    Release Notes:

    01. Sirenize - Everybody [Bedrock Records | Bed_USoM]

“Everybody” has a great groove, with its swung percussion and rolling bass, and really helps set the mood for the night ahead. I have been playing this for the past few months quite early on in my sets and it never fails to create the right vibe. [John Digweed]

    Bedrock_Underground Sounds of Miami LP

“We’ve been wanting to do a Miami sampler for the last few years now, showcasing some of the great artists we work with on the label but other projects and releases got in the way of letting us do this. However this year we have been very fortunate to be in a position where we not only had some amazing music but also some time to get this organised so we could do it properly. I have also been able to road test all of the tracks at gigs since the start of January and the reactions to the music has been amazing so it seemed perfectly apt to put a release together that we can focus on around Miami and the Bedrock showcase parties there.” [John Digweed]

“The wealth of artists involved is truly amazing and it was great to get Pig&Dan involved along with artists who we have worked with in the past, like Robert Babicz, Wehbba, Guy J and Stelios Vassiloudis. Ultimately, I’m really happy with the release and can foresee a lot of these tracks carrying on into the summer season for a lot of DJs.” [John Digweed]

Take, Sirenize, the latest project involving Rowan Blades and rising star Dennis White (aka Thermal Bear on Traum). This duo never compromises, always staying true to the underground with a strict artistic ethos & integrity, as opening track, ‘Everybody’, proves.

From ambient soundscapes, downtempo vocal tracks and slo-mo house, through to deliciously deep house, tech-house and acid grooves, the supremely exciting debut artist album from Greece’s Stelios Vassiloudis, “It Is What It Is” on Bedrock, showed the world that variety is the spice of life. So it’s no wonder that Stelios makes two appearances here: flying solo on the inspired ‘West’ and teaming up with sometime collaborator Sasse (aka Klas Lindblad from Finland) on ‘Benedict’. Sasse’s first releases came out on the legendary Sähkö/Puu as Freestyle Man and rightly are considered a milestone in the Scandinavian house sound. His Moodmusic and Sunday Music labels are highly respected worldwide, so his production skills are up there with the best, as ‘Benedict’ shows.

Germany’s Robert Babicz has a music career that already spans nearly two decades, comprising five albums and multiple singles. The mark of a true musical innovator, he continues to reveal his talent and skill as one of Europe’s most essential techno producers. His contribution here, ‘Echo From The Past’, is yet another stunning creation from this hero to many.

Guy J’s brand new track ‘Shining’ (BEDGJDIGI01) and the hot remixes of tracks from his critically acclaimed ‘1000 Words’ album, have been setting floors alight since the start of 2012, so its no surprise that ‘Nightstalker’ is yet another absolute gem. As one of the standout electronic artists in the world today, Guy J is at the forefront of a movement towards the melody-rich and emotionally charged roots of the house music spectrum.

Canada’s Maher Daniel & Casa (aka Mike Casa) are both upcoming, pivotal figures on the Montreal scene. Daniel’s remix of Tone Depth’s ‘Rumblefish’ (Bedrock) was #1 on Beatport’s techno charts for over two and a half months, cementing a relationship with the label that sees ‘Music, Machines & Life’ introducing a very exciting vibe to the proceedings here. A low-slung, heavy hitting tech monster is the order of the day.

Hailing from Brazil, Wehbba is one of the latest additions to Brazil’s fine history of innovative techno producers. He made a big impression with his remix of Christian Smith’s ‘Flyertalk’ on John Digweed’s ‘Structures’ album, leading this dentist graduate, licensed diver and Jiu Jitsu fighter to have his debut track, ‘Mammut’ included on ‘Bedrock 12’. Now, with the bouncy percussive beauty of ‘Motone’ he makes an exciting, welcome return.

If you’re talking about exciting underground producers it would be rude not to mention Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan (aka Pig&Dan), since 1999 their distinctive mixture of influences has given them a sound that is both innovative and easily recognizable. Their Sonic Society label and relationship with Sven Vath’s Cocoon family have led to global respect for this dynamic duo. Teaming up with English ex-pat, Mark Reeve and Malta’s Dean Demanuele has led to a truly international melting pot of hip-swinging, groovy rhythms on ‘Machines’.

