The plot
Gonesse is a suburbia of Paris, located on its north-east. It is 16,5 km away from the center of French capital. This information is not just some random data, it is very important to the plot of this set.
So, there we were, in the hotel in Gonesse, relatively close to the Charles de Gaulle airport. On the map, it seemed so close to the center, but how wrong we were. Paris is enormously large city, and going from one part to another would take even couple of hours. One night we realized that we have missed the last bus from the railway station. We had to go on foot for 5 miles or so, at 2 a.m. If it happened once, it wouldn't be that strange, but the next night, under various circumstances, it happened again! The streets are ghost empty in that part of the night, and none of 5 or 6 cabs that passed near us, had no intention to pick two guys waving from the dark alleys. Well, why would they? We probably looked like some kind of mass murderers looking for victims. The bright side is that I could see some things I could never spot during the day and how Gonesse look very nice and authentic. The long night walks in the dark suburbia turned out to be an inspiration to the mix.
It is great when even track titles goes well with the story, so there are Nightwalker, Fear, Night Colours, Shadows on Clouds, Morning Light, The Light Goes On, etc. The BPM range goes from only 85 to 129. Musically, I found this mix as some sort of follow-up to Amsterdam, but in a little bit darker way.
