The party ended at 8:15 or so. I thought that Sasha outshone Digweed but this NY set pales in comparison to their WMC AA Arena set. Miami set was a 7/10, NY set is 4/10. All of this is IMO of course.
Points of interest:
1) Crobar's security was very professional and courteous. A+++++++
2) Crobar needs to tune their system cuz it still sounds muddy.
3) $60 dollars at the door? Whoa! Good thing I bought tix in advance!
Sleepy bye bye land time now...
NOT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an fyi... if the crobar system isnt cutting it for you, end your life now, I was with audiophile and audio professional friends... the limiters preventing distortion keep a smooth sound (the pure tack without distortion) and not fuck the speakers.... dancefloor location makes a world of difference, take a tour until you find a hot spot, trust me...
4/10? I'll reserve my urges to flip out and simply assume that you are temporarily retarded, and excuse the review!

Yeah I know that dancefloor location makes a world of difference. Usually with the Phazon systems the hot spot is in the middle of all the stacks. Even there it hurt my ears b/c the systems was just too loud. The highs were harsh and abrasive.
My review is my opinion. That's all. I am not retarded and i think it's rude that you piss all over my point of view. I didn't bash you for saying that you had a great time.

I was kidding about the retard thing, I just thought it an odd contrast to what a felt and got from the crowd as well, If you didnt like it thats no worry for me, its ok... I'm retarded, so dont worry
hijack: mike, you deserve huge props for bringing back the "Elan" quote -- that vignette is one of the funniest fvcking things i have ever heard. total genius IMO!
all of my friends bailed, and I couldn't find the mercury crewe. I went by myself and found a spot by the barricades at Digweed's side of the stage and jealously guarded it ... no room to dance. I'm a girl, I can admit it without being ashamed: when digweed first came on, I had to shed a tear or two. Some nice guy behind me (who probably thought I was rolling patted my arm and said, "it's going to be okay." Digweed affects me on a very personal level. I'm not taking anything away from what sasha does. He's amazing and amazingly creative. Digweed's still my favorite. He's relentless on a very subtle level. Sounds like a contradiction, I know, but goddam!!! I came out of the goth/industrial scene years ago, and most of that set was dark enough to feel nostalgic to me, but the sound was totally fresh at the same time.
next time, I'm going for the vip tix for sure! a reserved space to dance is a good thing

glad you had a good time -- sorry you missed us, there was a ton of us runnin around, even a few in MS tshirts.
don't buy VIP tickets.. they opened up VIP to the public around 12 or 1 or something.. only thing worth a damn were the bracelets that allowed you on stage which you, obviously, can not buy (and i didnt have one either )

get a paif of acoustic earplugs ($140). I use the 15dB cut. It stops bass distortion and allows you to hear the music nicely without any strain (but then again I'm very protective, over protective, of my ears).. I admit the sound was lacking a little bit in the mids, but not much, and one could very easily argue that it was the style he was playing. But by no means was the sound weak or harsh or anything... you should go hang out in a shitty club with bass soo fucking loud you cant hear a fucking thing and you start to cry.. or tweeters so high powered and directional they make you squint.... ahhh shitty sound systems
FUCKING SICK NIGHT!!!!!!!!!! SUCH A BLAST

What a wonderful night. Sasha blew me away, as always. I felt Digweed's set was a little bland (I know he can do better!), but everything was totally cool.
Three's opening set, as usual, totally set the vibe. Without other DJ's to screw things up (you know whU) the night went great.
For those bitching about the sound: You must have imaginary standards, because that system is better than 99.99% of the clubs out there. I did notice when Digweed first went on that there was some speaker distortion, but that was because the gain was set too high on some piece of equipment. And at some certain high volume, no matter how cleanly produced sound is, your ears will distort.
4/10? I guess you don't like S+D. The only way it could have been better is for Digweed to play more on the dark and dirty side. Other than that, I thought it was as perfect as it gets.
