    Release Notes:

    01. Denis Yashin - Reality (If You Loose It EP) [Thank You Jack | TYJ001]

'If You Loose It' is the theme of the first releases by the new Berlin based house Label 'Thank You Jack'.

Denis Yashin, an Austrian producer and songwriter accepted this issue and produced three deep down vocal tracks.- If you Loose it', - Nothing in this World' and - Reality' by Denis Yashin were even sung and recorded instrumental by himself and they convince on one hand by his unique voice, but also recognisable bass-lines and synth sounds.

Even Nikola Gala, who already exhibited his talent on labels like Rekids, Clap Your Hands or Plastic City leaves his mark in a remix and confidents with an unmistakable sound of rib-ratt-ling bass and Detroit-like synths, which will bring the dance-floor to the quake.

The second remix comes as digital bonus by Art is a Consequence, a trio of DJ's from Lille in France, who have already convinced Diynamic with their sound. Jack says 'thank you'.

    Released by: THANK YOU JACK
    Release/catalogue number: TYJ001
    Release date: Feb 25, 2013

    [soundeffectmagazine]

Thank You Jack is a new, Berlin-based house imprint and its first release comes from young Austrian producer, Denis Yashin and is backed with remixes from Nikola Gala and Art Is A Consequence.

Yashin delivers three originals on ‘If You lose It’, with the title track leading the charge with a snaking, subby groove and lazy vocals. Nikola Gala, having marked his territory with ‘Only’ on Rekids last year, stretches the original vocals over a boneshaking, Radio Slave-esque stripped groove that teases effects, nearly-there dubbed vox and reversed synths throughout.

French trio Art is a Consequence turn in a trippy, electro disco version of ‘If You Lose It’ that exudes breathy charm. Warm, reedy synth licks and walking bass compliment the original vocals beautifully and give the version a unique slant.

The final two tracks of the package see Yashin drop more of his distinctive vocals over two very different modern house cuts. ‘Nothing In This World’ is a balanced meeting of old school house musicality with modern aesthetics and tweaks while ‘Reality’ is a sleek, moody track with a decidedly late-night feel.

    02. Raxon - Stanton (Kolombo Remix) [Audio Tonic Records | AT021]

Raxon’s ‘Stanton’, backed with a remix from KOLOMBO, is the next release on Dubai’s ascendant Audio Tonic imprint.

Leading the way in the Middle East, Audio Tonic’s club night is a beacon of quality with the likes of The Revenge, Tom Middleton, Huxley and more all gracing the decks. As a label, Audio Tonic lives up to the reputation laid down by the club night and can count Jimpster, Brothers Vibe and Anja Schneider as regular supporters.

Raxon’s ‘Stanton’ sees the Audio Tonic co-founder and resident DJ build on his previous releases with a confidently undulating slice of warped, hip-house that centers around an unctuous, elastic bass line.

KOLOMBO, an artist who’s remixes will be familiar to fans of Future Classic, Noir, Kompakt and Turbo, plays heavily on the buoyant elements of the original and emphasises the vocals to create a party stormer.

Raxon’s ‘Stanton’ and KOLOMBO remix is released on Audio Tonic on 18th February 2013.

    03. Masaya - Get You (Anders Ilar Remix) [Mina Records | MINA011]

Switzerland’s Mina Records returns with a brand new single from label boss Masaya featuring two news cuts of emotive House music backed with remixes from Mihai Popoviciu and
    Anders Ilar…

Claudia Ayala AKA Masaya has been a respected member of House music’s inner sanctum since the release of her collaborative single with Ripperton on the Num Records label back in 2006. Since then she has gone on to release through labels such as Perspectiv and Meerestief and has launched her own Mina Records imprint, a label that has boasted music from the likes of Clara Moto, Pawas and Nhar as well as Ayala herself. Now Masaya is ready for the release of her brand new single, the 11th release on the Mina label, entitled the ‘Rosas EP’.