Few French electronic music artists combine experience, avant-gardism and guaranteed success on dance floors as Electric Rescue (aka Antoine Husson) does. His distinctive brand of ultra-dynamic techno and sensuality has already proved itself on Bedrock. ‘Dope’ (BEDDIGi13) was a Balearic techno monster, combining the elegance of Detroit attitude to the groove of a big room tune. The highly hypnotic ‘All Access’ with fellow French prodigy, Timid Boy (aka Damien Almira) is equally amazing here.

Catalan producer and DJ Marc Dosem is unquestionably one of the hottest rising stars in the underground electronic dance scene. His bold debut album, “Parallel” (Sino), was released to much critical acclaim in the summer of 2011, further cementing growing respect, having already unleashed massive tunes such as “Silent Drop” and “Beach Kisses”. Dosem’s stunning remix of Henry Saiz ‘La Marea’ (BED100R) was a highlight of 2011. His unrivalled ability to harness glistening melodies, taking listeners on a trip through wondrous realms of emotion, are supreme on ‘How Do You Do It’, a fitting finale to what is an extraordinary collection of the finest underground electronic dance music.

Once again, it’s hats off to Bedrock for raising the bar even higher with this exceptional compilation. In this day and age to not only survive as an independent label, but also to flourish and constantly evolve, bringing forward new and exciting talent, is something that should be applauded.

    02. Justus Köhncke - Timecode (Maxi Version) (Bass Ist Musik) [Kompakt Klassiks | KOMPAKT KLASSIKS CD3]

One of Cologne's most revered personalities in electronic music is producer, singer and DJ Justus Köhncke. A true Kompakt staple since his ground-breaking "Was Ist Musik?" album from 2002 [KOMPAKT 57], he continuously proved to be an extraordinary artist whose output sports rare lyrical and transformative properties, not shying away from German Schlager-like vocals or straight-up Disco references. It's Köhncke's highly idiosyncratic (and personal) approach to dance music as we know it that informs every track, every sound coming out of his studio, making it a goosebumps-inducing experience and a communal event.

Therefore, Kompakt is extremely proud to present Bass Ist Musik, a definitive collection of both signature tracks (like mythical 2004 dance floor hit "Timecode") and underground favourites (2002's "Jet" comes to mind here, as does the memory of sweat-laden parties in Cologne's most hidden basements), dauntlessly cutting through three full-length releases and countless 12"s between 2001 and now.

Needless to say we included Köhncke's legendary remake of Jürgen Paape's towering "So Weit Wie Noch Nie" and leftfield classic "Weiche Zäune", a much-adored plea for more open-mindedness in club culture, stylistically or otherwise. Not only a celebration of the artist's earliest years, "Bass Ist Musik" also invites you to discover more recent works like 2006 headbanger "Advance" or 2008'sÊ "Feuerland", an expertly crafted cover of Krautrock legend Michael Rother's early 70s cult jam, making this a perfectly balanced selection worthy of the KOMPAKT KLASSIKS seal of approval.

    03. Amirali - My Way [Crosstown Rebels | CRMLP017]

After a superb 2011 for Crosstown Rebels, they are now proud to present their next album, Amirali ‘In Time’. Tipped as a one to watch for 2012 (Mixmag), Iranian/Canadian producer Amirali’s debut album is truly exceptional, a subtle combination of house, techno, funk, electronica and downbeat with indie sensibilities. The album is reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Underworld and Art Department all through a modern electronic paradigm. Amirali features on vocals on the album and is already being widely, regarded as one of the most accomplished debut albums of recent years.

