        Release Notes:

        01. Layo & Bushwacka! - Delta Ahead [Olmeto Records | OLMETO038]

Layo & Bushwacka! present "Delta Ahead", the fifth instalment from their highly acclaimed final artist album "Rising & Falling". Atmospheric and beautifully constructed, "Delta Ahead" further showcases the UK duos production prowess, and is backed by an equally impressive remix from producer of the moment Uner.

        [Rising & Falling]

In the six years since their previous artist album, Layo & Bushwacka! have continued to stay at the forefront of the electronic music community via their legendary ‘ Shake It! ’ parties, and a consistently impressive stream of releases via their own label ‘ Olmeto ’: notable highlights including ‘ Now Is The Time ’, ‘ Summer Gone ’, and two EP's for Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 imprint. Their first album was ‘ Lowlife ’ on End Recordings in 1999, followed by ‘ Night Works ’ on XL in 2002, and ‘ Feels Closer ’ on Olmeto in 2006. Their fourth studio album ‘ Rising and Falling ’ is set to reaffirm their status as electronic music heavyweights: A selection of productions that nod to their own musical heritage, but at the same time keep them effortlessly current, mixed together to form a continuous long-player that is destined to become another milestone for house and techno community. ‘Rising & Falling’ extends the musical lineage and influential body of work from a production duo that has been a cornerstone within electronic music for the best part of two decades. Drawing on their rich tapestry of global musical influences, ‘Rising & Falling’ serves up an exciting pastiche of productions which are woven together to form a long-player that exudes the confidence of two producers still at the top of their game. With the quality of the remixes mirroring that of the original productions, the album is destined to continue in a similar vein to previous studio output; namely the finest-quality house music delivered with aplomb.

        02. Piek feat. Bjerk Peterson - Nasty (Pawas Remix) (Txuribeltz EP) [Piston Recordings | PR2013079]

Piek and friends deliver a solid retro themed deep house pack on Pistons latest vinyl outing. Top quality beats and classic samples will have you bouncing all night long. Bjerk Peterson joins in on Nasty serving up a real tasty club cut with those familiar sounds we all love while Pawas delivers a sublime, deep funk fuelled remix. On the flip Efron drops by on the stunning bass monster Ma Business backed up with a super remix from Hector Couto.A straight up solid groove and a definite must have 12" for those boxes!

        03. Eelke Kleijn - Kitten of Mass Destruction (MUUI Remix) [Outside The Box Music | OTB078]

Eelke Kleijn's Outside The Box Music label is back this week for a remix edition of his 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' EP which was released in October of 2012. 'Eenvoud' was considered by many to be one of the Dutch producers best melodic records to date while 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' struck a chord with many with for its quirky brilliance. The new interpretations here are provided by Navar, MUUI and Praveen Achary.

The first interpretation comes from Eelko Wijnja aka Navar who is making his first appearance on Outside The Box here. The Dutch producer has been a firm favourite of Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo in recent months and we love his deep, hypnotic style as well. Here he reinvents 'Eenvoud' into a smooth, melodic techno construction that is full of vitality. The warm bass tones, incandescent electronics and eerily subtle vocal pads create a wonderful flow full of emotions as the track reaches the main break. Here the low end really shines with surging walls of chord changes which push the emotions higher. The drop peaks with some squirrely electronics and tension filled tones which should do some serious damage on the dance floor as the warm groove drops back in for an epic moment.

The next interpretation comes from MUUI who overhauls 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' quite nicely. If you are not familiar with MUUI then you are really missing out, he's an Australian producer with an incredibly unique and eclectic style which is full of fresh sounds and ideas. For his 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' remix MUUI has crafted an incredibly funky, low slung groove which should create some serious momentum on the floor. The glassy bells provide some cool melodic hooks and the piece flows extremely well with some enchanting atmospheres elevating the senses as the track reaches a smooth apex.

The final remix on the package comes from Praveen Achary who is making his debut on Outside The Box here. The Indian producer has continued to rise through the electronic music underground in 2012 with appearances on Baires Records, Mirabilis and Proton's heavily influential Compiled & Mixed series. Praveen's 'Juicebox' radio show continues to dominate the friskyRadio airwaves with the freshest electronic music and a forthcoming label under the 'Juicebox Music' name is set to launch later on this year as well. With 2013 now underway Praveen has just come off a spectacular single for Cid Inc's Replug imprint entitled 'Space Machine'. The production has enjoyed an extended stay in the Beatport progressive house charts and the Cid Inc. Remix was selected as Beatport's Must Hear Progressive House record for the week of its release. For his 'Flierefluiter' interpretation Praveen has crafted a deep and sultry tech house rework that really hits the spot. A remarkably spacious and well shaped bass line sits at the foundation while some beautifully textured tones and aquatic electronics tease the senses nicely throughout. Another top production from Praveen who we expect big things from in 2013.

