    02. Andrew Bayer - Gaff's Eulogy (Ryan Davis Interpretation) [Anjunadeep | ANJDEE162D]

"My latest work on a nice original by Andrew Bayer for Anjuna Deep. Was a pleasure to work out a soft and slow, well balanced track and showing my other side of melodic techno. Good for those times after work, a nice sunset open air session or even for the wintertime. Hope you enjoy it as i do." [Ryan Davis]

Originally appearing as the closing track on James Grant's "Anjunadeep 04 CD", Andrew Bayer's Gaff's Eulogy" also represents the first single from his much anticipated second artist album "If It Were You, We'd Never Leave".

With his first album "It's Artificial" described by Mixmag as "an incredible album of sophisticated electronica", "If It Were You, We'd Never Leave" takes a more personal and contemplative approach.

A cinematic electronica journey full of emotion and drama, Andrew Bayer's "Gaff's Eulogy" blends woozy, glitched out textures with sonic warmth and the intricate musicality that he is renowned for.

Counting names like Sasha, Stephan Bodzin and Ivan Smagghe among his supporters, Berlin based Ryan Davis steps up for remix duties on this release having released his own celebrated artist album on Traum earlier in the year in the aptly titled "Particles Of Bliss".

Taking a deep and intricate approach, Davis reshapes the emotive textures of the original into a blissful melodic techno epic.

    03. Aidan Lavelle - Get Yourself [RebelLION | RBL013]

At only 22 months of age, Crosstown Rebels’ younger brother, Rebellion, has delivered some prime cuts for dancefloors across the globe. Aidan Lavelle (also someone’s younger brother) returns to the imprint with another standout three-tracker packed with the four-to-the-floor chug and sharp sonic layers you’ll desperately need in your record bag.

Back once again on Crosstown's wayward younger brother Rebellion, Aidan Lavelle delivers another three superb cuts of timeless dance music featuring his own haunting live vocals and epic tribal grooves -- a hybrid of techno styles with deep and moody undertones.

“Get Yourself” has been hammered by Crosstown head honcho Damian Lazarus for the past few months. Weaving a sonic path to the dark and twisted outskirts of the sound spectrum, Lavelle crafts a surefire, late-night floor-filler, with all the subtle touches of a modern deep-house master.

Back once again on Crosstown's wayward younger brother Rebellion, Aidan Lavelle delivers another three superb cuts of timeless dance music featuring his own haunting live vocals and epic tribal grooves -- a hybrid of techno styles with deep and moody undertones.

Title track 'Get Yourself' builds with solid claps and humming bass tones leading upcto a break where Aidan's pitched down vocal winds its dark path into the mix along with the murky bassline and off-key echoing bleeps and chimes. A master of sonic layers, Aidan sets the tone of the EP here with striking lyrics, chugging groove and sharp shooting synths.

'Abyss' is a more urgent floor burner with plenty of tension and mood, swirling, spooky overlapping melodies and the effect of spiraling into darkness. Hidden away as B2 you have another worthy lead track, 'Unreal'. Major rave appeal exudes from the main riff of off-kilter chimes punching through the solid groove and building up throughout weaved into epic synths. Aidan's gothic voice remains a beguiling force.

Prolific composer and producer, Aidan Lavelle (brother to James) has worked with a number of world-class artists including U.N.K.K.L.E Gorillaz, Ian Brown, Queens Of The Stone Age and Massive Attack. Having since built up an illustrious body of work in television and film music, debut solo release on Rebellion 'Tinnitus EP' back in May firmly marked Aidan's return to underground dance music. The 'Get Yourself EP' is further evidence of the solo producer's magnanimous style.

    04. Finnebassen - You Will Never Sleep (Jay Shepheard Remix) [Supernature | SPN027]

Finnebassen has already had a phenomenal year. With "Touching Me" he has conquered the charts in many countries and captivated the audiences with his blend of deep house and funky vocals.

"Footsteps" is an altogether different beast. Melancholic at its core, it points straight at your heart rather than your feet. This track wasn't planned for a release but the boys were so enamoured with it, they couldn't let it let go. With a jazzy overtone and slow ravishing drums, this track is sure to leave a footprint in your heart. The radio edit is set to rock stations across the globe.

Adriatique (Diynamic) brings the track to dance floor heights with their smart interpretation of "Footsteps". You are immediately immersed into the track by the strong wavelike kicks. This remix will cause paralysis of the mind so use extreme caution while operation heavy machinery alcohol may intensify this effect. "You Will Never Sleep" shows Finn's trademark knack for strong vocals and catchy melodies once again! To love this track appropriately we suggest growing another heart to facilitate all the love your body is about to be exposed to.

