grown tired of it.
i mean, he is a human. we get tired of repitition.

John is always messing around. and for the Fabric CD is just made sense. Most of those cd's are very DIFFERENT.

it really did not bother me that much. I guess i am open to new things.

Correct. I'll give them that. But in this case, unfortunately, "new and neat" is currently tech house. And tech house, as everyone that knows me already knows, is what I call "Gitmo Music." It would be a PERFECT interogation tool at Gitmo to try and break "terrorists." It would only take about 2 mins.

                                Gowd I hate tech house.
