EGG LONDON ANNOUNCES 10 x 10
EGG London has now been at the top of its game for a whole decade, and to celebrate they are throwing some incredible parties under the theme 10 x 10. Yep, there will be ten in all, each one bulging with big names and some of them playing very special 10 hour sets.
The club has recently been working on plenty of changes, and for the birthday month of May will have an increased capacity of over 2000 people with both rooms one and two transformed into something new and exciting. On top of that the club’s usual light, lasers and sound system will be fully loaded and ready to go…
And so to the parties –on Friday May 3rd Reboot, Dani Casarano and Dosem all play, whilst Crosstown act Fur Coat take over the second room. A day after on the Saturday, it’s the turn of house music aficionado Dubfire to play for a full ten hours with support from UTO Karem and Luca C & Brigante and Tom Taylor.
The ensuing eight parties feature the likes of Canadian duo Art Department, gypsy house man Riva Starr and Defected’s Italian starlet Pirupa, who play for ten hours back to back.
So too will house legend Felix da Housecat go at it head to head for ten hours with a very special guest as Italian star Leon plays in room two, whilst Circus comes to town and will see boss Yousef play back to back for an hour or so with French techno pioneer Laurent Garnier.
Also included in the month of madness is an afterparty for the first ever WE Are FSTVL which will see Martinez & Sascha Dive, Kerri Chandler, No Artificial Colours, PBR Streetgang all play in one night, and closing out the month will be America’s legendary spinner Danny Tenaglia, also playing for ten hours, which, frankly, is the man’s natural habitat set-length wise. There are a couple more headliners to be announced in the coming weeks but all in all it’s going to be a month to remember at the institution that is EGG London.

Reboot, Luca Agnelli, Fur Coat
May kicks off with a Cadenza heavy line-up at EGG London.
First up from the label will be Reboot – the German tech specialist whose loopy sounds have seen him become one of the most in demand DJs of the day. Fusing fluttery Latin vibes with tribal beats, he plays all over Europe, the US and Ibiza to adoring fans every time.
Next, Luca Agnelli, from Tuscany, DJ, producer and remixer in constant evolution, is always looking for new targets and more challenges, experimenting uncommon paths and inventing innovative languages. Eclectic, creative, curious and involving, Luca has a unique style which transmits passion and adrenaline, dreams and emotions. His sets are marked by the art of sound manipulation and style pollution, challenging standards and prejudices, playing wisely with technology and everything that enables him to change and produce music reworks.
Finally, Fur Coat are a Venezuelan duo plucked by Damain Lazarus for his influential Crosstown Rebels imprint. They have released one heart warming full length of tortured vocals and warm beats and have turned in plenty of great remixes between gigs around the world at the leading clubs and festivals.

It is hard to over-estimate the achievements of Kenny Glasgow and Jonny White’s Art Department. Though each has their own respected solo discography, the Canadians’ work together has transcended scenes and sounds like few others could. As well as accolades including “hottest duo in dance music” from dance outlets like DJ Mag, and being awarded the 2010 Track of the Year for their breakout hit ‘Without You’ by Resident Advisor, so too have the duo featured in wider press including Vogue, Vibe and I Magazine, thereby confirming them to be a rare thing in the electronic world.

Tonight is another big EGG birthday celebration with a special 10 hour B2B set that will pitch Snatch Records boss Riva Star and his jump up electro house sounds with label mate and rising Italian Desolat star Pirupa. Expect plenty of basslines, bad ass grooves and charismatic sampling that will have you sweating for the whole duration.

Tonight our headliner with go back to back with a very special guest.
In a world obsessed with labelling an ever-evolving genre, Felix da Housecat is dedicated to making the people dance. He is one of those rare, charisma-oozing characters, whose musical and mental eccentricity come from a genuine place. He’s never afraid to take a risk to reach new ground. It’s this blend of qualities that has kept him in such high reverence in the electronic field for two decades now, and which has ensured that his music has been a consistently captivating force.
He will be joined by Snatch, Desolat and Cecille producer Leon who has made waves from his native Italy with a party ready sound that pairs hip hop with house and tech.

Christian Smith, Jay Lumen
Born in Sweden but growing up in Germany, Christian Smith has combined the two countries’ revered techno blueprints into his own unique sonic palette for decades. Now Brazil based, Smith’s sound has grown from stripped back and heads down in the early days to being more melodically experimental and… darn right funky on later productions like his most recent full length, Director’s Cut. Since first emerging, the respected likes of Drumcode, Bedrock, and Renaissance are the ones to have come calling for this mans sounds, time and time again. Of course, since 1994, Smith has also steered his Tronic label through myriad big releases of his own, but also those from talents like Umek, Marc Romboy and Edu Imbernon.

Tonight Liverpool’s famous Circus comes to town with boss Yousef playing his usual blend of house and tech, and French techno innovator also plays.
Little needs to be said of F Comms boss Laurent Garnier, who has fomented his own unique and cerebral techno sound for decades across many EPs, LPs and spectacular live shows.
