From deep house to dubby techno, Sebo K has been around the world and back taking the club scene on full throttle with the decks as his mission control. Now he's back with one of the rare long awaited releases – still hitting the point!
His latest output, "Scenario" isn't just any ordinary EP. Sebo K has this special release down to a science as he centres it around an event series that will gracefully unravel this year.
The self-titled track kicks off the 4-part EP with a mounting musical score writing an outline of the listener's idiosyncratic Kopfkino. The A2 takes "Scenario" and strips it down to a killer series of beats and base.
Flip over to the B-side and you'll find two more intense ambient-themed music scores including "Shades of Red" and "Fragments" that will rock you into the deepest trance of sideway thinking.
The buck doesn't stop at the release. As of 2013 the infamous "Sebo K and Friends" parties will now go under the alias, Scenario. Be sure to seek out the host with the most during the upcoming months throughout Europe.

02. Lookleft & Bearight - Miss You (dOP Remix) [Pets Recordings | PETSCD001]
Catz N Dogz label Pet Recordings has just announced that they will be releasing a new compilation mix, “Friends Will Carry You Home Too” in March. This is the second instalment of the celebrated compilation serious compiled by Catz N’ Dogz to debut their up and coming family of artists. This compilation mix marks the labels third anniversary and with that provides a two CD mix loaded with brand new exclusives from the guys over at Pets Recordings.
Disc one packs a punch with artists such as Eats Everything, Breach & T. Williams, Tom Demac, and Squarehead showcasing their take on the Pets unique approach to house music. Disc Two sees artists such as Chmara Winter, Maribou State & Pedestrian, the late Martin Dawson and Catz N Dogz change it up with some more downtempo, diverse productions. They explain their vision behind the compilation further below and demonstrate a diverse outlook on the music.
“We decided to do two CDs because we wanted to show that our label is not just a house music outlet,” explains one half of Catz N Dogz, Voitek. “With CD2, we challenged some artists from our label and asked them to make something totally different from what they usually do – Eats Everything’s ‘Need’ is a perfect example.”
Getting things started with Playa Del Carmen’s BPM Festival in January and Berlin’s Watergate and Warsaw’s 1500 m2 in March, Friends Will Carry You Home Too is going to be released during the prime time of house music events. Look out for a series of bespoke videos supporting a number of the compilation’s tracks, and an art show centred around the release featuring visuals and music in a changing environment.
Friends Will Carry You Home Too… is Pets’ biggest project to date and is set to catapult the label to new heights in 2013. Below you’ll find the track listing, and we will be receiving promos closer to January, so keep your eyes and ears open for some of these tracks because we will definitely be publicising them.
03. Havey Mckay - Shake [Cocoon Digital | CORDIG020]
We have to admit it in front: Cocoon loves Harvey McKay! Already his Cocoon Recordings debut on the "Dots & Pearls II" compilation has the finger on the pulse, as it appears to us. Everything should be more orientated to "beat one". McKay follows the return to Techno and strong beats, and delivers a hi-energy package that has no peer.
"Shake" is Techno at its best! Dub Techno elements in a Basic-Channel-style meet kicking, masculine beats as you may know most likely from Santos releases, all united in the meanwhile typical McKay style. McKay is the incarnate Techno beat, and "Shake" is no exception! Given McKay's standards, "Move" is almost a breather. Well, it's still equipped with a mighty kick drum, but everything comes in a little more tranquil. A new twist on McKay, if you want, with a strong Detroit and Berlin flair. Urban, dark, thoughtful and the matching soundtrack for grey city skies on Sunday morning at 7:30h, on the way home from Panoramabar.
With "Mind's Eye", Harvey McKay then returns to his usual style. We hear a dark Tech-House piece with crashy synth chords that remind of the big Slam and Underworld hits. Great vocal samples round up the rave reminiscence in a perfect way!
After years and years of this never ending House revival, McKay presents three fat and peak-time-suitable muscle tracks that transport only one message: PAAAR-TAAAAY!
[noyzaudio review]
If you read these pages regularly you will be aware that we LOVE huge driving techno and so what better way to start the week off than this incredible E.P from Glaswegian Harvey McKay for Cocoon.
