Closing the release another Mexican alliance, ‘Balcazar & Sordo’ remix ‘There’s No Love’, having released music with the likes of Dirt Crew, No.19 Music and Noir the pairs eminence in the industry is self-evident and they’re clearly an apt remix choice for such a style. The cut is deeply energetic with an unfathomable intensity. Digitaria & Funky Fat - You Bring Me Down [Hot Creations | HOTC020]

Holding no limits Hot Creations are back with their next release, Digitaria & Funky Fats Masochist EP a funky fusion of all things electronic, from deep house and disco to indie-pop and electro. Label head Jamie Jones met Digitaria the Brazilian song writing, electronic duo of Daniel Albinati and Daniela Caldellas while touring in Brazil.

Digitaria's first album was released in 2006 on Gigolo Records from Berlin, where they also released the smash hit Teen Years. In 2011 they dropped their second album, this time on Brazilian 3Plus Label, Emotion/Simulation. For this next release they have teamed up with fiery trio Funky Fat aka Guilherme Santoro, Thiago Guimaraes and Rafael Cury from Belo Horizonte. Together they explore a collection of groove, funk and down right disco!

Title track Masochist gets to work with electro synth lines riding over the powerful bass and sharp percussions. Oozing with groovy melodies and super funk this is an indie-pop smash hit, with resemblance to fellow Brazilian groups such as CSS.

Taking a much housier turn is Digitarias Paradise Club Mix. The garage style bassline pumps with rounded bounce and fluid movement while the soothing melodies leave a feeling of euphoria. Haunting synths permeate the outer layers, twisting this dance floor bomb for a darker edge.

Over on the B side You Bring Me Down is the second collaboration from Digitaria and Funky Fat. Soaring synths swarm the mind with grumbling electronic stabs and a true injection of funk leaving the blissful vocals to tell the story.Rounding off this fresh release is Digitarias Crazy Life. Intoxicating vocal melodies, spacey synths and rounded keys combine to make this electro dream one that will blow your mind.

      03. Shenoda - Moments (Huxley Remix) [1trax | 1TRAX066V]

1Trax's eponymous mix compilation series hits the 'Three' mark this August with a contribution from house and garage darling, Huxley. Following exceptional instalments from Matt Tolfrey and Subb-An, 1trax's compilation series has a knack of catching artists at just the right moment and 'Three' is no different.

Huxley, aka Michael Dodman, has had an outstanding 2012. Building on an already rock-solid career which has seen him release on Tsuba, Cecille and deliver countless excellent remixes, this year has seen the Hertfordshire (UK) producer/dj deliver an outright anthem in 'Let it Go' for Hypercolour alongside superb EP's for 20:20 Vision, Leftroom and Tsuba (forthcoming). His DJing abilities have seen him grace the decks the world over as well as podcasts for the likes of Fact and I-D, while winning universal press and radio support within electronic music. Much like the Hypercolour and Tsuba producer's productions, his mix here demonstrates a love for a smorgasbord of quality house and garage music while continually returning to powerful bass and prominent hooks throughout.

Opening with Huxley & Sam Russo's own, airy melodies of 'Don't Undastand', '1trax Three' quickly develops a tight groove with future-house cut 'Shots' by rising star Shenoda segueing into the classic garage vibe of Jordan Peak's imposing 'Work'. Twitchy, tweaky house from Iz & Diz is bookended by two exclusive, and sharply contrasting remixes from Huxley himself (Shenoda 'Moments' and Maya Jane Coles 'Dazed') while the deep, warehouse feel of Nyra's 'Best Of' takes us into the ample belly of '1Trax Three'.

From the mid-section of "1trax Three' we're treated to a short burst of barnstormers from Gavin Herlihy ('Get Loose') and Huxley himself ('Let it Go') before the moody, guttural tones of AND.ID ('Erotica') and Baunz ('808s Pause Tapes And Other Shit') provide some late night grit.

The final section of the mix, courtesy of Robert Owens, Nina Kraviz and Little Fritter & Zare, indulges Huxley's techier leanings before giving away to Julio Bashmore's carnivalistic remix of 'Square One' by Mosca, which brings back the party vibes in abundance. Closing out with 24hour Experience ft Lorraine Lowe's Nice'n'Ripe classic, 'Give Me That Love', '1trax Three' is a varied but cohesive mix that doesn't fail to excite and impress.

      05. Yoram - Into The Light [Outside The Box Music | OTB071]

Dutch producer Yoram returns to Eelke kleijn's Outside The Box imprint this week for his 3rd appearance on the label.

