              Release Notes:

              01. Marko Melo - Underwater [Reelaux Digital | RLXD12020]

Portugal based prog house producer, Marko Melo is one of the hottest new talents of his country. He started producing in 2008. Since then, he is developing his style with every release. Underwater is dominated by a heavy, rather moody bass-line and some spacey pads, which give the track a special, underwater atmosphere. The remix comes from Andy Weed, who needs no introduction for the fans of Reelaux Digital, since he has already shown what prog house is about. This time, he added even more dreamy elements to the original and created that characteristic Andy Weed sound. Top tune for November!

              Released by: Reelaux Digital
              Release date: Nov 19, 2012

              02. Nils Hoffmann - Balloons (Martin Roth Remix) [Poesie Musik | POM004]

Its not an everyday thing that a 16 year old DJ starts his production career with a 1.2 million plays strong track on YouTube. 'Balloons', by Berlin based Nils Hoffmann, is one of those examples that a new generation is knocking on the door. 'Balloons' was made available on SoundCloud in early 2012 and made its way through various free download possibilities on the net. This results in Nils DJ career immediately taking off, and he is in demand all over Europe to play clubs next to his regular high school duties.

For this Get Physical Music / Poesie Musik official release of 'Balloons' Nils Hoffmann reworked the original with a brand new mix. 'Balloons' reflects Nils's idea of emotional deep house music with a retro feel, a trademark of Nils due to his vintage influences, casts a warm shine over the track. Chugging bass and a straightforward percussion track hold the mix up as it builds with is musically inclined structure and feel, setting an unmistakable and catchy groove.

Martin Roth is known for his pop-infused genre blenders, catching the ears of a very diverse selection of fans around the world. He delivers a fantastic epic remix following his own hit record 'Beautiful Life'. Martin starts out the mix low, opting to build the track ambience slowly paired with a 4/4 kick. From there he adds various elements to thicken the vibe, turning gears and throwing in a bass element with a very analogue feel, matching the vintage style set by Nils. Martin sets a bold mood here, and tops it with a break perfect for the deepest late night dance floors.

AKA AKA & Thalstroem team up to pump up the energy levels. Straight out of the gate with kicks and vocal cuts - this is the 'pick me up' you were waiting for. Chord-play creeps in next to the synth and shows us the way to the floor. It's a big mix, and a secret winter hit.

              Release/catalogue number: POM004

              03. Kevin Toro - Northern Lights [unreleased]

Kevin Toro is an emerging progressive DJ and producer from Buenos Aires.

His passion for music started listening to bands like Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode and others. These bands influenced his style for electronic music taking it to the side of progressive and deep house for its blend of melodies and percussion that create a great atmosphere.

His first contact with electronic music was listening Hernan Cattaneo when he was 14 years old, who is a big influence on his music, almost Martin Garcia, Sasha, Eelke Kleijn (official) and others.

In 2010 Kevin defined his musical style and began playing in various clubs of Buenos Aires as Niceto Club among others. Kevin is working on his first productions.

              04. Miguel Bastida & Florian Kaltstrřm - Glasso Phone (De Barcelona a Viena EP) [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-30]

You may recognise “Behind The Mirror” as being the excellent closing track on CD2 of John Digweed’s latest “Live In London” 4xCD mix compilation on Bedrock. Spain’s Miguel Bastida and Austria’s Florian Kaltstrřm have joined forces with Florian’s fellow countrymen Emil Berliner, Philip Straub and Christoph Abele (aka caTekk) to great a stunning 4-track EP to kick off 2013 in style.

“Behind The Mirror” is all about elegant rhythms, powerful percussion, deep, driving bass and brooding atmospheres, making it a standout track. Emil Berliner (who takes his artist name from the German-born American inventor who is best known for developing the disc record gramophone in the 1890’s) takes things into deeper tech-house territory with his delicious dub-influenced tech re-work.

“Glasso Phone” develops a more organic vibe with vocal snippets over a hypnotic, hissing, percussive backdrop. This is a theme that is expanded upon by Philipp Straub and CaTekk as they develop an absorbing rollercoaster bass heavy groove with their unforgettable remix.

The “De Barcelona a Viena EP” is the first of many exciting new releases coming on Bedrock in 2013. Watch out!

              09. Eelke Kleijn - Eenvoud (Navar Remix) [Outside The Box Music | OTB078]

Eelke Kleijn's Outside The Box Music label is back this week for a remix edition of his 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' EP which was released in October of 2012. 'Eenvoud' was considered by many to be one of the Dutch producers best melodic records to date while 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' struck a chord with many with for its quirky brilliance. The new interpretations here are provided by Navar, MUUI and Praveen Achary.

The first interpretation comes from Eelko Wijnja aka Navar who is making his first appearance on Outside The Box here. The Dutch producer has been a firm favourite of Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo in recent months and we love his deep, hypnotic style as well. Here he reinvents 'Eenvoud' into a smooth, melodic techno construction that is full of vitality. The warm bass tones, incandescent electronics and eerily subtle vocal pads create a wonderful flow full of emotions as the track reaches the main break. Here the low end really shines with surging walls of chord changes which push the emotions higher. The drop peaks with some squirrely electronics and tension filled tones which should do some serious damage on the dance floor as the warm groove drops back in for an epic moment.

The next interpretation comes from MUUI who overhauls 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' quite nicely. If you are not familiar with MUUI then you are really missing out, he's an Australian producer with an incredibly unique and eclectic style which is full of fresh sounds and ideas. For his 'Kitten of Mass Destruction' remix MUUI has crafted an incredibly funky, low slung groove which should create some serious momentum on the floor. The glassy bells provide some cool melodic hooks and the piece flows extremely well with some enchanting atmospheres elevating the senses as the track reaches a smooth apex.

The final remix on the package comes from Praveen Achary who is making his debut on Outside The Box here. The Indian producer has continued to rise through the electronic music underground in 2012 with appearances on Baires Records, Mirabilis and Proton's heavily influential Compiled & Mixed series. Praveen's 'Juicebox' radio show continues to dominate the friskyRadio airwaves with the freshest electronic music and a forthcoming label under the 'Juicebox Music' name is set to launch later on this year as well. With 2013 now underway Praveen has just come off a spectacular single for Cid Inc's Replug imprint entitled 'Space Machine'. The production has enjoyed an extended stay in the Beatport progressive house charts and the Cid Inc. Remix was selected as Beatport's Must Hear Progressive House record for the week of its release. For his 'Flierefluiter' interpretation Praveen has crafted a deep and sultry tech house rework that really hits the spot. A remarkably spacious and well shaped bass line sits at the foundation while some beautifully textured tones and aquatic electronics tease the senses nicely throughout. Another top production from Praveen who we expect big things from in 2013.

Part 2 is simply amazing, the sort of deep melodic hypnotic music I love to get lost in during a live set