A strong remix of "You Will Never Sleep" is backed up by the superlative Jay Shepeard (Retrofit). Surely this is the reason we are loosing sleep; bouncy cascading melodies make you hover over reality. Another unexpected turn for Supernature! Prepare to be water-boarded by epic beats because this four tracker just won't quit.

Don't miss the video of Finnebassen feat. Gundelach by upcoming film director Age Salejoe, its a show stopper!

    05. Anëk feat Robert Owens - This World [Chronovision | CV003]

For Chronovision Ibiza's 3rd release we have the honour of having the living legend Robert Owens next to Viva music's new duet and already on Chronovision Anek living in Berlin, with a red carpet of great remixes from Circoloco resident DJ W!ld (Catwash / Cocoon), Lower-east records label boss Lee Brinx and from Germany Veitengruber (8bit / Plastic City).

New Chronovision Ibiza release from Anëk collaborating with Robert Owens on vocals. The release is backed with remixes from DJ W!ld, Veitengruber and Lee Brinx.

Ibiza’n imprint Chronovision bring you ‘This World’ by Anëk feat. Robert Owens this December backed with remixes from DJ W!ld, Veitengruber and Lee Brinx.

Denise & Karina Jensen aka Anëk originate from Copenhagen in Denmark and burst on to the scene earlier this year when joining ViVa Music on their Be-At TV Stream. The duo went on to release the single ‘Come Out To Play’ later that year via Steve Lawler’s reputable label. Anëk also featured on Chronovision’s inaugural release with ‘Time Is Now’ garnering support from the likes of Arnaud Le Texier, Mihai Popoviciu, Audiofly and Darius Syrossian.

The Danish duo team up with house veteran Robert Owens here to deliver ‘This World’. The original cut opens the release, a raw acidic style track with Owens’ unique, heartfelt vocals. Driving percussion and a gritty electronic bass fuel the movement while the vocals add to its musicality, resulting in a stylish house track that oozes class.

Next up is Rekids artist and Circo Loco resident, DJ W!ld with his ‘One More Time’ interpretation. The French producer stamps his signature percussive, groove-led stamp on the original, employing crunchy drums to lead the way and introducing small vocal snippets to the breakdown points in the track. This is a brilliant peak time rework as expected from this experienced producer.

Veitengruber is up next, a purveyor of the Mannheim sound through productions for 8bit and Plastic City he delivers a hooky, drum-led remix that relies on subtle additions to the groove and an innovative marimba style melody to create something unique and refreshing.

Closing the release is Lower East’s Lee Brinx, providing a brilliantly contrasting mix of old school house with its retro organ bass-line, shuffling claps and raw energetic feel.

Early supports: Lee Foss, M.A.N.D.Y, Audiofly, Xpress 2, Guti, Anthony Collins, DJ T, Quentin Harris, Butch, Satoshi Tomiie, Doc Martin, Coyu, Yousef, MANIK, Andrew Grant, Omid 16B, Doomwork & many more

    Release date 17 Dec 2012

    06. Stelios Vassiloudis - No Sleep [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-28]

Already an exclusive and huge highlight in John Digweed’s DJ sets for the past few months, “Coma”, by the superbly talented Greek producer Stelios Vassiloudis, is now ready for release on Bedrock. It also features prominently in the mix on John Digweed’s forthcoming “Live In London” (4xCD) album.

Both the gloriously epic melodic house style of “Coma” and the more twisted vibe of accompanying track, “No Sleep”, reflect a new supremely dancefloor orientated direction for Stelios Vassiloudis, as he starts work in the new year on the follow-up to his 2011 debut artist album “It Is What It Is”.

These super exciting new tracks, along with his recent output on Bedrock, such as “Hit The Lights” (featured on “Live In Cordoba”) and "What's That?" (a highlight on Bedrock 14 along with his stunning remix of Jemmy's "Quarry Bank") are indicative of what is on the horizon for his highly anticipated new album in 2013.

“These 2 new tracks are a little more epic in scope than the stuff I often play in my sets, but I'm really lucky to have someone as prolific and obliging as John Digweed to test them out for me and share his thoughts.” – Stelios Vassiloudis

    Released by: Bedrock Records
    Release/catalogue number: BEDDIGI28
    Release date: Nov 26, 2012

    07. Rob Clouth - Cloud Complex (Max Cooper Remix) [Traum Schallplatten | TraumV157]

"Rob Clouth is one of my favourite producers out there at the moment, if you've heard any of my sets recently then you will have heard his Vaetxh stuff in there, the glitchy super-detailed madness! So when he turned himself to making an EP for Traum I jumped on the opportunity to get involved with a remix.