        04. Henry Saiz - Our Discovery (Orgue Electronique Remix) [Crčme Organization | Creme 12-XX1]

After the release of the original last year [Natura Sonoris | NS035] by popular demand, Orgue's tip-top remix of Henry Saiz' summer House hit gets a well deserved limited single sided run! Play it in your car and melt the ice off the road.

        05. Simon Vuarambon - Violet Petals [unreleased]

Simon Vuarambon, born 28th november, 1994, in geneva, switzerland, after living a couple of years there, his parents took the decision of a change of lifestyle in their lives and move on to Argentina.

this has influenced on Simon's personality, and since the first days of living the Argentinian country at the age of 7, his started learning playing the guitar and also from that, listening to lot of music like: Pink Floyd, Massive Attack, The Police, Radiohead, Foals, among others.

the years started to pass and also his musical taste, thats when he listen some first electronic beats and fell into it and start making his own tracks, always using his rock music influence from before.

Simon started to share his own music to some great artists to get some feedbacks of it, and the first appearance he got into the electronic under scene was when his track "Inverted Pole" got charted into the top 20 tracks of march 2011 by Argentinian Dj Hernan Cattaneo. That gave him hope to keep going, and from that his music has been supported by a lot of great djs.

He released his first ep on Information Recordings in 2009 with remixes of Andy Arias, Alec Araujo and Tom Doyle. Simon has two appearances on John Digweed's transitions show. One in 2010 with his Guy Gerber competition remix of Timing, which was played by John Digweed in Beirut and later broadcasted on his show. And later in 2012 with the Luis Junior remix of Inverted Pole.

His Inverted pole track was the first strong supported track, by John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Martin Garcia and a lot of other people. and later this being released as an EP on Flow Recordings with the original track with 2 remixes from Luis Junior (Bedrock) & Oliver Deutschmann (Falkplatz Rec)

From the official remixes, there's his remix with Kevin Di Serna on DAVI "Lucid Dreaming" track wich was released as an EP on the great American Los Angeles based label, Subtract Music, wich has already released great tracks from artists like Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile, Robert Babicz, Whebba, or also the Guy J's remix of Gill Norris "Forme" track.

Simon loves to make his interpretation on tracks he listen everyday and means something to him, thats why he has done a lot of no official remixes. His remix of Radiohead's "Separator" has been strongly supported by Nick Warren on his sound garden show on frisky radio, and also supported on his live sets for example at WMC Winter Music Conference 2012 with Hernan Cattaneo, also in Amsterdam in a open air day party, and to name one more: Ministry of sound london with a back to back set with Hernan Cattaneo.

He made other unnonficial mixes of Guy J's "Fly" made with Kevin Di Serna, wich was played by Hernan Cattaneo on his delta weekly radioshow "Resident", or Guy J's "Been Here Before" with Santi Mossman. Or his currently working on remix of Morcheeba with Andy Arias.
Also his disco interpretation of Rolling In The Deep from Adele, or his progressive Coldplay remix on "Major Minus".
His latest no official interpretations are his remix of Hector & Sis - ORALE . wich has been charted on may 2012 on the top 10 tracks of the month by Guy J, and also included on his set in Bahrein Buenos Aires earlier in the year.

His latest remix was on the classic from Rennie Foster "Devil's Waters" co-worked with Kevin Di Serna, and being played by Hernan Cattaneo at Moonpark XXV on the 8th of december 2012.

Actually Simon is working on lot of new material, mainly Original tracks, and some interesting remixes to look out for. Always looking for great melodies, also good groove to keep the dance floor up, and the mixture of both creates that style that he wants to deliver everytime he make music or play on live shows.

        06. Clarian - U [Visionquest | VQ 024]

Steadily mining gold in an ever-evolving electronic landscape, the Visionquest imprint gets set to unleash an incredibly special 6-track EP from Clarian - one half of the supreme duo Footprintz. Collaborating with the always-innovative Guy Gerber on the opener, Clarian voyages solo throughout the rest of the EP – a collective of ‘Chemical Gardens’ for a sonically re-imagined Blade Runner kingdom.

