        Release Notes:

        01. Tomas Barfod feat. Nina Kinert - Till We Die (Blond:ish Remix) [Get Physical Music | GPM195]

Since the late 90's Tomas Barfod has been on the lips of the techno, house and club scene. As a man of many talents, he has earned the respect of artists, labels and fans alike. His latest album, 'Salton Sea' (released via Friends Of Friends) featured 'Till We Die feat. Nina Kinert', we sent it out to our friends and got some amazing remixes back!

Nina's vocals haunt like ghosts in a machine, wrapped up with great bass lines and quirky percussion. Arps set an atmosphere of airy mist, while the beat picks up and moves us. This is the original mix, as heard on 'Salton Sea'.

LOPAZZ and Forever Jung (aka Philipp Jung of M.A.N.D.Y.) work together to bring you their vision of 'Till We Die'. The percussion relies on a hefty kick pumping the track along, while a dirty bass-line bumbles through the set of bells and woodblocks. An innovative approach to an already stellar track.

We've got more from the fair-haired duo Blond:ish for you. Keeping true to their reputation for deep bass-lines and heavy atmospheres, the girls deliver excellence. Playing with the sounds, the girls create a cool burner that will set the dance-floor on fire.

Andycap takes the cold atmosphere of the original and strips it down to the bones to open his remix, then laying the groove on thick as he drops the beat. This is your after-hour, home-listening or mid-set chilled killer; a perfect conclusion to this amazing release.

        Blond:ish Bio

Originally hatched in Montreal, but currently based in London, DJ's Anstascia and Vivie-Ann have established their love child globally by proving that they don't fit the quintessential stereotype. Fueled by their sharp taste-maker instincts and technical flair, Blond:ish has not only charmed the industry masses but set themselves to release on some of the most notable labels around.

In the last few years, Blond:ish has carved out a unique production recipe which focuses on the art of creating music that is organic and multi-dimensional. Provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category.

Forthcoming 2012 releases include their psychedelic influenced ‘Lovers In Limbo’ EP out on Kompakt mid April inspired by Blond:ish’s curiosity of the late 60’s musical movement, as well as a determined release schedule for Noir Music, NM2, Get Physical.

Blond:ish's innovative and quirky reputation wasn't grown on a tree but materialized in the dark trenches of Cherry nightclub in Montreal. Anyone that has attended their parties can attest that there is something very special about this underground midweek mangle. It's the winning formula of diverse freaks, organized chaos and Blond:ish's genre defying sets that has them still holding their monthly residency since 2008.

This duo rides off each other’s hefty musical knowledge and flawless technique with their diverse personas only adding to the intrigue. Anstascia’s unruly demeanor and creative spark spirals against Vivie-Ann’s scientific and geek-chic flair in a whirlwind of inspiration and contrast. The result is a force to be reckoned with, a vibe that effortlessly transcends in the studio, behind the booth and more than anything, to the dancefloor.

        02. Jemmy - Quarry Bank (Stelios Vassiloudis Remix) [Bedrock Records | Bed14Vin1]

“I’m really happy with the 21 tracks I have selected for this latest Bedrock compilation. With a mixture of Bedrock favourites and fresh new producers this album shows that Bedrock is always committed to finding the best electronic music out there.” - John Digweed

The wealth of artists involved for Bedrock 14 is truly amazing. This 2012 label compilation captures the essence of why electronic dance music is such an exciting prospect right now by showcasing amazing underground talent, both established and new.

What a dream start to what should be a highly successful career for Eagles & Butterflies. The album opens with the beautifully mellow “Kollekt”, the first of two debut tracks (the other being the equally adventurous “Stimmer”) from this new artist. Likewise, Kurtz & Bomber, an exciting collaboration between Troy Kurtz & Panic Bomber (Richard Haig) from Miami, USA debut here with the incredibly infectious vocalized “Never Sleeping”.

John Digweed’s ability to draw together an exciting array of international talent into one cohesive whole is pretty much unparalleled. “Resistance”” by Stuttgart’s Solee, shows exactly why he crosses divides and spans genres with his distinctive take on evocative melodic techno. Spain’s Paneoh (who also appeared on “Structures 2” and “Live In Cordoba”) displays all his hyper-energetic twisted brilliance on “Vetabom”, while one of Australia’s most talented and sought after music producers, Infusion’s Jamie Stevens, makes a welcome return to Bedrock (after his exceptional remix of John Digweed’s “Warung Beach”) with “Indigo”.

