                Release Notes:

                01. Send-Return - Hope (LoQuai Remix) [Segment Records | Promo]

Carpenter by day and producer by night, the name of “LoQuai” remains on the lips of underground DJ’s and producers around the world. Konstantin Alt was born in Bel’bulak, Kazakhstan, emmigrating to Germany when he was a child.

His early musical career started in 1998 when he purchased his first electronic instruments, parallel to starting his schooling as a carpenter. This was the beginning of the music scene. From here Konstantin began working intensively in music production, weaving in all styles of electronic music including psychedelic, trance, ambient, trance, break beats, and drum & bass. The combination of these styles has made him a producer of progressive house.

Studying audio production at the SAE School (Frankfurt) he graduated in 6 months gaining certification as an EMP (Electronic Music Producer) From here his career skyrocketed with many offers coming in from labels such as “Ultimate House Records” where in 2005 he released his first official single under the name “LoQuai”.

During these years he worked on many remixes for a variety of labels, which really helped propel his musical career. In 2006, Mystique Music Records, a new label in underground music, approached him and there he finally found a label where he could grow fundamentally as a producer. In the last year he has worked on remixes, original tracks and releases on over 50 labels incl. Mystique Music Rec. Jetlag Digital, Baroque Rec. Indigo Rec. and many more.

                02. Cumiks & Fran Von Vie - Unknown [unreleased]

Fran Von Vie needs little introduction to Resident listeners, with his 'Wake Me Up When Everything Has Changed' becoming a firm listener favourite before gracing CD2 of the recent Renaissance Masters Series.

Cumiks (above) is a group of two spanish who started this project in early at 2008, Miki and Alex share the same musical taste, dominating harmonic melodies and rhythmic percussion, mixing dark atmospheres with absorbing sounds. Each live-set is diferent to the next one, thanks to their controllers and keyboards. They have shown a great personality in their tracks, interacting with the public and providing what people need each time. You haven't seen the last of these young artists, constant dancing is granted with them… an accumulation of good sensations ensured with a high dose of freshness and musical innovation.

                03. Martin Patino - Ruta 5 (Daso Remix) [Brown Eyed Boyz Records | BEBR116]

The long-awaited EP from Martin Patino has finally arrived ! We are so happy to release this one !!! Unique music inside . Proud to have Mr Daso (Berlin) with us as a remixer on this release :-)

                Daso Bio

Imagine somebody who was born in Poona, India. At the age of five, he used the dance floor of his father’s disco as a playground. All this as well as growing up with the music of Miles Davis, Hendrix and Radio pop.

Daso is one of the most talented acts in the recent electronic music circus. Out of the blue, Daso’s debut record “Daybreak” (MBF Rec., 2006) turned into a long run success for the Techno peak time moments in clubs around the world.

Like many others, Spectral Sound became attentive to Daso’s music and decided to publish the young artist living in Cologne. “Meine” was a result of this intervention, a truly extraordinarily techno hymn.

Daso impresses everyone with a wide range & diversity of work. From Disco-House with 80’s pop afterburner on MBF to Minimal on Connaisseur records, where he published “Thujon”. The track, which was the climax on the Mixmag’s Dubfire Compilation, investigates the depths of smashing Italo disco and positively charged Hi-Tech-Trance.

Daso releases on labels such as Flash Records, Session Deluxe, Motor Music and more. His tracks are played by many prominent DJs and can be found on countless compilations. His specific “Pop approach” is a constant element in his work. Its no wonder he has produced a songs for German speaking Pop songwriter, Jens Friebe, and his album “In Hypnose” (2005).

Daso ultimately reveals his true talent in his live performances. From emotional House, which abruptly and unexpectedly changes into Rave hymns and hard Techno. He controls the crowd by creating ecstatic moments through perfectly timed change of styles. Above all, this rare talent is an extraordinary performer on dandy level, with elegance and style.

Quoting the words of our protagonists “Music and love are the most important things in my life, and this message I want to spread through my songs. Love not only to people but to all kind of beings and things.”

                04. Supermax - Love Machine (Nick Curly Edit) [Atlantic | unofficial edit]

Here we have the 1977 classic by Supermax, an Austrian disco vs. rock fusion band. Founded by Kurt Hauenstein in 1976, and active in the late 70's and all through the 80's. They scored a hit with 'Love Machine' from their "World of Today" LP.

Supermax were also the first multiracial band to tour South Africa. Despite near constant death threats, they played 21 shows causing quite a political scene and earned Kurt "no-entry" status to several countries.

This track was revamped in 1993 with a Philly Mega Mix [Deutsche Schallplatten Berlin | DSB 3130-0] and had 2007 remixes from Icelandic techno-soul band GusGus [Pineapple Records | PINE007]. 2012 sees Mannheim native’, Ibiza resident and Cécille Records supremo Nick Curly give his cool take on things.

