i'm sorry but the popes cofin is really shitty... are they trying to send a message by making it real simple? ..kinda like jesus was suposed to be simple

its just wierd to me because the catholic church is so rich and they preach buying salvation through donations(at least in the old times) yet they try to keep it simple :?

It was the Pope himself who asked that the casket be like that, in his Last Will.

Traditionally, there should have been 3 caskets, each one made of different material. John Paul II didn?t want it that way.

hmm, I think he was supposed to be cremated, so I guess they would?ve split the ashes between the 3 caskets.

Is he not to be placed in a marble type tomb? The coffin i though was only to be for the funeral.

From what I?ve heard this morning, he asked for that not to happen, because he wanted to be as close to the earth as possible.

Dude, there?s 5 million people at this funeral...it?s supposed to be the largest gathering of people in History...

apparently that is the first of 3 coffins. they put that in to another coffin and then another and then he gets buried.

                      rest in piece

if an extremist group did something when this happened you could guarantee wherever they came from, everyone the knew, and the surrouding areas would cease to exist tomorrow. no one is that bold.

It is sad that he dead but I think that his death has been way to commericialized. The media coverage has been unbelievable. I am glad that is it over and we can move on to something else.
