Well it starrted off a little scary to say the least. Got the Manchester airport with all 15 of my friends, checked in, took the flight, landed in Italy. Got our luggage and walked to pasport control, went throught there no problems.... BUT THEN.... as we were about to walk out of the last door there was a security gaurd with his sniffer dog. I got through no probs as i wasn`t carrying anything but a friend of mine didn`t have so much luck. The dog was round him like a frog on heat. They took him into a private room and searched him but found nothing. How lucky was that seeing as though he had an 8th of smoke and an 8th of charlie. You should have seen his face when he came out of the room, white as snow. How they didn`t see his nervousness is beyond me.
Anyway....
First day we all got our snowboards and passes etc and made it up the mountain. Now i`ve never boarded before so i wasn`t sure how i was going to get on. For the first 4 hours or so i even found it hard to stay on my feet but i soon picked the going down on my heals quite well. Now it was time for the turns... this is when i started to hate boarding. For the next 3 hours i was on my arse more times than i care to imagine. We left the piste about 5.30 and headed straight for the sauna and jacuzzi for some well earned r and r. That night we went out on and got well and truely wankered... rolled in at 5ish or something.
Next day..
Fuck me man! i was in a all kinds of pain, i never though falling on snow would be so painfull. Anyway we headed back up the mountain but this time i decided it would be good for mine and other boarders health if i had a lesson. Picked up some good points and seemed to be making good progress with my learning. That afternoon i went out on my own and didn`t fall as much as before but it still fuckin hurt. Nightime came and we went out on the lash again... landed in bed at ridiculous o`clock.
Not sure what day it is by now, my body is not attatched to my head....
Woke up feeling like i was on deaths door so stayed in bed till miday, got up had something to eat and went out on a full day bender drinking one of the bars dry of there tequila... hit the sack at an 0`clock of which i`m not sure. :?
God knows what day it is now but the above is what seemed to happen every day. I boarded 5 days out of the 7 i was there and loved every minute of it.. even if it was painfull.
Just a few pics.
On one of the days we were lucky enough to get tickects to see Inter Milan play Porto in the champions league at the San Siro. What a mind blowing experience it was. The staduim is something you have to see to appreciate.
I gotta say two things about the Ities, they certainly know how to cook there food and there hospitality was second to none. I had a brilliant time in the Alps and would recomend it to anyone who is into boarding.
I hope that wasn`t too much of a grind to read for you all.