Rising UK star, Liverpool’s Jemmy, is given the lush remix treatment on his hypnotic “Quarry Bank” track by Greece’s Stelios Vassiloudis, whose critically acclaimed debut album, “It Is What It Is”, showed the world that variety is indeed the spice of life. So, it’s no wonder that Stelios makes three appearances on Bedrock 14, adding his wild acidic grooved “What’s That?” to the proceedings and teaming up with Florian Kruse and Nils Nurnberg as Wiretappeur for “Iridescent”, another example of this trio’s highly original and deep understanding of the power of melody.

Bedrock’s new talent is in exceptional form throughout. Canada’s Maher Daniel teams up NYC’s Nikko Gibler for the low-slung, spiralling beauty of “I’ll Wait For You”. Maxime Dangles has grown to be a key new artist in the French avant-garde electronic music community and is creating waves around the globe with his unabashed approach to proper club techno music, so its not surprise that “Unsteady Curve” is yet another example of his amazing music. Fellow rising French star, Antoine Husson (aka Electric Rescue), brings his distinctive brand of ultra-dynamic techno and sensuality to the party with an exceptional remix of John Digweed & Nick Muir’s “Raise” and his own monster creation, “Stucked Ship”.

Israeli producer Guy J has become one of the most sophisticated and emotive producers in electronic music over the last decade, with a body of work and a sphere of influence that belies relatively short time in the spotlight. With the melody-rich and emotionally charged “Mish Mash”, he shows exactly why he is one of the most inspirational artists in the world. As are Spain’s Marc Marzenit and Henry Saiz, whose “Sirens Land” explains why their complex and emotive form of electronic club music is exciting so many people right now.

So much exceptional talent is on display on Bedrock 14 and we haven’t even mentioned Germany’s Robert Babicz, whose music career already spans two decades. The mark of a true musical innovator, he continues to reveal his talent and skill as one of Europe's most essential techno producers here with another stunning creation, “Eastside”. Then there’s another Bedrock favourite, the techno tastemaker Christian Smith with “The Judgement”, showing exactly why he has operated at the top of his game for over a decade now. The chiming keys of Marco Bailey’s “Whispering Leaves” effortlessly lift the proceedings to anthem level and Quivver (aka world-renowned DJ/producer/songwriter John Graham) never fails to impress, “Fakes and Bullshit” sending out a clear message.

If you’re talking about exciting underground producers, two of the first names out of anyone’s hat should always be Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan (aka Pig & Dan) and their intense “Crazy” is surely a highlight here too. Finally, it’s fitting that John Digweed and Nick Muir, producers of the finest electronic dance music, bring the show to a close with their “Trezz Intro” interlude, since between them they have been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of club music over the years and have in many ways helped to define genres & push the boundaries further. With Bedrock 14, the label also shows that it is not resting on past laurels but always moving forward, developing in an exciting direction.

        04. Luis Bondio - Vintage Colors (Marc Poppcke Remix) [Sound Avenue | SA013]

Luis Bondio is no newcomer on Sound Avenue. He already did 2 great remixes for Yunta & Diego Poblets earlier this year. Luis has built up an impressive discography with releases on Baires, Lowbit, Light Digital, Movement Recordings, Mesmeric & soon on DAR. Berlin's Marc Poppcke who just did a remix from Lonya & Audio Junkies "Mr Nice Guy EP" returns for another excellent remix. The second and final remix comes from Silinder who is making his first appearance on Sound Avenue. The Irish producer has been showcasing his distinctly modern progressive house sound for the last several years on Perspectives, Whose Haus and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat.

        Marc Poppcke Bio.

Marc Poppcke’s life is all about music. Although he appreciates to produce tracks, loves to remix and knows that his productions are cherished, Marc is foremost a DJ. To play the decks is what he is living for. And this is what he has been doing for about a decade.