Beach Boys oohs on top of Camino 808 lines with Morriconne style piano licks over a zombie meets deep house track - the ‘Chemical Gardens EP’ is a patchwork of cross-genres and moods. The A-side covers ethereal sunrise magic and cosmic oddities opening with ‘Claire’ featuring Guy Gerber - an emotive beauty in which dubby beats dissolve into a motif of synth stabs, sweet electronic melodies and rising waves of filtered vox. ‘Destroy, She Says’ is a haunting dream of hypnotic keys and heavy drums while ‘Renaissance’ is simply a magical set closer that alludes to an innocent era of rave.

Taking the listener deeper into the night ‘Remove Control’ kicks off the B-side with a jagged electronic bassline tight snares and shakers and a powerful vocal while ‘Through Your Mind feat. J’ drops a heavy dose of acid with a mechanical sleazy vibe. Closing track ‘U’ is all about the build against the naked drum groove, moody bass synths and echoing vox. Clarian’s chemical gardens and Visionquest are clearly meant to be and these shimmering towers of sound are likely to remain a highlight of the imprints illustrious cannon. A truly innovative and groundbreaking release, that further cements Clarian’s standing as an incredible talent.

        07. Rodskeez - School of Thought (Jamie Stevens Golden Return Remix) [Vapour Recordings | VR126]

Vapour is back with the first release for 2012 and who better to start of the year with other than a Rodskeez release?Rodskeez is back with a track that has been circulating for a long time. School of Thought is a serious 3am heads down deep tech houser that will put you in a hypnotic state. On the remix tip we have Jamie Stevens who turns in this absolute stunner of a version definitely not to be missed. this man never lets us down! This track is one that has been a favourite of ours for a very long time and it's finally great to be able to share it with you all. Enjoy!

        08. Mikael Stavöstrand - The Other One' (Simon Garcia's Tunnel Vision Dub) (Midnight Machines EP) [Amam | AMAM 023]

Los Angeles-based producers Mikael Stavöstrand and [a]pendics.shuffle are no strangers to followers of cutting-edge dance music from the past decade or so. They first teamed up back in 2006 for a pair of releases on [a]pendics.shuffle's own Adjunct, and individually they've worked with a plethora of other respected labels including Mo's Ferry, Leftroom and Clink. Now, their first collaborative release for AMAM comes in the form of the Midnight Machines EP, including remixes by Alessio Mereu and Simon Garcia. The Other One is based on a propulsive shuffle of percussion that's contrasted by lingering atmospheric flourishes that David Lynch would approve of this one pairs well with the fog machine! The atonal bursts of brass come without warning, suggesting a Loch Ness monster rearing its head from the shadowy waters, giving the track an element of suspense. Then, Simon Garcia, also known as Kornelius and Larakki, adds a bright sheen to the track, taking into dubby house territory that provides the aural equivalent of tunnel vision as its subtitle suggests. On the flipside, AMAM head honcho Alessio Mereu offers the most kinetic version with its clattering rhythmic arrangement. Finally, Mikael and [a]pendics close out the EP with another original, the namesake of the EP:. Midnight Machines boldly combines a laid-back bassline, a Tchaikovskyesque loop, plasmatic synth tones and deranged vocal outbursts, all retrofitted onto a teutonic grid. The full 10-minute version is available as a digital download, with the vinyl edit condensing its exponential evolution into a mere 7 minutes either way, this cut is definitely one of the more adventurous trips your ears will take this year.

Early Support: Dj T, Ivan Smagghe, Luciano, Paco Osuna, Alex Niggemann, Joel Mull, DJ W!LD, Chaim, Mihai Popoviciu, Hooved, Mr. Statik, Joseph Capriati, Luca Bacchetti, Tobia Coffa, Martin Eyerer, Someone Else, Alland Byallo, Nico Lahs, Salvatore Freda, David Durango, Ed Davenport, Gabriele Carasco, Tim Xavier, Todd Bodine, Markantonio, Re-UP, , AFFKT, Edu Imbernon, Clubbingspain and more.

        09. Marco Bailey - The Falcon (High Volume LP) [MB Elektronics | MBE100]

“High Volume” is an exciting snapshot of Belgiums finest techno DJ/Producer, a man who likes to think outside the box and explore his fascination with a diverse musical palette, creating a unique blend of underground sounds. The advantage of the album format (and one reason why it is so important in artistic terms) is that it gives Marco the freedom to express himself musically to his full potential. This album includes his beloved percussive techno club monsters, alongside his firebrand pumped up tech-house and his experimental down-tempo electronica all expressed out in 13 unique tracks.
