With the week grace period passing over post this years Miami WMC - we've finally got answers from most of the DJs we hit up for this years 2005 Miami WMC Perspectives. First up is man responsible for the legendary Made in BED nights in their forth year at this years conference. Not only did he once again have the industry dominated crowd quoting the "best party of the conference" said many times over the past 4 years - but he enjoyed himself and had a good time entertaining his 'guests'.
We are of course talking about Danny Howells - who not only had fun with Carl, but got stuck in a gutter, had something to do with clitoral stimulation, played out some 80's tunes and explains the whole hat situation.
What was your best gig at this year's WMC?
BED - can't beat it baby! Roll on next year ...
Which track do you remember going off the most?
Didn't hear too many other DJs this year as I was either playing or being naughty, but my two personal faves were the new Xpress 2 single and the new Joey Negro.
What kind of music, events, DJs or live acts would you liked to have seen or seen more of at this year's WMC?
To be honest, I was in my own bubble this year. Whenever I wasn't playing I was doing press stuff for the new CD, so I'm not that aware of what was really going on. I got to see Coxy at Ultra and that left me more than satisfied! Wish I'd managed to have seen Sven Vath though.
How much would you have been prepared to slip security to see yourself play?
I'd slip em a twelve incher.
Who had you laughing this year?
Lee Burridge at our 80s party. One of the funniest nights in a long while.
Was the hat part of your Miami game plan?
No, I was just trying desperately to avoid people seeing my matted hair.
I've since had it cut and layered so the hats have gone.
I'm thinking of adding a tone next.
Name one other use for your hotel key besides getting in?
Clitoral stimulation.
Was the WMC for you all about... a. tan lines b. drink lines c. guestlist lines d. other?
Drink lines obviously. I don't know why you even bothered to ask me that.
Are there any rumours about yourself or others that you'd like to clear up?
No!! They're all true.
Sum up the 2005 WMC in 5 or less words.
I'm stuck in the gutter.
This year's Made in BED IV party (run by Made Event) doubled as Danny Howell's GU027 Miami Album Launch and prior to the mayhem of the Miami RA spoke to Danny about the album. Look out for this interview - available on RA in the coming week. In the meantime you can read the review of Danny Howells' latest GU masterpiece below.