His methods and style are very original, so it was quite a difficult remix to make, the track just didn't want to fit into a normal techno format! I ended up going for a really heavy shuffle on the drums and trying to make the track a little more dance-floor in it's arrangement, but I wanted to try and keep the approach of the original too so I introduced a lot of complexity into the drums, as Rob said, it's like a lattice of details. So here it is, I hope you like it, and if you're going to do one thing this year, then give the rest of the EP a good listen, in my opinion it's the best release of the year in this genre, properly amazing stuff from Rob Clouth." [Max Cooper]
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The newest signing on Traum is English artist Rob Clouth. Rob has created a stir with artistic thinking people through his activity on the internet and has released a few releases under his alias. Expect the music to be something mind-blowing on Traum since it is the first time Rob has involved himself in creating more techno flavoured tracks! Rob, one can say, is an artists who grows with the challenges and enjoys the broadening of ideas which has benefited all his projects so far.

Combining the macro details with some of the micro details he is better known for has made this release what it is: an explosive highly imaginable and emotional affair. Born in Abergavenny, a smallish town in South Wales now living in Bristol, artist Rob Clouth is the mastermind behind Vaetxh, Dr:kid and if you have come across his masterfully crafted short pieces of electronica, you will be surprised what his new trax will be like.

We can only here say as much as that they connect musically perfectly well with what the label has released from Max Cooper and Dominik Eulberg (who are both fans of him) but Rob’s music is still much more on the abstract electronic side of things which is great!

Robert is interested in various forms of creative programming and brings together sound design and production in an unheard formula. For example he works with sound painting – sculpting sounds from the ground up by painting their spectrums using a digitizer as well as using a tool for sequencing fractal-structured tracks with infinite zoom.

His Zoom H2 recorder and Mic collections mark an essential part of his recording toolbox. His mic has become his camera which he keeps in his bag, just in case there’s some sound that he wants. He uses alternative mics – some deep-ear binaural mics, some waterproofed contact mics (double up as hydrophones) and a coil mic that picks up the electromagnetic fields of electronics, a sound field mic that captures ambisonic recordings, for post-rec panning with head-tracking experiments. On the software side he uses Max and now for some time Synthmaker.

Rob belongs to the new school of British musicians who build their own devices to make music and are often influenced by artists such as Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Clark etc etc.

Rob’s new tracks for Traum show a great deal of appreciation for detail... using extreme shapes of sounds which are highly emotional. Even if some textures seem to be really complex and thought out... his music is rather an electronic language then anything else and encompassing moments of naivety and direct emotion which makes his music so organic.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We start with the opening track "The Bridge And The Lights" which is maybe not a typical track of his since it is more on the techno side then the other tracks on this release. This could be the track most techno djs go with since it pays tribute to "the parameters" still keeping the "electronic rush" going by weaving sounds together in aright way. After an intro the track builds up step by step and accumulates in a heavenly sequence of "unheard" tones (almost inspired by the best French soundtracks ever written for an Alain Delon movie), somehow melodramatic and then again technical or mathematic, it all connects in magic way... which makes this track a real masterpiece and puts him next to top Warp artists!

Track 2 is an interpretation by Max Cooper of Robs track "Cloud Complex" which follows hereafter. Max has strengthened the dj side of this wonderful track by adding glitchy percussion and taking in the melody Rob uses in the original version.

Robs original version (track 3) of "Cloud Complex" is a great soundtrack, travelling from dark, gloomy, heavy, metallic roaring passages to a landscape of exotica. Here the tempo shifts, beats are slices up... creating a firework of a track and just as emotional as the best sequences in "The Bridge And The Lights".

Track 4 features Microtraumas remix of "Bubble Chamber" which they have converted into a dance floor hymn, quite straight to the point but adding their special feel to it.

The original version of "Bubble Chamber" (track 5) has that Rob Clouth typical intro in which he introduces the main theme before changing into a "polyphone modus" more broad and cinematique. With this track the sound and the beat do not rival but are one. Rob is the best when his beats and the mood change from one second to the next, a bit like Ricardo Tobar.Rob seeks for a 3rd dimension. Towards the end he layers and blurs sounds almost in an indie tradition (My Bloddy Valentine) all escalating all dissolving. This is a great track!

Track 6 is Mononoids remix of "Falling Stones" which develops into a Krautrock sensation, wonderfully hypnotic and strange. This puts Mononoid very high on the list of Traum artists. Robs original of "Falling Stones" sounds like a soundtrack of medieval times with an exceptional musical sequential that plunges into a warm sounding melody. This is another stunning performance by him.