We are not alone in our admiration of Harvey. He has released music on respected labels such Soma, Saved, Drumcode and now returns to Cocoon for his first E.P release on the label. His first outing on Cocoon was in December of last year when his track “First Strike From Mars” was included on the awesome Dots & Pearls 2 compilation. We are always huge fans of the music coming from Cocoon but the releases just seem to be getting stronger and stronger at the moment. There is a lot of amazing music coming out on the underground and Cocoon are obviously playing a big part in making sure the music has the right platform!
Back to this release all 3 tracks on the E.P are monsters, perfectly crafted techno that just keeps driving and building energy. Harvey has a distinct style that you can hear throughout all of his productions but he still manages to stay creative and ensure his sound never gets tired. One thing that remains constant at all times is the high amount of energy and tension that flow through his tracks. There are always clever and unique ideas and he obviously puts a huge amount of time and effort into each track ensuring he maintains his usual high standard.
04. Two Hand Salute - We Are Drum [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-31]
08. Two Hand Salute - Scale Up [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-31]
Two Hand Salute is two excellent producers - Gary Curran (from The Japanese Popstars) & Kev McCool this project is spawned from a yearning to go back to House and Tech House roots. No frills. No fuss. Let the music speak. Scale Up and We Are Drum are two superb tracks that have been huge in label boss John Digweed's DJ sets over the past few months. Say no more.
Two Hand Salute are a new name on Bedrock's ever increasing roster of talented underground producers that keep edging the boundaries of electronic music, injecting new ideas to ensure the listener is always getting something fresh, vibrant and new. Flying under the radar with a previous EP on Gung-Ho! Recordings, this new EP encompasses the duo's deep moody beats, murmuring basses, hypnotic grooves and speaker piercing sounds.
The edgy 'We Are Drum' is brimming with driving percussion and a futuristic technoid theme, that breaks down to return even stronger, giving your sound system a full workout. One of John Digweed's recent bombs, the sumptuous melodic stabs of 'Scale Up' has been used to end recent sets across South America. 'Scale Up' has the potential to still be going strong on the terraces in the summer season, and is a must have for the discerning DJs record box.
[Bio]
We all know that music has been the catalyst for bringing people together, generating longterm friendships and allowing people to jointly share their individual tastes and excitement of discovering something new. It is such a friendship and shared passion for dance music that has now blossomed to form dance duo Two Hand Salute.
Clearly aimed at those who thrive on the underground and with a nod to the cool, Two Hand Salute deliver deep moody beats, murmuring basses, hypnotic grooves and speaker piercing sounds that allow the listener to lose all inhibitions of self control.
The two, who wish to remain unknown at present, and who are responsible for this aural debauchery, are driven by sentimentalism and nostalgia of days gone by. The days when inspirational DJs would drop a track that no one had heard before and the fun part was waiting to see which label it would appear on, if any. We all remember saving those pennies for that all important piece to add to our individual music collections or maybe you were one of the lucky ones who received the odd promo.
This is why, at present, you will not find any existence of their material on social networking sites or music sharing sites. The two guys simply want to share the music in a more personal and direct way, in hopes that they can find a good home for their productions and artistic development.
05. Wouter De Moor - DX Love (Kris Wadsworth’s Zombie Surfer Remix) [Underbelly Records | URWMD005]
Underbelly Records return this January with a three track EP from Dutch producer Wouter De Moor, entitled ‘DX Love’ and backed with a remix from Kris Wadsworth.
Wouter De Moor’s career has been steadily evolving since 2009 with releases on Bla Bla, Remote Area, Trapez and Paco Osuna’s Mindshake. De Moor’s association with these labels has led to a busy touring schedule, taking him across the globe to South Korea, China, Spain, London and the infamous Cocoon Club in Frankfurt. Underbelly Records launched in 2011 and the label has already released cuts from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Alex Arnout, Klartraum, and Matt Tolfrey & Sam Russo.
‘DX Love (Kris Wadsworth’s Zombie Surfer Remix)’ opens the EP here and in true Wadsworth fashion embraces a raw, dubbed out Detroit vibe. Punchy drilling beats and underlying twisted melodies drive the track alongside a penetrating arpeggiated bass-line; the result is a moody, peak-time slow bloomer with a touch of class as expected from the Detroit master.
