On Saturday 16th February 2013 Nuestra Casa makes an explosive return to the London club scene with a jaw dropping DJ lineup at our amazing new venue Relay. Relay is the sister venue for Cable, created out of the space that was previously Cable's mysterious 3rd room, and it simply has to be seen to be believed.
Entertaining us on the night will be a pair of true trendsetters of electronic music: Robert Babicz (Live) and Tom Middleton: Sound of the Cosmos.

ROBERT BABICZ (Live) (Babiczstyle/Systematic)
Robert Babicz's musical output is inspiring and staggering. A true one-man operation, he writes, records and performs solo; commanding an ever-expanding touring schedule, tailoring the music he creates to the cities he visits. Straight out of Cologne in 1993, under the pseudonym Rob Acid, Babicz released his first single Happy Answer on London Records, which unexpectedly became a huge club hit. With the rise of acid house influenced records dominating the charts, Babicz was able to ride high on this new wave of club culture. In addition to becoming an in demand live performer using one of his other names, Acid Warrior, Babicz started to release singles on high profile imprints like Kompakt, Treibstoff and Steve Bug's Audiomatique, as well as his own label, Junkfood.
By the turn of the new millennium, Babicz was striving for a different sound and thus began a new label, Shortcut. At the same time, he received multiple requests for sound design from hard and software producers, most notably resulting in the presets he produced for Native Instruments. In 2007 Robert released his landmark record, A Cheerful Temper on Systematic Recordings, which expertly moves between electronica, techno, minimal and classic house.
Playing 'live' has always been a key feature of Babicz's authentic musicianship; improvising instead of reeling off pre-determined sets has made his celebrated shows unquestionably unique events. He consistently delivers astonishing performances of his own productions built around warm melodies, blissed atmospherics & analogue bass – sometimes jacking, but mostly tripping and always dancefloor orientated.
"Few producers have reached a level of international respect that Cologne's Robert Babicz has over the years" - Data Transmission
"A lush, almost somnambulic tapestry...a complete and thoroughly well realised piece of electronic music" - i-DJ Magazine on 'Immortal Changes'

TOM MIDDLETON: Sound of the Cosmos (Cosmos/Global Communication)
After Tom's breathtaking set at our recent boat party, we thought it would be down right rude not to invite him back to tear the roof off Nuestra Casa once again. To the untrained eye Tom is just another DJ. Beard, box of records, bounces behind the decks. You've seen one, you've seen them all, right? Wrong. You see Tom isn't just a DJ. He's a scientist; a meticulous technician with a thirst for all musical forms from breakbeat to baroque.
Researching each and every project with eagle eyed glee, Tom approaches every venture, from productions to DJ mixes, with the attention to detail that's usually reserved for the likes of architects, surgeons and engineers. His mix CDs such as 'The Sound Of The Cosmos', '3D' and 'The Trip 2' show true precision and forethought with Tom spending hours of preparation studying the key of each track and how they relate to each other.
Many believe he was born with these razor sharp skills. Classically trained in piano and cello Tom understood music's essential rudiments and theory long before he could grow those iconic whiskers on his chin. It's this adept understanding of the true technicalities of music – how it works, how arrangements compliment each other and how you can convey the strongest message – that's helped him carve a unique career that's spanned from his deep space delights with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication and Jedi Knights to last year's breathtaking debut album 'Life Tracks', a homage to the ambient and soundtrack music. To this day he refuses to sample other people's music, preferring instead to create his own sounds using virtual orchestra and band software he’s programmed himself.
He's flirted with chart success with the 2002 club smash 'Take Me With You', hosted his own show on Kiss FM, been resident at Ibiza's most super of superclubs Manumission and tutored the winning DJ Ryan Shaw in ITV's cult DJ challenge The Joy Of Decks. As a DJ he's performed in almost every corner of the globe to crowds as large as 150,000. With his trademark widescreen musical repertoire, he's spent years championing styles long before they were the norm, helping Ulrich Schnauss develop his career and hosting Hot Chip and Mylo's festival debut appearances.
More recently Tom's seen major airplay action with 'Remember The Love' – his homage to the roots of house music – Forge on Digweed's seminal Bedrock imprint, Orange Light's 'A Few Good Days' and The Golden Girls' stone-cold classic 'Kinetic'.
