I would prefer Steve Lawler, being I'm a fan of his. I don't necessarily know what Tall Paul tends to play...but if you want to hear dark, tribal, proggy house, then Steve is your man. I always have a good time out when Steve is in town. Just my two cents.

Lawler any day of the week! and twice on Sundays

Even though I've heard some say that he hasn't been that great lately he still rocks imo.

Tall Paul does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Lawler. Tall Paul = Cheesy twat, Lawler all the way baby

            Tall Paul Rocks it

but you have to like techno cuz it gets real gritty at times (at least the sets/comps I've heard)

Love the Moonshine Release by him....

            And his set with AvB.

Not familiar enough with Lawler so I won't choose one over the other.

tall paul plays techno these days?

throughout his career he always seems to have been playing some kind of banging cheese or another. good mixing, shame about the tunes.

Lawler has never let me down, anytime you get an opportunity to go see him don't pass it up. Guaranteed to be mind numbingly good fun.

Well, as it was last defined to me.

But these genres change by the hour so who knows what is what anymore...

I call it music for lack of a better term...

I completely agree!!! I would drive almost anywhere to see Lawler! Though I don't mind Tall Paul and his latest Live cd isn't all that bad, Lawler's more my style. What I like about Tall Paul is that he mixes it up a bit between trance, prog, and techno...it's never really boring. But Lawler just does it for me and I him!! And as my sig says, I love it dark and dirty...the way Lawler always throws it down!
