I really have gotten into Guy J's DJing sound lately. I agree that not much goes on in some of his sets, but that is where I think the beauty lies in his sound. Some of it is very hypnotic in a good way. I rarely hear him play many vocals at all and for most part he almost never plays anything toooooo mainroom in my opinion...discounting his own massive productions LOL.

I recommend anyone who wants to at least give him an honest listen to check out the following:

This set in particular, don't like it all,
and doesn't sound like a warm up,
sounds like a "hit hat" without end.
            very annoying.

Most people here do not like this one, whereas I keep going back and listen it on a regular basis.

I would appreciate anyone who can identify the tack at 27 minutes. The one with the vocals " Purposeful Lady, Slow Afternoon" ?
              Amazing cHooN!!!
              Cheers in advance!

I can't remember it and I've got too much new stuff to listn to at the moment .I know we all have different tastes but I am absolutely flabbergasted that anyone couldn't find melody in Guy's work. His success has little to do with Digweed, he has earn't every bit of it. This is of course my opinion , but for once I think I am on the side of a majority As far as his Djing I have seen him on 5 ocassions now and I tend to be critical. The only time I didn't think he was great was the last time I saw him and that was because the clubs sound system is shit. It was a struggle.

Wow, nothing like dredging up old debates. My opinion hasn't changed. That recent compilation of all of his remixes basically reinforced my thoughts, and julesee pretty much nails it concerning the flatness. Sure, Guy is accomplished in the studio and good at making fluid transitions, but to ignore Digweed's contribution in jumpstarting his career is akin to ignoring Oakenfold's role in helping to put Cattaneo on the map.

I probably put that the wrong way, Digweed got involved because he thought Guy was great. As always he knew a good deal when he saw one. I firmly believe Guy would have made big in any case. Hernan loves him as well.

Neither Guy or Hernan would have got the jumpstarting they did if they weren't considered to be great and that proved to be true !!