"A big THANK YOU for the great season in İbiza and for supporting me in the past month. It's not a big gift but I wanted to do something in return - here is my re-edit of Supermaxx – 'Love Machine' which you can download for free. I wanted to play with a track which is not so obvious - this took me a few days to find and work on, but here you go. I hope you enjoy it." [Nick Curly]

                05. Jonny Cruz - Devil's Hex [My Favorite Robot Records | MFR060]

My Favorite Robot Records can do little wrong at the moment: whether it be their foray into album releases with Jori Hulkkonen (to be followed by Fairmont), their string of stellar singles this summer or their much hyped label showcase parties all eyes are certainly on this consistently excellent Canadian based label. Now the MFRR team look to join forces once again with Berlin based Puerto Rican producer Jonny Cruz, the man who provided the superb ‘Street Disco EP’ for the label last year.

Cruz has a history with My Favorite Robot Records that includes not only last year’s stunning EP but also a highly acclaimed collaborative release with Emerson Todd. He has also released music on labels such as Cocoon, Geno and Poker Flat records building an enviable reputation for quality electronic music.

The ‘Devil’s Hex EP’ kicks off with the original version of the title track, a deep and brooding slice of underground electronica with a dark tech edged house feel to it. Heavily effected vocal parts play up against menacing synth lines and haunting FX to create a supremely atmospheric record, quality stuff. The original is backed with a remix from Avatism & Jeremy P Caulfield who take time out from the Dumb Unit family stable to craft an ethereal and emotive remix of ‘Devil’s Hex’ that is a perfect accompaniment to the original.

The second of the original tracks see Cruz team up with Cali Lanuaze for a synth driven retro vocal workout that really hits the mark. Mid tempo bass and drum tracks provide the basis for intricately weaved dark melodies and vocals that have you locked in from the off. The original is followed with a superb remix from Crosstown Rebels artist Fur Coat who picks up the pace and moves things towards the dancefloor with a hypnotic mix with some intense top lines.

Released by: My Favorite Roboy Records
                Release/catalogue number: MFR060
                Release date: Oct 22, 2012

                06. Enki - Tim Burton Abduction [Rebellion | RBL011]

The clue is in the title of the release from new Rebellion signing Enki. A double odyssey of spiralling trippy grooves, ‘Tim Burton Abduction’ is all spooky FX, organs and dense rolling percussion a superb slice of heady tripped out infectious techno that is going down a storm with the Rebels crew this summer!!

A self-professed master of magic and exorcism, French born Enki is certainly a young talent with a distinctively dreamlike quality to his music. Seemingly unperturbed or influenced by the current populist dance-floor, Rebellion has found a perfect contributor to its off-centre catalogue of cavernous late night sounds as Enki offers up his debut and what he calls “Alien House and Cosmic
Techno”, conceived to make people dance naked under the full moon.

A-side ‘Tim Burton Abduction’ is a treat for the senses – a purely hypnotic groove that unravels and builds in a glitchy outer space framework of chimes, claps, bells and bleeps. As the gentle kick enters the mix, the grip of the groove is tighter still as the sci-fi FX and abstract organ melodies merge with the intricate percussive patterns.

On the flip, ‘From Another Planet’ weaves strange melodies in another spellbinding setting. Big on atmosphere and rhythm, the sub bass creeps in and takes the tracker to a deeper place as soaring electronic harps and abstract keys work into the fluid ethereal groove and the drama builds.

Off-kilter, dark and absorbing, Enki’s debut is another reason to watch the French underground and a fine example of Rebellion’s leftfield imagination.

                07. Dosem - A Modern Ritual (Club Mix) [Tronic Music | TR095]

Dosem touches down on Tronic with two juicy slices of otherworldly sounds, emphasising on his trademarked atmospherics and classy groove.“A Modern Ritual” sets the tone with its lazy percussion and funked-out bass-line before stepping things back with an almost balearic breakdown. The torch is then passed to “From The Edge” where drums from the attic and obscure samples are combined with a shuffling mega-groove in order to pump out a jacking, haunting maelstrom with classy chords leading the way.

                Released by: Tronic Music
                Release/catalogue number: TR095
                Release date: Nov 12, 2012

                09. Liz Cirelli - I Pray (Cora Novoa Remix) [Klangwelt | KW0017]

Liz Cirelli returns on Klangwelt with her debut single i Pray . Gentle tunes and Mrs. Cirelli herself on the mic will float trough your speakers. We teamed up with Dawad of the IRM imprint..also well known for the remixes he has done for us and welcome back spanish luminary Corao Novoa who added some agile, warm grooves to the original.

In October, Cora Novoa also delivers two versions of 'I Pray' by Liz Cirelli, included on the EP of the same name and edited by Klangwelt. It is to be released on October 10. One of these remixes, which may be freely downloaded on the web, is a down-tempo version more for enjoyment than for the dancefloor.
