During these last 10 months of riveting rooftop raving, Harmonic’s outdoor stage has seen performances by DJ legends and up-and-coming musical virtuosos alike. New friends were made, new relationships forged. New ears touched. We at Harmonic look back on a great 2012 season, and would like to thank friends, supporters, promoters, and everyone in between for all their continual contributions to all of our cause – the LA cause. We look forward to many more amazing and memorable experiences with all of you next year and beyond! We are sincerely grateful J – Jake & Ryan
As much as Harmonic would like to milk this beautiful summer season for everything it’s worth, the 2012 BASK season closing party is inevitably on the horizon, but there’s no going down without a fight. On the Saturday of Halloween weekend, October 27, returning to arms on Harmonic’s last outdoor adventure of 2012 will be scandalously dependable Dumb-Unit head honcho, JEREMY P CAULFIELD. At a time when so much techno feels like endless variations on a played-out theme, it’s heartening to know that there are still a handful of artists, labels and DJs who can combine experience, skill and forward-looking ideals in style. Jeremy P. Caulfield amply ticks all of the above boxes. As the headliner of the inaugural BASK party, he tore it down, and will certainly deliver a performance of the same magnitude for this season closing party.
As proprietor of leading neuro-minimal imprint Dumb-Unit, DJ of widely-acclaimed repute, and occasional producer of stripped-back, ominous dance floor bombs, Jeremy has emerged from his early days on the Canadian techno circuit to become a leading light of today’s underground club scene. Using his fifteen years of DJ experience as a springboard, Jeremy has utilized Dumb-Unit as a pivotal platform for the blossoming careers of artists including Butane, Lee Curtiss, Sweet N Candy, Seph, and Avatism, loosely defining a hinterland micro-scene of murky, intricate sounds that play with the darkest recesses of the mind while remaining firmly attached the propulsive drive of the dance-floor. Alongside his residency at Watergate, (in his adopted home of Berlin) Jeremy has played nearly every weekend across the globe, including gigs at renown clubs and festivals such as Fabric, Fuse, Mutek, Winter Music Conference, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Sonne Mond Sterne Festival and tours of Japan, Australia and South America. The energy in Mr. Caulfield’s music, as well as his performances is a sure shot to make you groove.
Assisting with the auditory acclimation for the day with be up and coming producer, deejay, and Harmonic head JAKE PATRICK, who’s been curiously consistent behind the decks this whole year. With plenty of music to come from his Rockers Takeover project with Ashley Albritton, this set on this day promises to get the dance floor moving. Opening this closing party will be the man behind the Bang the Box label and the Liquid Sky camp at Burning Man, CHRISTIAN MORA, a fresh LA resident from SF. Come kick back, dance your ass off, celebrate the closing of a great season, and let BASK act as your launch pad into what Saturday night has to offer. 1pm-8pm. $10 before 3pm with RSVP to rsvpharmonic@gmail.com.