His recent single ‘Beautiful World’ (featuring remixes from Deniz Kurtel, Daniel Bortz & Hrdvsion) was met with rapturous appeal gaining an ever-increasing legion of fans. ‘In Time’ is a fantastic body of work, from the hit singles ‘My Way’, ’Beautiful World’ and ‘Just An Illusion’ to the down tempo ‘Painting On A Canvas’ and ‘Last Words’, the album is full of beautiful sonic vignettes. Other highlights include the broken beat ‘Whisper’, the infectious ‘Hear Me’ and the mammoth ‘Sounds Of My Life’. ‘Just An Illusion’ will be released shortly after the album featuring MK, Franck Roger and Appleblim remixes. Amirali has succeeding in producing a mesmeric and consummate body of work. The album has already been playlisted on NPR and looking like another big album release for Crosstown Rebels.

    04. Till von Sein feat. Fritz Kalkbrenner & Thalstroem - Blueprint (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Remix) (Reworks 1) [Suol | SUOL 036]

2011 has been a good year for Suol and of course we won't hold back in 2012. The second single "Reworks 1" of Till von Seins Album "#LTD" is first in Feb with amazing remixes by Kollektiv Turmstrasse, SLG and Erdbeerschnitzel.

The release starts with "Blueprint" featuring Fritz Kalkbrenner & Thalstroem. The track already got a lot of attention as part of the album and when we asked the remixers which track they wanna rework, 2 out of 3 decided on working with Fritz's vocals. The original is smooth and groovy ... Till in best form!

Kollektiv Turmstrasse are up next with their interpretation of Blueprint. We are happy to have the guys on board again after a while of absence. Their deliver a brilliant piece ... what we expected. A deep vibe but still driving ... great use of the vocals. The open air season awaits.

Till's friend SLG from Polands finest Pets label also picked Blueprint for his remix and gives us a hint of the polish winter. Industrial, dark pitched vocals, amazing energy and a hint of old school techno gives this one a different direction. Great!
Erdbeerschnitzel is last but not least with his remix for "Tilly's 61 Rhodes Jam". The Suol crew has been banging his track "To An End" up and down the clubs so we wanted him on board for this. Tim didn't let us down. A 99 bpm groover, nothing really where it belongs but everything just right. Warmup at its best!

    05. Guy J - Fantasy Reality [Bedrock Records | BEDCORBVIN1]

Three months on from his truly historic 5-hour marathon set at the open-air Tres Aguas venue in Cordoba, Argentina at the start of 2012, UK legend John Digweed looks back and then forward as he prepares to share the magic and indulge those not fortunate enough to attend that unforgettable January night. So unbelievably special was the occasion both for John and the thousands of party-goers who bore witness that on 30th April, the Bedrock head-honcho will release his brand new triple CD package Live in Cordoba, giving Digweed fans across the world the chance to experience and reminisce upon what was, in his own words, one of the best party atmospheres [he's] ever experienced.

Complete with two Live Mix CDs (1&2) and a third bonus disc featuring exclusive un-released and most importantly unmixed cuts from Digweeds bag, the Live in Cordoba triple long player captures so exquisitely the innate capacity John has for manipulating and executing sounds and continuously wowing a crowd for hours on end with impeccable record selection. CD 1 showcases John`s ability to set the mood with grooving house and forward thinking techno tracks with remixes from the likes of Agoria, Martin Buttrich, Robert Babicz, Dominik Eulberg, Stephan Bodzin and Subb_an. CD 2 sees John shift gears with chunky beats and driving techno from Maetrik, Alljacks, Oliver Lieb, Boys Noize & Erol Alkan, Nick Curly and Guy J, among others.

CD 3 Sees John with his A&R hat on, compiling 10 fantastic, new and unmixed tracks from Sian, Pig&Dan, Dosem and an exclusive remix of Slam`s classic Eterna remixed by John Digweed and Nick Muir.

"I could see from the reaction to my very first record that this crowd was there to party and were totally united under the stars, creating one of the best party atmospheres I have experienced in a long while. I played for over 5 hours and really didn't want to stop, as I was having so much fun. Fortunately I recorded the set and I hope that this live CD helps to capture some of the energy from such an amazing party. Thanks to everyone who was there for creating such a memorable and special night. " [John Digweed]

    06. Frank Sonic - Dawning [unreleased]

"This is a sneak preview of my new track "Dawning" - listen to it and take an audition to my full musical range!"

