BTW, I really really really really really wanted to go to the Pig & Dan event on Tues at Bed, and missed it. (Missed Hernan too) If anyone knows if these sets have already been posted, please advise. Cheers
Well I was going to post a review but it got a bit long winded and a bit too negative. It was nice to meet the MS folks that I did, hopefully I'll meet the ones that I didn't next year. Lots of bad planning on my part caused us to miss out on a lot of good events. I'll put together a noob guide for next year so others don't make the same mistakes I did being a first timer. Mainly book early.
In regards to the Lawler party- it was probably my favorite party of the conference. My only complaint was the lack of almost any seating and the ricockulous drink prices (16 bucks for a shot or Yeager, 8 bucks for a water ?!?!?). Great sound, a bit hot but still a great party.
I'm somewhat glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who was disappointed and that this is not the norm for the conference. There was just too many meatheads present, clubs lacking the service they should be delivering (50 bucks to get in and NO RE-ENTRY???), some resturants with shit service, rude angry people everywhere!
Maybe I'm just used to better. The manager from one of the clubs I get to play at on occasion happened to go. He commented that he'd have an empty club if they treated people that way.
I know my post probably makes it sound like I had a horrible time, but I did have a great time and will be there again next year.

next year we need to get a bigger phone list. It was defo cool hanging with the people that I did, but it seems like I met maybe a third of the people that went. Next year I want to pull a bunch of days like the Spleen party... I had the most fun just sitting around at an outdoor party with a bunch of cool dudes from [ms] while waiting for the big party later that night.
i was really let down by hernan @ spin (ra party). didn't like what he was playing and the club was trash. i had expected mr.puig to invest more in the reopening the joint...so much for wishfull thinking amongst miami politics
I thought Spin was pretty tight, except for having to grease the guy at the door with a $50 just to get in at a decent time. The club itself I thought was great, nice system, big dance floor...what more do you want? Although it did feel like the floor was going to give a couple times during Sander's set when everyone started jumping up and down, but that could have just been me. :?
Yeah, that would not have been a good scene if it did give. Hundreds of people, tons of speakers, glass from the lights and bar. Damn, I'm glad I made it out of there alive.

take it from me, this was my sixth conference, this shit never changes. if the conference wasn't in miami i would never go back, but it is the only place where you can have that caliber of talent within such a small radius. how can i not go?
Sunny is definitely a cool dude. Really nice to hang with you for part of the night man, hope you enjoyed LMR.
Thanks Joe! I did enjoy the party. We were mostly hanging out in the area with the seats. We left a bit after 3 cause Carrie was being whiny. I wish I could have stayed longer- I was having a blast just making fun of some of the guidos who were rolling their asses off. Next time we'll get a hotel within walking distance so if someone has poopy diapers they can walk to the hotel instead of ruining it for the others (god she was being a bitch!).
remoh- We really didn't even know we would end up at Lawler. We had originally decided to check out Fortier next door, but once we got inside and saw the venue we instantly walked out and next door to see Lawler and I'm so glad we did, such a great party. We'll meet up for sure next time.

Classic.