Joran Ziijlmans aka Yoram first appeared on the top Dutch imprint with his remix of Giorgos Gatzigristos' 'Natural Selection' which was released in September of 2011 and he followed that up shortly thereafter with his first EP for the label entitled 'Symphonic Cocktail' which was released in November of 2011.

'Alternating Current' is Yoram's new EP for Outside The Box and it comes with 3 brand new original tracks.

The title cut leads the EP off with a warm and meaty groove that's surrounded with subtle vocal elements, funky keys, soft but impactful stabs and a killer back room type vibe that should be perfect for those late night hours.

'Into The Night' follows with a more driving but equally bottom heavy groove. Energetic, floor friendly drums and alternating stabs lock in the deadly groove as a gradually building atmosphere creates some nice tension. Sinister vocal elements and some dark undertones carry the track through a nice transition before an energetic finale that's perfect for the dance floor.

The package is closed out with 'Submerge' which comes with a superbly shaped and incredibly groovy bottom end which has the energy levels quite high at the tracks outset. Clattering drums, soft tones and a nasally mod on the backing synth form an amazing dance floor groove while more vocal elements and hypnotic lines tease the senses throughout the climax to put a perfect cap on the EP.

Outstanding release as always from Outside The Box. Support from: Hernan Cattaneo, Kassey Voorn, Darin Epsilon, Kasey Taylor, Sezer Uysal, Martin Garcia, Mitrinique and more!

      06. Fake Truth - A Night With You (Kasall Remix) [unreleased]

Fake Truth (Azat Akhyarov from Tuimazy, Russia) is a dj, composer, photographer and professional time waster. He is addicted to music. Sometimes he likes atmospheric and lyric music, sometimes mystic and groovy. He has releases on Mistique Music.

Kasall, aka K-pax is Martin Ignacio Gil from Buenos Aires (Turdera), Argentina. His passion dates back to around the year 2003. In the beginning he was influenced by sounds of House music and its sub-genres. In 2006 he gives rise to his professional career as a producer proper. Later on, in 2007 his first release comes out on Mestiza Records. Then he gets his first Ep. edited labelled Your Voice Ep, made up of two tracks, one of them played by Hernán Cattaneo.

In 2008 he gets his first release with Baroque Records, namely My Real Life. The following years he got a great deal of releases in various labels like Barkan Connection South América, Mistique Music, London Music, Erase Records, Área Sur Records, among others. As a final point, the up-coming year, 2012, will bring him a large number of releases on some major labels.

      07. Dark Soul Project & Solar Sphere - Sunshine Night [unreleased]

Resident regular Dark Soul Project teams up with Solar Sphere. Very little information on this. The Deep Mix was charted by Hernán in August.

      08. Casa Flava - Eterna (Marcelo Vasami Remix) [Plastic Fantastic | unreleased]

Duo Olivier Berger & Stanimir T. Kolev are better known as Casa Flava, who had five EPs released on Plastic Fantastic between 2003 and 2005.

Eterna/Homa [PFT050] was originally released in April 2004 with the B-side appearing on Hernán Cattáneo's first Renaissance The Masters Series [REN11CD].

      Original release notes:

Casa Flava deliver their next instalment for Plastic Fantastic. This new offering follows their amazing debut 'De Moma De', the mighty 'Darka', and the stunning 'Mulgula' / 'Digimo'. This latest EP further confirms that these guys are pure premiership material and the tracks have already been licensed to Hernan Cattaneo's Renaissance Master Series.

Hot off the heels of the AA single 'Mulgula/Digimo', Casa Flava turn out another brilliant tune for Plastic Fantastic. Oliver Berger and Stan Kolev are onto their 4th release for the label. This is by far their most advanced production. The sounds on 'Eterna' and 'Homa' are thick and chunky with just a slight hint of beauty. It's no wonder that 'Homa' was licensed to Hernan Cattaneo's 'Renaissance Masters' compilation.

'Eterna' starts in with a nice chunky set, and some tight lazer sounds hidden deep in the background. The drums create a hypnotic groove while the bassline rolls on underneath. A vocal snip falls inside the beats and becomes another part of the percussion. Spooky synth layers float along with the groove dropping in and out of fat breaks and heavy beats. The production on this tune is stellar.

'Homa' is a late night bass heavy tune. A huge bassline engulfs the tune while chuggy drums take us on building until a break. A watery synth lies on top off the bassline, teasing it and moving into another massive build. The bassline, synth and drums peak together and drop into a solid drum kick, gated tones and nice deep stab sounds.

The production that Casa Flava has reached on this new single is phenomenal. The tones, and the grooves, even down to the drums have grown so much from their early productions. This single is nothing short of brilliant, and another great release for the always-reliable Plastic Fantastic. [April 2004]