    07. X-Press 2 feat. Roland Clark - Let Love Decide (Art Department Remix) [Skint Records | SKINT231D]

    The boys are back again…

Following the release of 'The House Of X-press 2' album we see Rocky and Diesel team up with the legend that is Roland Clark, a UK number one artist with Armand Van Helden and the featured vocalist on both 'Star 69' and 'Song For Shelter' by Fatboy Slim.

'Let Love Decide' is one of the many stand out tracks from the album which sees Roland on fine vocal form in a style which is unmistakably his.

The original is an upfront X-Press 2 groove, textured with numerous melodies which will have you on the dance floor in no time, transporting you back to the classic house era.

The remixes come in the form of uber cool Canadians "Art Department" (Resident Advisors #6 top DJ of 2011) who deliver a builder of a mix which fits perfectly in the world of Carl Craig and Radio Slave's sound. Kim Ann Foxman of "Hercules and Love affair" fame also delivers a strong stylish mix to finish off the EP in true form.

    Release by Skint Records
    Release / Catalogue Number: Skint231D
Release Date: 20th Feb - Beatport

    [Beatportal]

Earlier in the week, Brighton’s Skint Records released X-Press 2‘s deep and percussive house single ”Let Love Decide,” and we haven’t stopped caning it ever since.

The original comes wrapped with a juicy, clubby vocal from Roland Clark that’s steeped heavily in classic ‘90s Chicago vibes, but the remixes from Art Department and Hercules and Love Affair compatriot Kim Ann Foxman are just as tasty.

The former pares things back a bit, but puts even more oomph into the tune’s relentless kick while testing the breaking point of the bassline’s elasticity. Ms. Foxman’s take, however, sounds like a Miami freestyle jam from ‘87, tightly wound and forward-moving but still hearkening back to the disco floor of yesteryear. They’re all thinking-person’s dance tracks, to be sure, but that doesn’t mean they won’t hit you square in the gut.

    08. Adam Port - Someone To Love [Keinemusik | KM013]

The realisation of KM013 – a catalogue number that might cause suspicion here and there – is up to the always unerring Adam Port. But no need for superstition: this single is indeed a definite lucky pull.

Port is pressing every button here, he’s hinting at his percussion-fetish, he’s cutting the vocals like a top chef, he’s amplifying the snare when it is supposed to give the audience this little extra kick and he’s coming up with an unexpected surf-lick, to spice things up with some extra coolness. In “Someone to Love”, soulfulness and peaktime-suitability are melted that consistently, that the addressed search for love will be an easy one within the next months. Love can be found on all the floors, this sureshot will be pumped on.

B1 is rounding up this almost thematic release quite perfectly. It is Port’s renowned “I Love You”, that has been winning hearts already in its digital form on Souvenir Music. From now on, it can be even touched, it can be gently put on a turntable and adored in all its physicalness.

    09. Maceo Plex - Deez Nuts [Ellum Audio | ELL004]

Ellum Audio gets set to unleash the 'Ellum Sleazy Riders Collection' - a funk fuelled drive along a deep and dirty underground house highway featuring Balearic bikers Maceo Plex, Jacek Janicki, Sync Mode (Nitin) and Luke Solomon blazing a sonic trail across the dusty savannah of the musical badlands...

Delivering the funk on cue, label boss and man of the moment Maceo Plex kicks things off with 'Deez Nuts', getting super 'freaky' with a sensuous electro vibe and deep sleazy vocal. The warm flow of melodic keys combined with the deep grumbling chords make this dirty electric groove and one that you will blow your mind!

Lifting the tempo, Polish tech-head Jacek Janicki strikes a positive note with his 'New Tomorrow', a chuggy, driving electronic groove-fest full of aspiration and positivity as heard in Rob Meulman's vocals giving this smooth groove a real modern twist. Producing for over ten years it seems that the time has finally come for this talented producer to really shine.

