Hernan Cattaneo has the bag list. Renowned Argentine DJ and producer has a busy schedule for this 2013. His work is recognized worldwide and is in contact with the leading figures of the genre.
His passion for music and especially for this work, started very young. Discs became the raw material. The ability to make people dance seduced him since he was 14.
He was in charge of several disk trays in early '90. His style is marked by music House. Next January 5 will perform at the Movistar Punta del Este Summer Festival.
How do you prepare to play at this festival?
Eager for several years because I do not do any shows there. All the latest in South America have been fantastic and this is no exception. The Jaguel is an ideal location, good size and very comfortable access for everyone. Steve Angello and Luciano are two great exponents in their respective styles so there will be high-level entertainment for everyone.

How can you define your set?
Usually I like music with a good groove and melody. That is the common denominator in all my sets.
Do you remember what was the first record you bought?
I inherited a lot of records of my sisters with whom I started working. Then I bought a lot of funk and soul that were the main sounds of club music of that time, and from then on I started to follow closely the European electronic music.
When was the first time working as a DJ?
At a ball, in the house of a friend in Caballito neighborhood when she was 14 and before that, organized parties at my house to play music.
What were your influences in music both internationally and in the local?
When I only knew local djs as there was no information about what was happening outside, and I was old enough to enter a club. The first national idols were Alejandro Pont Lezica, Rafael Sarmiento, Bronco and Joseph Bernstein dj, djs true pioneers among Argentines. Then in the '90s, when Martin brought Gontad Graemme Park, top English dj, I discovered a new world and began to travel to meet the djs and felt very attracted to Frankie Knuckles, one of the pioneers of the House of Chicago.

You traveled around the world How encontrás Argentina to the electronic scene?
It is very well, growing all the time, yet increasingly mature. Gontad Martin developed the scene with great success and professionalism and their work is highly respected around the world.
Are you in touch with other dj? Do you have good relationship with Paul Oakenfold? Sure, there is a large community of djs and we are in constant contact, and affinity match in clubs and festivals throughout the year's calendar. With Paul Oakenfold have a very good relationship. The opened doors for me and I will be forever grateful
You shared the stage with big names. What was the most emotional moment?
Fortunately, there are many. I had the privilege of playing in amazing places like the Hollywood Bowl, the Red Rocks Amphiteathre, Burning Man or Coachella yet, Creamfields emotionality or Moonpark in BA are difficult to match.
What does having a DJ to excel?
Personality is undoubtedly the most important, then talent, perseverance and a very good manager is essential.
How is your work on this 2013?
In February I have shows in Morocco, New York, Montreal, Austin, Texas and Chicago, March Moonpark Buenos Aires, tenth anniversary with Sasha, and then the Winter Music Conference in Miami, some shows in Brazil and Peru for Easter. After Tel Aviv and from there will be all the shows in Europe until after the summer. A production level, two new singles with Soundexile will settle on sale in January and March by Sudbeat and another throughout the year, plus other collaborations in which I am working.
