My monthly broadcast on www.eccentricbeats.com (http://www.eccentricbeats.com/shows...epak_hidden.htm) will air Wednesday April 13th. The show will broadcast from 2pm-4pm EST. My guest for this episode is Sami Koivviko (Shitkatapult). One of his tracks, "Rakkaus Pakkaus" is featured on the Boogaloo CD. You can find mixes available for download at www.hidden-nyc.com from past shows including John Tejada, Phil Stumpf and Broker/Dealer. They are all really good.

About Sami Koivviko
In August 2001, a German record label Shitkatapult released his debut 12? EP Kut Pulatin Pt. 1 to be followed with two in series, Pt. 2 in January 2002 and Pt. 3 in April 2002. These four-tracker EPs have been highly acclaimed for their potential for the dancefloor thanks to distinct sounds, punch beats, solid percussion and catchy rhythms, and all tied up with those all essential dub-house stylings. In October 2002, Festplatten (also a Berlin based record label) released a floor-grooving tech-house EP Satamakatu delivering four tracks of funkiness and harmonies.
His debut album Salmiakki came out on Shitkatapult in November 2003. Long-waited album on double 12? vinyl pack covers eight exclusive works from late 2002 to early 2003. The CD has two bonus tracks taken from the Kut Pulatin series. Salmiakki oscillates between private listening and more ?public? sounds (although it leans more heavily to the latter). On the album, Koivikko has largely abandoned the atmospherics of his previous work for a more athletic sound. His interest in electronic music and almost scientific approach on producing has directed him to a unique style of minimal robot-funk techno. Koivikko is a master of tone colour, playing up contrasting hues and he hides an unabashedly romantic melodicism within his clatterbox rhythms; a sentimentalist to the last wisps of analogue decay.
Sami has also remixed such artists as T. Raumschmiere, Turner, Cessna and Cycle Repair & Inflight. Since the album release he has been performing as live (besides DJing for years) in clubs and festivals around Europe and Russia.
Tune in! Next month's guest is Bjoern Stolpmann (Onitor) - first of two mixes from him.
Best,
Deepak
