    odd phone charges?

We just got our land line phone bill in the mail.

Apparently we called 'someone' in the UK for 20 mins on March 10th for a total charge of $50.00!

    1. We do not know ANYONE in the UK
    2. There is only 3 of us in the household for the most part, and my mother definitely did not call, I couldnt call due to a injury on my hand i couldnt even dial lol, my sister is 13 and she would NEVER do that she is too responsible.

I am calling the company 'usbi' in the morning but still isnt this awfully strange?

    any ideas?

Keep this on the down-low, but MJ's been bragging about the 20 minute phone sex session he had with you a few weeks ago.

                Re: odd phone charges?

There are those scams out there where people call you and get you to press some odd sequence of numbers claiming that they are the phone company. That opens your phone line up to those people and they can then call any place they choose. Had someone call me trying to do that once, but thankfully I had already received the email and forwarded to 20 of my closest friends, so I knew what to do...still waiting for my $50 check from Microsoft though.

The Premium XXX dialer was just one example. Here's one closer to what your experiencing.

                          and another

                          Here's how these crooks work.

The main crooks at usbi tell the worker bees to collect as much money as possible.

Naturally, nobody ever made any of the calls they are being billed for. So, the bees have to fight with people over and over again all day long. Can you imagine doing that job?

Anyway, they make their phony threats to try to scare people into sending money. But, there is really nothing they can do. Call your real phone company and refuse the charges. Pay the rest of the normal phone bill on time. But, leave the usbi part unpaid.

Just refuse to pay usbi. There's nothing they can do. They're frauds. It's no different than the bum on the corner trying to get you to buy him a beer.

They are just looking for handouts, just like the bum. Don't be foolish enough to give them one.
