Drummer. Producer. Audio engineer. Graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. It's safe to say that Jossie Telch is an individual who lives and breathes music.
He marks his return to the Mexico based Undergroove Music imprint here via an EP that's very much in keeping with his vast talents. Title track "The Root" for instance, is the sort of multilayered track that showcases his many facets and skill for arrangement. As the warped sounds face off against one another amongst a cosy amalgamation of bleeps, pops and twisted synths, it becomes even more clear that this is the sort of intricate record designed to force an impression.
"In & Out" is just as unconventional, with this one unfurling amongst another cast of off-kilter sounds. The haunting bassline and the sliced vocal add a certain sense of menace to the equation too, whilst all the time emphasising Mexico's continued penchant for discerning, underground strands. Telch's latest endeavour is quality-laden house music for the astute DJ and the educated listener alike.