The EP kicks off with the original version of ‘Ganas’, a soothing and rolling slice of offbeat, bass driven House music that features subtle vocal parts, understated melodies and an incessant bouncing vibe, quality stuff. The original version is accompanied by a remix from Romanian producer Mihai Popoviciu who strips things back and delivers a techy and hypnotic mix that provides a solid alternative.

The B side opens with the ‘dub version’ of ‘Get You’ a deep and heady piece of melodic techno that marries gentle emotive elements with a rock solid bass driven groove and Ayala’s haunting vocals. Once again the original is backed with a remix, this time provided by the prolific Swedish producer Andes Ilar who turns in and intense and atmospheric mix that journeys into gothic house territory, sublime.

Mina Records has delivered another sterling release from label boss Masaya, enjoy!

    04. Francys - Trust Me [Souvenir Plus | SOUVENIR PLUS 19]

Souvenir plus hits the year running with an extended EP from Italian housemeister Francys.

First up, ‘Trust Me’ is a mid-tempo mood piece, chunky chords bliss the melody out, while a panoply of percussive effects call out, like the varied sounds of a night time jungle as described by synth. Running through the sylvan scene, like a burbling stream is an ethereal voice beckoning one into various euphoric crescendos.

‘Silver’ is a slow burner, tight drum patterns and reversed vocal samples driving it forward. The dubbed out bass-line gives the track a spaced out ambient feel, bringing to mind FSOL’s classic ‘Papua New Guinea’.

Next up, shuffling beat and gurgling bleeps create a retro-futuristic feel, with ominous arpeggios ratcheting up the tension on ‘Solitude’. Rounding things off, ‘Water Woman’ spurts to attention, with some lovely keys, shimmering synth washes and brushed snare work. The track builds in to a barely sung vocal, adding to the Balearic Beat feel, one to watch the sun rise to maybe?

    05. Tom Budden & Forrest. - Lady Is Trouble (X-Press 2 Remix) [Gruuv Recordings | GRU021]

Audiojack’s Gruuv imprint kicks off 2013 with a stellar five track EP from Tom Budden & Forrest, featuring remixes from Coat Of Arms, OOFT! and X-Press 2. Tom Budden has been heavily involved in the industry for several years now, working with the likes of Time Has Changed and Suara and launched his own label, Alive in 2008, which has welcomed rising artists in the shape of KRL, Rebel, Bubba & T-Bone and Chris James onto its roster. Here Tom joins the Gruuv label with more refreshing house cuts, following the footsteps of Huxley, Luna City Express and Catz ‘N Dogz. My personal favorite rework is the house aficionado’s X-Press 2 aka Rocky & Diesel track. Simplicity is key in this tune with the groove-driven vibe laying the foundations while the sensual vocals brilliantly meander around them.

Leeds based Gruuv is an indie label specialising in house and techno. We are a likeminded collective with a love of warm sounds and deep bass. Our dedication to releasing high quality, forward thinking underground music continues to take us around the world in search of the most exciting and talented artists.

Release date 25/02/13 on vinyl, 04/03/13 on all digital portals.

    06. SimpliCity - Singing Or Speaking (Doomwork 'Chordose' Remix) [Hope Recordings | HOPE109]

Also known as Simplicity on Renaissance and Hope Recordings, Simply City is conformed by Chileans Cesar Bass Romero and Ruben Hinojosa (aka Fellsound).

The duo appear on a special 5-track Hope Recordings Renaissance Sampler for Nick Warren's follow on from Hernán's Masters Series, with hip Roma duo Doomwork (Cocoon,Tenax Rec,Retouch Recordings, 100%PURE, Audiomatique) on the remix. the EP continues the ethos of bringing us an incredible & eclectic mix of tracks:

“The mix was a joy to do. It had been a while since I had done a downtempo mix for a compilation and with the success of my Soundgarden Radio show I thought the time was right for one again. CD1 is a mix of new and old, the ambient mixes are always a bit tougher to find all new material for, and tunes like the Bubble Club track were missed by a lot of people when it was released last year. CD2 sums up where I am as a DJ right now: a mixture of deep melodic house and techno plus a euphoric ending. All the producers really did a great job for me and the thanks as always goes to them” [Nick Warren]

    07. Spieltape - Bag Of Bones (Hector Remix) [Highway Digital | HWD28]

    Limited release info at present.