On the flip Sync mode aka Canadian DJ and producer Nitin slows the pace down with 'Energy', a purple inspired funky deep driver with a real fruity twist. The powerful stabbing synths, deep rolling bass and catchy slowly break beat perfectly underpin the prince-like vocal of this saucy slow-jam. As well as running No. 19 Music alongside Art Department's Jonny White, home to the Maceo Plex hit 'Under The Sheets' Nitin has released on labels BBE, My Favourite Robot and also featured on the Crosstown Rebels 'Get Lost 4' compilation. Sync Mode is clearly a kindred spirit to the Ellum Audio imprint.

Hero of the underground music scene, Lukatron aka Luke Solomon provides a touch of class to round off this special v/a. 'VGA' embodies a raw house sound of the highest quality, with its subtle shakes, deep chords and layered synth structure perfectly bring this music journey to a close. Following a string of successful releases on labels such as Rekids and Crosstown Rebels alongside running his record label Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter, its no surprise that Ellum Audio are thrilled to have this legend on board.

    10. Lewis Boardman - Bend [Souvenir Plus | SOUVENIRPLUS014]

Our fourteenth release is a double-decker of young artists, Lewis Boardman and Ezlv, each with three new productions.

The first half comes courtesy of two very talented young French Canadian producers, Maxime and Louis. As well as previous releases on the likes of Composite, Defected, they have their own label Suricate and play out all around their native Canada. ‘Sensacion De Control’ is a nervy after-hour groover, skittering percussion does battle with the chunky bass-line while a repeating Spanish vocal sample drives the track forward.

‘Everybody Will Survive’ is far more upbeat, a disco-tinged chorus daring the dancefloor to do as the track’s title says and ‘Awkward Angle’ jacks it up with synth-work ordered straight out of Chi-town itself.

Second up, is a trio of warm, deep numbers from the Liverpool-based producer Lewis Boardman. Fresh from his recent remixes of Yousef and Nina Kraviz, the Circus Club resident flexing his house muscle for Souvenirplus. ‘The Right Kind of Burn’ is a real slow-burner, an earworm chord refrain teasing repeatedly alongside the barely heard ethnic vocal sample that twists and turns.

‘Red Light Lullaby’ is a lot darker, peak-time dance-floor delirium aided by its squelchy bass-line and insistent drums, finishing up with the manic ‘Bend’ both channels being haunted by digital ghosts, the melody distorted to mere abstract electric crackles.

Support from Anja Schneider / Yousef / Troy Pierce

    11. Cormac - Narcosa (Jennifer Cardini's Vision Of Us Remix) [WetYourSelf Recordings | WYS011]

Originally hailing from Ireland, Cormac is a weekly resident at seminal London club fabric as part of the WetYourSelf! crew. He is releasing music on BPitch Control and his own co-owned imprint WetYourSelf! Recordings.

Upon its release in 2011 Narcosa quickly garnered support and love from Tobi Neumann, Ellen Allien, Steve Bug, John Selway and Anthony Collins, to name a few. The WetYourSelf! crew now release a killer remix package as they enlist the talent of Jennifer Cardini, Faster and Luke Solomun to reinterpret Cormac's cerebral techno ballad of 2011 ‚ "Narcosa", as well as showcasing an all-new original from Cormac.

The Original track on this release, "Haus", sees Cormac's continue his exploration of the Machina-Melancholia he has been refining over his past few records. Drum vocabulary is provided courtesy of the Roland-TR legacy, whilst subtle textures and sound design form a decisive nod to modern and established techno methodologies. Deep, fresh and seductively satisfying, this tune was designed for the discerning dancefloor.

Jennifer Cardini delivers an delirious wayward journey into Cormac's Narcosa. Deep synth notes, murky textures and drum machine hits are soaked in reverb. This mix recalls the work of Goblin and the glacial sounds of the 80s underground. Cardini has created an incredible hypnotising lullaby soundtrack for the now.

Offering up a streamlined dish in minimalism, Romanian talent Faster constructs an elegant labyrinth of percussive dub textures and sinusoidal tones whilst a firm kick drum and fast shuffling hats propel the track toward serious dancefloor language.

