    Re: Mixing prog w/ trance?

Not sure what the issue is...many comps. in 2000 / 2001 were marketed as "a mix of progressive house & trance", and this was before progressive house became (on the whole) incredibly boring (aka "PROG" or "BSPF"), and trance became VERY silly.

Look at the tracklisting for Parks & Wilson's 2000 essential mix and see what I mean:

    The Essential Mix
    Broadcast Sunday 9th April 2000, 2:00 AM
    Parks & Wilson (2 hours)

Jin Long Uen - "Bow To Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva" (Music Club)
Tilt - "The Dragon" (Hooj white label)
Science Department - "Persuasion [Dominica Mix]" (Bedrock)
Andy Ling - "Fixation [Tarrantella & Redanka Mix]" (Hooj)
    Soul Drivers - "Innerspace" (Bedrock)
    Halo Vargo - "Future" (Siesta)
Innate - "Changes [Louis Strange Remix]" (Baroque Records)
Coco Da Silva - "Cossa Noisa" (Kismet)
    Leftfield - "Snakeblood" (Hard Hands)
    BT - "Fibonocci Sequence" (Pioneer)
Steff, Pako & Fredrick - "Magic Shop [Voyager Mix]" (Quad)
    Souldriver - "Narcotic" (Bedrock)
Innate - "Changes [Tranzition Mix]" (Baroque Records)
Origin - "Wide Eyed Angel [Oliver Lieb Mix]" (Hooj)
Pete Lazonby - "Sacred Cycles [Quivver Mix]" (Hooj)
Odessi - "Moments Of Space" (Baroque Records)
Mr. Flash - "Extreme Exhilaration [Ian Wilkie Dub]" (Barracuda)
War Of The Worlds - "Eve Of The War [Tilt Remix]" (Columbia)

Extremely simple and quite easy to understand. If you're having problems then I suggest you head over to your local Church's Chicken for a nice session.

He's not from Afirca so he wouldn't be at Church's Chicken. Asshat. Go hang out with your animals.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

Gotta love the new genres that pop up in this scene every week. I've heard progressive trance thrown around a few times lately though, but it's just way to "epic" for me. Like, the breakdowns in some of those so called progressive trance songs are almost as long as other entire songs.

Just agree that there are songs you like, and songs you dont like... unless the song has the lyrics progressive house or trance in it, it's doesnt fuckin matter what its called, right?

                              In any case...

My point is that "progressive trance" is kind of an oxymoron, a fictional genre at best. It's a moniker that was used briefly to describe artists like POB, or the records that Sasha used on GU013.

My point is that I really have no clue about anything that I'm talking about in here. My father left me when I was too young to remember and my mother only worked at night and claimed that her back hurt all of the time. My friends were always coming over to see her and they'd go into her "office". They would come out smiling at me and leaving. My friends didn't even say goodbye nor did they play with me. I feel so alone.
