    Howells at Avalon 4-2-05

Well saw Fanciulli and Howells for the 1st time ever on saturday and I gotta say it was great. But first I gotta tell you guys that Fanciulli really blew my friends and I away, his set consisted of breaks then electro, great mixing and playing style, that guy's going places.

As for the Howells set it was different, tons of bleeping tech, it almost felt like techno in some parts. I'm not disappointed but I wanted to hear more of his signature sleek sexy deep/tech house. he played less than 4 hours! isn't that odd for Howells? I've heard he plays for like 8 to 10 hours.

What sucked about the night was that doors didn't open until 11:00 or so, the party or concert going on before the Howells gig went over their time... but overall a fun night

Howells is making he trip to Avalon Boston on 4/15. Looking forward to this night. His recent sets has been excellent, and his GU promo is amazing. This will be a great b-day celebration

Was this the first time you've seen him live? (edit - duh, shoulda read the post)

He's been playing techno for years. It's not always a straight progression from house to techno, either. I've heard a couple of sets where he blends tech to house to progressive to hip hop and back again. I've seen him spin some really long sets, but I think that's a lot to do with the contract worked out beforehand and the rules of the club.

          Nic Fancuilli rocks.

Danny Howells is playing a set in Charlotte next week. He goes on at 10 pm until? playing downtempo and slowly taking it to club tempo. I can't wait!

danny's coming to toronto on the 22nd of april and i cant wai to go see him again. the last time i saw him was at that epic party at aria montreal in 2002 where he threw down like an 8 hour set with naked girls dancing on the sides of the stage. hopefully he plays more of a housy show than a techno show, but i'm sure i'll have fun either way

Got there around 11pm...there was a mob outside trying to get in...I had to be patient...didn't get in till about 12:30...good thing i smoked a phat joint before getting in line.

Nic & Danny rocked! First time seeing/hearing Nic Fanciulli live...he was awesome, really got the crowd pumped. Danny was great as usual...heard a few tracks from his GU but don't really remember which.