Luke Solomon takes us on a journey of a post-dystopian disco where human beings have been replaced by machines and robots who have learnt to dance. A dangerously funky bassline threatens to consume all with the help of flying hi-hat saucers and an armada of synths, pads and textures. An authoritarian voice creeps out from the wilderness. If DBX had been commissioned to soundtrack 1984 in a futuristic alternative universe, it would probably sound something like this.

    12. Electric Rescue - Lili [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-19]

Few French electronic music artists combine experience, avant-gardism and guaranteed success on dance floors as Electric Rescue (aka Antoine Husson) does. Having previously released tracks on Sven Vath’s Cocoon Recordings, Boys Noize Records, Sci + Tech, AFU limited, Communiqué, Subject and Sign Industry, he first unleashed his distinctive brand of ultra dynamic techno and sensuality on John Digweed’s Bedrock label at the tail end of 2011.

“Dope” (BEDDIGI13) was a huge tune for Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Secret Cinema, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Dave Seaman, amongst a plethora of diverse DJs worldwide. Now Electric Rescue returns to Bedrock with the super-strong “Lili EP”, featuring three killer tunes.

“Lili” has all the ingredients to be a massive tune all summer long. Combining melodic techno attitude with a big room mentality, it has all the right ingredients. Already a huge tune in John Digweed’s sets, this is going to explode to anthem status worldwide over the coming months. With the equally exciting “Opened Hands” and “Science” revealing an experimental and diverse side to the Electric Rescue musical palette, this is a very exciting EP package indeed.

Electric Rescue’s reputation is already flying high in France through his residency at the Rex Club (Skryptöm parties) and organising the “Play” rave parties in Paris, Antoine Husson is most definitely a man to watch in 2012.

    14. Orbital - New France feat. Zola Jesus (Tom Middleton Cosmos Mix) [ACP Recordings | 825646598717]

    [AltSounds Review]

Orbital are MASSIVE. No they aren't massive in a physical way!

They are electronic music gods in many eyes including mine, ever since I first heard The Green album back in 1991 (god damn I'm old) I have loved the Hartnoll Bros. work. In fact I mentioned my 'bucket list' in an earlier review for Altsounds and right up there at No1 is to see their legendary live show. We can all dream I suppose.

New France is the first taster of Paul and Phil's new album 'wonky', their first studio release for 8 years. 8 long long years. The track features the vocals of one Zola Jesus, a voice you will not forget if this is your first time of hearing her. Without further ado, lets delve in.

New France is instantly recognisable as Orbital with their trademark squelchy electro bubbles bouncing from the speakers, definitely the musical sibling of such beasts as 'Halcyon'... and 'Belfast'. Zola's voice is no doubt incredible in its own right on her own trip-hop/gothic flavoured work but when coupled with the Hartnoll Bros fluid breaks, beeps and beats it takes ethereal sounds to another level. The progression builds with momentum of epic proportions, climbs down again so the listener can take in what they have just heard and then, bang! In with Zola's luscious yowling, is that the right word? No I don't think it is, it's the sound of angels fornicating in some freaky bondage roleplay. Pure yet pained and dirty.

This new offering has 3 remixes tagged onto it too, bang for your buck that is! Tom Middleton's Cosmos Mix gives it a massive injection of progressive house, splicing Jesus' vocals down to 'oh oh oh o o o ohhh' on top of a truly infectious four to the floor beat.

The Hydraulic Dogs Mix brings those bouncy fluid notes to the fore, working in extra metallic edges and nice bassy tones.

By far the best re-rub has to be L-Vis 1990's Rewound Mix though, with its elongated elastic reverbed introand the vocals cut and clipped into such way that doesn't take away but adds to the sound. The almost moombahton take on the Hartnoll Bros work brings the party leaping and jumping around with a retro acid flavour, like A Guy Called Gerald bouncing on a rave trampoline with a loved up 808 State, throw in a rewind too and BAM! Pure party Banger!

    16. Of Norway - Libertine ft. Preben Olram [Connaisseur Recordings | cns048-6]

What is the definition of epic? We think it is Of Norway‘s newest track Libertine. A 12 and a half minute long Nu-Disco monster, mindblowing from beginning to end. Techno as it might have sounded had this genre already existed at Woodstock.