Next up is ‘DX Love (Original Mix), embracing a deep, dub-techno feel formed from tantalising frequencies and heavily delayed emotive chords. Weighty drums and a gritty rolling bass-line create the fundamental movement of the track while the melodic elements brilliantly meander around the rock-solid groove.
To close the release De Moor offers up ‘Clutter’, a groove led percussive track with a progressive feel. Warbling synth lines and sporadic vocal chops creep in and out of the structure alongside an infectious, hooky bass, while subtle filter and chorus modulation is applied intermittently to create an ever-evolving dynamic.

06. Ryan Pamatmat & Pav Parrotte – Return (Al Bradley 3AM Deep Mix) [Over Recordings | OR007]
Alex Over’s, Over Recordings return this February with the ‘Return’ EP from Ryan Pamatmat & Pav Parotte, backed with remixes from the label-head himself and Al Bradley.
Ryan Pamatmat is a London based producer and DJ and Pav Parotte is based in Manila, The Philippines, the duo run club nights in Manila called Frequency where they’ve honed in on dance floor mechanics, enabling them to create their own productions, here they return to Over Recordings following their ‘FreQ’ EP in 2012 and once again they deliver heady house music designed for peak-time action.
The original mix of ‘Return’ opens the release here, a deep, dark, contemporary house cut, driven by eerie low-end tones and crunchy drums. The duo manipulate vocals throughout to fuel the tracks movement while the latter stages introduce a hooky organ line that tails things out with a heady groove. Next up is Pamatmat & Parotte’s ‘Re-Work’, bringing the drums the forefront while the organ lines brilliantly meander around the weighty groove in the background. Following is the ‘FourTwenty Edit’, stripping things back and contrastingly moving its focus entirely towards the melodics of the original, Ryan & Pav bring the hooky melody to the forefront, introducing subtle variations along the way, the result is a deep, jazz infused house track.
The first of the remixes comes from label-head Alex Over’s, tipping things into a dreamy, ethereal state with warm, bright pad lines, loose drums and a penetrating stab line. Over applies a generous amount of automation throughout to create a flourishing dynamism with drawn out delays and reverb bursts. 3AM Recordings artist Al Bradley steps up to rework ‘Return’ next with his ‘3am Deep Remix’, with a modern bass- driven number. A jittery bass-line storms in from the off as the initial energy for the track while subtle chord progressions, white noise sweeps and resonant tones simply flutter in the background, Bradley delivers fresh infectious house which as the name would suggest is designed for those 3am dance floor moments.

07. Jordan Peak - It`s Time (Argy's Rude Dub) [Air London | AL010]
'New & yummy UK garage style Argy version on Jordan Peak original coming soon'
Big release for Air London Records and one of Jordan Peak's best productions. Argy and Ultrasone complete the EP with two very different and awesome remixes. Overall an outstanding release packed full of main room energy.
Jordan Peak was one of the break-out artists in the Air London family in 2012 and, with our first record of 2013, we bring his debut release on the label. The A1 'It's Time' is a trademark peak party starter and comes armed with tempting reworks from fresh Belgian newcomers Ultrasone as well as a Dub from Cadenzas Argy.
[mavrikproductions]
Air London has another release in the pipeline, this time from the hands of Jordan Peak. He moved to the capital last year and has since been churning out tracks and remixes that have consistently seen success. His gritty style of house has propelled him onto the international scene and also sees him playing at Leeds’ Mint Warehouse on the 9th of March.
The first track on the EP is “It’s time”, a real peak-time house joint with contagious jackin’ house drums that retain momentum throughout. Featuring bleeps not dissimilar to Cajmere’s “Percolator”, the track delivers an equally enjoyable result and will be on seriously high rotation come the 20th of February.
Our choice of the two remixes on the EP comes courtesy of Argy, a slightly more glitchy affair but it’s hard to choose between that and the original. It acts as a contrast to the deeper offering from Ultrasone, the duo made up of Vernon Bara & Igor Vicente who brought “Breathe and Pop” to our ears. “Hanging by a thread” is the second original production on the EP, a techno track with obvious acid-house influences and a hard, driving beat. It’s a real basement number, dark and moody. The track’s powerful and isn’t particularly cheery but that’s not to say it’s any less impressive.