Marc originates in the rather small German town Hildesheim in the middle of the country. Growing up in the mid-90s, his major music influence was the German radio show ‘HR 3 Clubnight’. Listening to the vibes of the electronic music scene he soon became part of it. Back in 2000, he had started to be a DJ and developed a fan community, which got him official bookings in local clubs. His performances on the turntables managed him to become resident DJ at Hanover’s electronic music club ‘H.de.M.’ from 2001 until 2003. DJing at this club was an important chapter in his life: He often got to play warm-up sets for well-known artists and learned much of what characterizes his music style nowadays. From 2002 untill leaving the city he also worked in a vinyl record shop called ‘Street Sounds’ becoming an expert about what the music world kept ready. Then, the native of Hanover made his way from the middle of Germany to the metropolis of music in September 2005: In Berlin he studied at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) and graduated in 2008 as a Bachelor of Arts. On the musical side, he started to work together with Daniel Solar initiating the project ‘Solar & Poppcke’ in the summer of 2007. As production partners they already have released many tracks and remixes on labels such as ‘Diynamic’, ‘Plastic City’ or ‘Meerestief’ to name only a few. In April 2011 he finished his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts as a Master of Arts.

Now, Marc is about to break through as a solo artist and DJ in his own right. His blend of soulful, groove-laden deepness has won him an army of admirers. His solo releases and remixes for labels including ‘Freerange’, ‘Defected’, ‘Soma’, ‘Darkroom Dubs’ or ‘Stir15’ have found support from the scene's biggest names. This year, Marc will continue to spread the good word and whet the clubbers appetite by sprinkling his magic dust over remixes and productions. Playing in clubs like ‘Watergate’ or ‘Bar 25’ made him become an integral part of the Berlin club scene. By now he has had a lot of international gigs all over Europe showing his vision of electronic club music. Even more, his latest turn has been to set up his own label ‘Crossfrontier Audio’ in September 2011.

No musical boundary holds him at bay to surprise the people on the dance-floor. He is always searching for the striking impulses in club music to turn the hours on the dance-floor into special and lasting moments. He loves to play long DJ-sets benefiting from to be able to show a total range of his choice of music. His style is sometimes House, other times it’s Disco or else it’s Techno. Who cares? – Marc doesn't because it's always about the four to the floor. And whenever the crowd thinks he got his style he is already up for something else. Marc Poppcke is a DJ on his way to conquer the world’s electronic music clubs.

        05. GRG - Nova (Spada Remix) [Somebody's Story | SS016]

Brazilian producer George Gomes under the moniker GRG comes to Somebody's Story label to present our new release NOVA which includes two original mixes and a remix by Italian producer Ermanno Andrea Spadati aka SPADA., The main event here is esoteric cloudy techno , ritual shades enveloped with warm bass lines, rumble mid drums on the backside with clever glitch parties form the character of this music .Mysterious fall stuff here - but what connects all these tracks together - which is convincing and intangible and it is the focus on the manipulation of microscopic details. Inspiring, dreamy music if you want.

        Spada Bio

Hailing from Abano, Terme in Northern Italy, Ermanno Andrea Spadati is also also the label manager of Lovejet.

After the great success of his tracks released on labels seal of quality of quality like Traum, Flash, Boxer, Karateklub and Manual Music, the 2009 tour saw his musical spark reaching the clubs of Europe and the clubs over its boundaries. His tracks are regularly charted on Beatport and supported by international artists like Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Richie Hawtin, King Unique, Boys Noize, Erol Alkan, Sasha, Umek, Hernan Cattaneo, Jody Wisternoff and many more.

2010 saw his collaboration with the english singer Kirsty Hakwshaw and the next year with the indonesian Astrid Suryanto for the remixes of Dj Yellow’s album. Henry Saiz chose Spada’s tracks for the well-known compilation ‘Balance Series’ n.19, released in the summer of 2011. And the 2012 will bring many sparkling and brilliant surprises: a remix for Minilogue on Traum, a track featured on the fresh compilation of Dj Mag mixed by Florian Meindl and another one on the 10 years compilation of Boxer Sport. He also issued interviews for magazines like Dj Mag UK and Dj Mag ES, De:Bug, Raveline and Frequencies.

2011 was also a year full of inspiration, bringing Spada to approach a new musical concept oriented towards the mainstream: influenced by works of Deadmau5 and Magnetic Man, he started to work on the label Lovejet. Lovejet discovers and marks the world with a trademark of emotions and energy beats, where emotional feelings are the full range of music, creativity and artistic relationships, from sounds, to words, to graphic. The result is a sonorous and visual polyphony of electronic music world, moving to satisfy and to astonish the body and the spirit. We suggest you to keep an eye on the upcoming releases and live acts in 2012. It will be a hot and intense trip for sure.

        08. Hernán Cattáneo & Soundexile - Teleport (Pete McCarthey Unofficial Remix) [Sudbeat Music | unreleased]

As track 14 out of the 16 productions making up CD2 of the 'Parallel' Masters Series 'Teleport' drove the the club inspired 'Night' mix on to a crescendo. A real club track, its great to see another mix appear, this time from the hands of Greek talent Pete McCarthy.