For Libertine, Preben Olram - a Norwegian multi musician and voice actor - joined the Of Norways and played live bass and percussions, as well as vocal percussions. Libertine has been the closing track of Of Norway‘s live set for around half a year, always causing ovations, screaming people and goosebumpish hands-in-the-air-moments.

After their winning release ‘Blott Ditt Eige Lam‘ on Silicone Soul‘s infamous Darkroom Dubs imprint, and their ambientish declaration of love ‘Song For Ava‘ on Connaisseur, which entered several chill-out charts, Libertine is the Oslo boys‘ next release in 2012.

We feel honoured that Offenbach deep house legend and Playhouse veteran Losoul did the remix treatment on the flipside. He did what he does best, loosening the outer flesh gently to get to the filet of the track. The result is a stripped down afterhourish deep house track with techy references and big balls. It is stunning how he transformed the original track‘s sweet melody into something crawling, almost spooky. Thanks Pete for this Killer!

Furthermore, cns048-6 features the next part of our Erich Proksch papercut artwork series.

    17. Alex Niggemann - Don't Wait (Moodapella Dub) [Poker Flat Recordings | PFR128]

Düsseldorf born Niggemann has enjoyed a constant climbing success in recent years thanks to his precise tech house productions on 8bit, Tsuba and Supernature. Now based in Berlin, he arrives on Poker Flat with this, the first single to be lifted from his imminently arriving album debut. We don‘t want to tell you too much about the LP right now, but if these two tracks are anything to go by, be sure you‘re in for a treat!

´Don‘t Wait‘ (Extended Mix) layers Niggemann's trademark tight, percussive beats as it builds towards a surprising vocal arrival and a killer, positively hung bassline. Equally perfect for late night sessions as it will be for the coming spring summer season, basking in the sun, it´s a versatile and uplifting cut in the true Poker Flat tradition.

A ´Moodapella Dub‘ is included in the digital release that spaces things out towards more Italo disco territory, while maintaining all the key elements for the floor.

On the B side a dubbed out synth voyage unfolds with ´Curious‘. Working snappy drums and airy, wistful FX, Niggemann skillfully tells his moody story with passionate charm. Swirling synth pads lift before a mid-point break gradually introduces a second theme, cementing the young producer‘s able hand at writing melodies and creating strong, rushing feelings.

    18. Laurent Garnier - Our Futur (feat. The L.B.S. Crew) (Detroit Mix) (Timeless EP) [Ed Banger Records | BEC5161187]

Laurent Garnier's new EP: Timeless EP! The return of Laurent Garnier on Ed Banger Records. Get the Track "Our Futur (Detroit Mix)" on Beatport, 2 weeks exclusive before official release.

Ed Banger records is proud to announce the release of LAURENT GARNIERs NEW EP. I went to my first Rave in 1992, in the north of Paris, it was called SPASMES, since then I signed with the Techno devil! The first Rave music CD I bought was LAURENT GARNIER A bout de souffle EP in 1993, quite happy with this choice. I also bought FELIX Dont you want me cassette at the supermarket and some other ones but were here to speak about my love for techno! I discovered Paris night life at Rex club like most of my parisians party monsters Thursday was Wake Up", once a week LAURENT GARNIER invited the cream of Detroit, the Chicago mob or the UK techno godfathers and what Techno music has best to offer. It was more than 15 years ago, he was already a legend. Were in 2012, the man is still traveling the world, spreading Electronic music in the clubs, on air and above. The idea to release an EP on Ed Banger records was in my head for few years. My friends of DAFT PUNK often said hip hop, jungle, techno, house no matter is what if the rhythm does". Ed Banger records is all about that! Some Mojitos on the beach closed the deal! After a 3 hours back to back DJ set at Calvi on the Rocks I knew Laurent will accept my proposal. LAURENT GARNIER is back, 2 Techno joints, not from concentrate, pure and modern. Its an honour to have him on board.