The last track of the release "Sifting Through Static" starts with a bit of sound research (we guess Rob has his microphones picking up sounds) and then commences with an advanced beat before introducing interstellar sonic sounds of a wonder full elegance.

    08. DreamAwaken - 8 Bit In A Bit (Switchbox Remix) (Pirates Poetry EP) [Ellum Audio | ELL010]

The constantly evolving Ellum Audio imprint welcomes German techno duo Switchbox and the irresistibly groovy ‘Pirates Poetry’ to the label. Label head Maceo Plex and wonder boy Danny Daze join forces as Jupiter Jazz to deliver a stellar remix, with a Switchbox remix of dreamAwaken’s ‘8 Bit In A Bit’ to round off.

The original ‘Pirates Poetry’ ticks all the boxes of an Ellum Audio classic, perfect for the big room at peak time with full fat squelchy basslines, seductive grooves and trippy FX. The sensual yet hypnotic vocal from NAtz sits seamlessly within the track to add to that all-important dancefloor trip.

Over on the B-side Maceo Plex and Danny Daze aka Jupiter Jazz step up to deliver a solid, heavy-duty remix filled with sonic acid naughtiness and pacey percussions – set to cause mayhem on the dance floor. With two industry heavy weights such as these combining forces there’s no doubt they are set to do some series damage.

For the last track on the release Switchbox deliver a knock out remix of ‘8 Bit In A Bit’ by Marcelo Storino Mortimer aka dreamAwaken. This deep and dark dance floor monster is equipped with rumbling synths and a powerful low end, deep and driving with an epic breakdown, perfect for the late night ravers.

Götz Bökler and Nik Bohn aka Switchbox have been making music and preforming together since the late 90s but also work individually as Goetzlich and Nuke. Having spent some years exploring different genres in other projects, the pair have found the way back to their roots with the re-launch of Switchbox, giving them a new lust to once again explore the techy way of the electronic universe. Since their first release on Sprout Music, Switchbox has received international support by some hugely respected artists like Jamie Stevens, Meat Katie, Dubfire, Sharam, Dr Motte and D-nox and are currently preparing a live act to tour with, as well as working on new tracks for their first album. This latest release is undoubtedly the perfect addition to the Ellum Audio catalogue.

    09. Kiki feat. Shaun J. Wright - Spending Time Together [Bpitch Control | BPC260]

Hercules and Love Affair mastermind, Andy Butler, seems to surround himself with exceptional musicians from artistically ambitious dance floor circles with an almost instinctive sureness – a prime example of that would be Aérea Negrot, who is just as convincing as Hercules and Love Affair's chanteuse as she is on her glorious album, Arabxilla, released on BPitch Control.

But the creative exchange works the other way round too: On his current EP, Spending Time Together, BPitch Control veteran, Kiki, has put the microphone into the hands of none less than Hercules and Love Affair singer, Shaun J Wright. The two of them seem made for each other – Shaun's soulful, laid-back vocals drape across Kiki’s slender and powerful produced beats like a dark silk cloth. The title track is classic house perfection: Dark, cool and sexy.

Also black, albeit in another sense of the word, is the second track on the EP, “Through Darkness”. Nomen est omen: With his no-frills, dynamic house beat pushing right on forward, Kiki drives a breathless Shaun J Wright incessantly through the night – while the Original Mix is brightened by thick chords and soulful vocals, in “Dark Dub”, the music is swallowed up in the gloom of night. Kiki's maximum stripped-down beat und Shaun's minimalistic and fragmented vocals create an atmosphere of extreme intensity and high energy that needs to be experienced on the dance floor in the dead of night. Light at the end of the tunnel is promised by “Bright Dub”, an exclusive track on the “Spending Time Together" 12" vinyl EP, which will hit the shops in February 2013.

    Cat. Nr.: BPC260
    Release: 30.11.2012
    Format: Digital
    Released by: BPitch Control

    10. Bart Skils - Brave New World [Drumcode | DC104]

Bart's EP kicks off with 'Brave New World', which uses pitch curved synth lines to create a unique groove before opening up the filter to be released back into the track. 'Hypnotizing' uses a percussion line that evolves into a melodic section within the breakdown that is supported by a catchy vocal line. 'New Ground' uses a trippy bleeps and a rolling drum beat to create a lively record. 'Cabana' is a little different to the rest of the EP and offers a distinctive set-builder. Using a rising and diving synth line that is guaranteed to get people on the dance-floor.