        Parallel CD2 'Night' Review [DataTransmission]

"The second disc is equally as progressive and has a more direct correlation to the kind of sound that Hernán has become world-famous for. The patient, emotive flow of the overall mix is punctuated with perfectly placed energetic shifts, mini-build-ups and breakdowns and is most certainly a masterclass in constructing a DJ mix. It is about an hour into this second CD when Cattáneo’s skill is truly revealed – he shifts seamlessly from soft, euphoric, pad-led techno to a much more instructional, drum-led climax which contains hints of the hour before, while being markedly different at the same time. This is an aural paradox that is delivered with ease and shows why he and Renaissance are names held in such high regard. "

03. Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile - Teleport (David Granha remix)

04. Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile - Teleport (Victoria R remix)

Sudbeat boss Hernan Cattaneo once again teams up with his countrymen Soundexile on the label's first release of what promises to be a successful 2011. Oliverio & Baunder join forces with Hernan having already featured alongside him on 2009's "The Remixes EP" and this year's "Cripsis", as well as on the remix of M.O.D.E.'s "Circles".

Today sees the trio revisit and re-edit "Teleport", a track that in its original form, featured on Hernan's most recent edition of Renaissance's "Masters Series". Backing the refreshed original is a remix package that contains experience and youth.

UK producer King Unique, fresh from the success of his Bedrock releases, "2000 Suns" and "Vamoosh" (alongside Anthony Pappa), turns "Teleport" into a groove-lead, low-slung tech-house cut. Chopping the original's melody, King Unique allows to break up, but never take over the groove of the track.

The final two remixes on the package come courtesy of competition winners. Given the parts to what with then as they wish, and judged by Hernan himself, each winner was given the honor of seeing their mix, included on the release. David Granha takes keeps "Teleport" on a tough, but melodic, progressive path. Whereas Victoria R, hits us with a wall of sound and rib-shaking kick drum.

Henry Saiz - "Awesome! Maybe my favourite release on Sudbeat, very solid, can´t pick a favourite one, Of course really enjoyed original, Matt´s is a bomb, David´s blows your mind and victoria´s remix is beautiful and deep, congrats for an amazing release!"

Stefan Bauer (Progressive-World.at) - "Wow, what a package to end the year! Original and David Granha mixes are my favs! Awesome!"

        [Beats & Beyond Review]

New tuneage from Cattaneo and friends is always worth checking out, especially when it is backed up with beefy remixes as is the case on this one. The original mix of Teleport revolves around a sweltering progressive house groove reminiscent of artists such as Sistema and Quivver, while the breakdown presents a very nicely deformed synth modulation.

King Unique turns the tune into a more tech-house orientated swinger that's a bit darker and colder in sound and makes great use of the synths from the original, after which David Granha takes things to even dubbier heights with a very progressive tune laden with throbbing bass and ongoing synth pads. Closing the EP is Victoria R's deep and somewhat psychedelic remix, which is remarked by a great deal of synth whirls and a spacey overall vibe.

We can't say anything else than that Cattaneo and his skilled friends have delivered again. The original's ace .. but the remixes, especially King Unique's, are at least as captivating too.

        Pete McCarthey Bio

Panagiotis Tassis AKA Pete McCarthey is a Greek Electronic Music producer and DJ hailing from Athens.
Born in 1985, Pete started listening to electronic music in his early 20's and inspired by the likes of John Digweed, Sasha. Nick Muir,Hernan Cattaneo and Quivver, his production career began.

Pete's musical journey started in spectacular fashion by winning (alongside fellow Greek producer Kassey Voorn) the Guy Gerber -'Timing' remix competition for the legendary techno label Cocoon.

Following the success of the remix and armed with his own unique style consisting of bouncy bass-lines, layered stabs and hypnotic pads, Pete has showcased a consistent flow of quality original works and remixes for some of the most popular labels in house and techno such as Cocoon, Vapour, Stripped, Afterglow and Baroque. His work is supported by the heavyweights of the DJ elite, such as Sven Vath, John Digweed. Hernan Cattaneo, Markus Schluz,Nick Muir, Miss Kitten, Marc Marzenit, and many more.

Labels: Cocoon / Vapour / Stripped / Afterglow / Lowbit / Soulfire and more..