    08. Georgeous - Loose Feelin' [Depaart | DEP005]

The Madrid-based Depaart imprint returns this March with its fifth release, ‘Loose Feelin’’ by Georgeous, backed with remixes from Evan Iff and Sidechains. Depaart launched in 2012 with releases from label-heads Moliner and Georgeous, picking up support from the likes of DJ Deep, 6th Borough Project, Wolf Music and Iron Curtis to name a few. The imprint delivers cutting edge contemporary house music veering in to the deep end.

This release marks the fifth release for the label and again shows its tasteful approach towards electronic music is not to be looked over.

The release opens with title track ‘Loose Feelin’’ here, starting with a vacillating synth line, noisy sweeps and sporadic vocal chops. This builds for several minutes before punchy, shuffling drums are introduced alongside a tight blend of warm pads, heavily manipulated vocal snippets and profound background depths such as elongated delays subtly tucked away in the mix adding to the weight of the track.

Next up is Large Music artist, Evan Iff’s remix of ‘Loose Feelin’’, veering the cut into peak-time territory with a heady, acidic bass-line acting as the driving force. Swinging 909 drums run alongside the ever-evolving hook, while an ethereal pad and bright synth chords create a beautiful melodic movement to glide around the insistent groove. The result is classic deep house oozing with class and warmth. Following on remix duties is Sidechains, with another remix of ‘Loose Feelin’’, taking things into early house mode with bright, fluttering pad lines, an arpeggiated synth line and a resonant, elastic bass-line being the prominent elements. The Spanish producer builds an intense dynamic with an ever-evolving feel structurally and baroque changes being introduced throughout the tracks eight-minute duration.

Closing the release is ‘Limerence’, a raw house cut employing loose, organic percussion and a warbling house stab to create a simplistic yet effective rolling groove. Georgeous applies subtle, drawn-out delays on the synthesized elements to create a dubby, bubbling feel. Spoken word vocal lines sit in the background during the breaks while a penetrating harp-line is thrown into the focal point of the track to further fuel its energy.

    09. Niko Schwind - Hardwired (Higher Love EP) [Light My Fire | LMF 004]

After Dan Caster recently set the Beatport Nu Disco Charts ablaze with his ‘Let it Play’ EP, Oliver Koletzki’s Light my Fire is back for round four. The young label presents the ‘High Love’ EP by the charming Berliner-by-choice Niko Schwind, whose schooled ear for house music once again dictates the rhythm.

Title track ‘Higher Love’ was crafted in Sao Paulo during Niko’s last Brazil tour in collaboration with the local Frenchman Dunwich, who spontaneously invited Niko down to his studio along with vocalist Serge Erčge. The result instantly convinces with its laid-back groove and sunny synth stabs, which perfectly set the scene for Serge’s soulful vocals – good mood guaranteed!

‘Hardwired’, as the title suggests, is distinctly more pumping, yet equally melodic. Here, an infectious synth motif and echoing vocal loops flow over a beefy kick and jacking claps, aiming straight for the dance-floor’s jugular.

Lastly, Niko’s good friends Kassette Boys round-off LMF004 with a deeper, bass-line-centric mix of ‘Hardwired’.

What a marvelous show, every track for me excellent, I don't know how it improves every-time, but for me this is the best Transitions of late. Francys - Trust me is the absolute epitome of my taste at this moment in time. And it was a stand out track in Liverpool.

Things take a real turn with The Doomwork remix of speaking or singing, it's got that driving melodic sound that Digweed is loved for.
