MistaJam has been a great ambassador for the UK’s electronic music scene over the last few years, pushing forward underground artists and producers across all platforms. His brand Speakerbox, following a successful launch year in 2012 which saw festival stages, international club nights and intimate showcases alike; provides a balance of established names alongside the hottest up and comers. Refusing to be kept to one sound Speakerbox reflects a diverse range of electronic styles and a presentation of the most cutting edge sounds.
Bass crossover kings Chase & Status have today been announced to kick off Speakerbox’s first event of 2013. They will join our head honcho MistaJam and Pendulum to descend on the mother of all London warehouse rave spaces that is the mammoth Great Suffolk Street warehouse on 2 February.
Teaming up with warehouse specialists LWE, who have been behind some of the capital’s biggest events of the last twelve months, including Skrillex’s first UK show, to take over the many monstrous arches of Great Suffolk Street warehouse.
Chase & Status need no introduction. 2012 saw the duo smash venues all over the world and we are delighted to have them kick off our first event of the year.
Joining them will be Pendulum. Few producers have had as such widespread success across the board as these and you can expect an electric and captivating DJ set from one of bass music’s most well known acts.
Heading up the main room will be our heavy-hitter, MistaJam.
Constantly flying the flag for underground influenced UK producers and artists, MistaJam’s shows on BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 1 have paved the path for many underground producers to get airplay. Effortlessly joining the dots between dubstep, UK funky, grime, hip hop, r&b, drum & bass, house, reggae, dancehall and everything in between, MistaJam has built up the respect of artists and fans across these sub genres.
We’re taking it back to basics, in this raw industrial space, making it all about the music and bringing the bass in style this February.
Further support, provided by some of the most exciting and up-and-coming talent in the scene, will be announced soon.
