    Many happy returns to Blue Monday, FAC 73, released thirty years ago today on March 7th 1983. For the anniversary John Digweed and Nick Muir have contributed a special anniversary remix.




    02. Paul Ritch - Asteroid [Quartz Rec. | QRZ023]

    The name Paul Ritch echoes around the world. His productions and live sets, charged with pure adrenaline and characterised by his powerful, harmonic, and deep techno, have made him the holder of a unique mark of sounds in which his passion and power transmit numerous memorable music moments.

    In 2009 Paul brought to life his own label Quartz Rec, the label puts forward minimalistic sounds that are blunt, sharp and energetic. The label is a testament of the ability Paul has to achieve perfection. With his first release, "Split EP Part 1" (Paul Ritch, 200, he held the top 2 position in sales on Beatport, reaching over 11.000 downloads. Therefore, in 2009 Paul Ritch was nominated by Beatport as a candidate for best techno artist. Nowadays, the Paris resident Paul Ritch is considered to be one of the most highly regarded artists and producers in the global electronic scene.




    03. Phonogenic - Laine (Underground Sound Of Miami Series 2) [Bedrock Records | BEDMIAMICD2]

    11 totally exclusive tracks from the second Undergound Sound Of Miami release from the mighty Bedrock label selected by John Digweed. Featuring some new artists to the label alongside some of the labels favourite producers in the form of Robert Babicz, Pig&Dan, Marco Bailey and Guy J alongside an excellent bonus mixed version from Stelios Vassiloudis.

    Bio

    Tuomas Salmela (aka Phonogenic) hails from sunny old Finland and has been working the European dance music underground for quite some time now. You may be familiar with his slammin' releases on 20:20 VISION, MOODMUSIC, POKER FLAT or even the late Chicago giant GUIDANCE. Well, how about his own label then, PHONOGENIC AUDIO, one of the coolest new labels to come out of Scandinavia.

    In 2007 Tuomas released quite a few dope Phonogenic 12”s on such labels as Moodmusic (“Orange Leaves”), KICKBOXER (“Rooma”), DANCE ELECTRIC (“Swedish Taboo”). The überhot Dubfire (Ali of Deep Dish fame) has included Phonogenic “Space Hooker” on his November 2007 Mixmag cover CD. Late 2007 saw the first Phonogenic 12” release on Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings, titled “The Last Beer on Earth”. The release has seen a lot of support from some of the biggest DJs around and the title track was featured in BBC Radio One Essential Mix by John Digweed.

    Tuomas has also been collaborating with his long time friend Jori Hulkkonen on a brand new project signed to GET PHYSICAL MUSIC. As DISCEMI they took their groove experteaze and soundscaping professionalism to a next level for the acclaimed "Tango Or Cash EP". And like that wasn't enough, the follow-up titled “Data Sapiens” was released on the sizzling hot UK imprint REKIDS. Also included is a scorching remix by the Rekids head honcho Radio Slave.




    04. Obrotka - Diablo [Abstract Music | ABSTR002]

    Limited release info.

    Label head Obrotka Norbert (aka Godspeed) of Budapest (Hungary) brings us the second release of his label. Founded as a sub-imprint to Astronaut Music, Abstract Music Label was born in the summer of 2010 aimed at a not so commercial, underground sound.




    05. Fabian Schumann - Dash [Mangue Records | MANGUE022]

    Dresden's Fabian Schumann founded Mangue Records in 2009 with Roman Capek (aka Black Vel).

    Fabian´s newest EP comes with Remixes from Buddy Black Vel and Mister Martin Books (Shaker Plates, Deich, Supdub). vinyl + mp3.

    Kris Menaces third single Trusting Me' from his debut vocal album 'Features' is a collaboration with House Legend, Robert Owens and an outstanding peace of electronic music. The Video was filmed by WeMakeColors who bought a beautiful pictured heartbreaking Video to date. Kriss last videos have received a Vimeo Stuff Pick and had been presented by MTV.com. The remix package for Trusting Me' includes mixes from Kitsun Artist Le Crayon, Dusty Kid, Penner & Muder, Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt, Phunktastike, Taras 3000 and the Winner of the Beatport Remix Competition, which was made for the release.

    The remix package for ’Trusting Me' includes mixes from Kitsuné producer Le Crayon, Dusty Kid, Mixmag loving Penner & Muder, Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt, Phunktastike, Taras 9000 and Piconome, Winner of the 'Trusting Me’ remix competition on Beatport. Piconome managed to beat nearly 300 entrants to make it onto the single release.

          The photo is from Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos Greece and John rocked the club that day. He started at 5:30 am and ended his set at 15:30 - he was so hyped and drunk that he dived into the pool

                top mix...is there a more dance floor version of blue monday?

                those 2 bedrock tracks are mental....heard video, was like its ok, not hq so just ok....heard it in the mix.... fffffffuuuuccckkkk! !!!

                To hear it on a good sound system...you lucky f***er simon.

                  octopus records are one of those labels that don't discount their tracks over time...had a good nikola gala techno track in my crate for a month and price didnt change.
