        Release Notes:

        01. Manuel Moreno - Switchback (Afrilounge Deep Pattern Mix) [Katchuli Records | KATCH014]

Released on the Mannheim (DE) based Katchuli imprint. Played by: Sascha Dive, Mandy, Nick Curly, Maceo Plex, James Teej, Alex Niggemann.

Fresh deep house music coming from swiss based talent Manuel Moreno. 2 timeless minimal deep house tracks with catchy vocals and driving bass-lines kick ass on every floor. Afrilounge completes the package with 2 different remix interpretations of the Switchback original. Perfect music for the upcoming open air season!

Founded in 2002 by Eduard Hartter, Markus Liefke and Richard Rotfuß, coming from Köln, Karlsruhe and (home base) Berlin, the collective effort under the name Afrilounge have released dozens of tracks on high profile labels like Steve Bugs Pokerflat Recordings, M.A.N.D.Y.'s and Booka Shade's Get Physical Music, Nick Curlys 8bit Records and Connaisseur Recordings.

        02. P.A.C.O and Tube & Berger - Greyjoy (Einmusik Remix) [Kittball | KITT043]

Is this Epic? Yes! But be honest, who of you is really reading these press texts? If we'd tell you that P.A.C.O. and Tube & Berger's "Greyjoy" is the dopest cream pie in the gang bang world of music, would you believe us? Not to mention that the flipside "Tyrion" was produced by P.A.C.O. sitting in a Cave in the middle of Kasachstan wearing only a pink tanga. So: No more words, just music.

Includes a remix from Berlin's Einmusik (aka Samuel Kindermann) which focuses on more of a groove and club feel.

        Release/catalogue number: KITT043
        Release date: Mar 11, 2013

        03. Sasch - Marian (Marc Poppcke Remix) (Anniversary 01 EP) [Steyoyoke | SYKK008]

In celebration of the labels emergence within the industry, Steyoyoke has put together a special remix EP to be released on the evening of its first anniversary party. The EP is made up of five remixes from some of the industries most talented djs and producers and testifies the labels recognition since its launch. The selection of tracks shows off some of the labels most successful releases within its first year but also the diversity of sounds that it holds within its locker.

The EP starts off with Oxiaʼs remix of ʻShineʼ from Soul Button. A strong and progressive remix that leaves you wanting more is exactly what the Frenchman has done here. The remix is well deserved to the hard work and outstanding sounds that have been produced over the last year from Soul Button.

The next remix gives a firm shake to the whole EP with a bass heavy tech-house anthem from Nick Devon. Remains of the original track are hard to find but the eccentric and provocative vocals of Bartokʼs Cherries linger seductively over this pulsating remix.

Iʼm Fine and Antonio Olivieriʼs ray of summer light, ʻYour Ghostʼ, has been dragged into the dark by Aki Bergen and Daniel Jaze for this remix. A haunting sample follows you within the track, leaving you hypnotised to the beat and provoking reaction that leaves you with no choice but to make your way to the dance-floor.

Marc Poppcke stands and delivers for the next remix with an uplifting and swirling affair of Saschʼs ʻMarianʼ. Gradually building energy throughout the track, the remix holds that sense of yearning for that prevails within the work of Marc Poppcke.

The last but by no means least remix to feature on the EP is by Mat.Joe. Dahu has seen much recognition over the last year and would have no quibble to this remix of his lethargically beautiful ʻFalunʼ. The remix takes a more driven stance with a funky beat and a persistent organ loop to make you move your feet.

The vinyl will be available to purchase at Steyoyokeʼs birthday party on the 22nd February at Ritter Butzke. The artists themselves will also be performing on the night and will no doubt be featuring the remixes within their sets for the night. So come along and help celebrate what has been an outstanding year for Steyoyoke with one hell of a party.

        04. Sid Le Rock - Here We Are [My Favorite Robot Records | MFR074]

Sid Le Rock looks to the release of his fourth artist album, this time teaming up with the in-demand My Favorite Robot Records label for March’s ‘Busted with a Bag of Bliss'.

Canadian born Sheldon Thompson AKA Sid Le Rock has been wowing music lovers with his unique electronic fusion sound since first bursting on to the scene almost 10 years ago. Based in Germany for the last decade, Thompson has been a musical inspiration for many, with a string of stunning releases through leading labels such as Ladomat 2000 and Shitkatapult. As well as recording a trio of artist albums for these imprints, he has been behind the creative and successful Cereal/Killers and Beachcoma labels and has had an extremely prolific decade with his Pan/Tone moniker.

Now the one time Toronto resident is joining forces with what is undoubtedly one of the cities leading record labels, the much-lauded My Favorite Robot Records. MFRR (as it’s known to its friends) has been around for 4 years now, but it is in the last 6 months that the label has made the leap from 12” single releases to full-length albums closing out 2012 with long players from the both Jori Hulkkonen and the excellent Fairmont. Sid Le Rock’s ‘Busted With a Bag of Bliss’ will be the label’s first LP of 2013 and is set to be their biggest album to date.

Thompson opens up this latest musical opus with the deep and emotive ‘Here We Are’ and sets the tone for the rest of LP with a fusion of haunting vocals and synth lead electronica. The album comprises 11 original compositions that take in the outer realms of pulsing techno, vivid electro and evocative retro fuelled soundscapes. From the dark refrains of ‘Nomad’ to the near euphoric synth melodies of ‘Bag of Bliss’ and onto the arpegiated 80’s rhythms of ‘Trans-Am Radio’ there is a genuine diversity here, yet the whole things is tied beautifully together by Thompson’s rock solid production and vision for the album as a whole.

‘Busted with a Bag of Bliss’ is without a doubt a stellar addition to the My Favorite Robot Records catalogue, fitting as it does with the label’s musical ethos of twisted dance/indie fusion. For Sid Le Rock it is perhaps his most accomplished LP to date and is certain to set fires alight when it hits the streets in the spring of 2013, enjoy.

His Perspectives radio show and podcast, along with his frequent guest appearances on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, allow him to reach tens of thousands of listeners on a regular basis.

Darin launched his record label Perspectives Digital in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. The label has seen releases from D:Fuse, Mike Hiratzka, Michael Burns/Blue Haze, Silinder, Juan Deminicis and Ian O'Donovan plus remixes from the likes of Estroe, Jamie Stevens, Eelke Kleijn, Dousk, Cid Inc, Luis Junior, Deepfunk and Andre Sobata.

        06. Doomwork - One Religion [Tenax Recordings | TNX 057]

For TNX057 we are really proud to release the return of Doomowrk after their debut 0101 EP on Tenax Recordings [TNX 052]. It's a big pleasure for the Tenax crew have them on board again; fresh of their debut on Cocoon, now back on Tenax Recordings with two tracks that represent their musical output at 100% : dark, hypnotic and groovy.

        Bio

Rome's Doomwork may be summed up and identified in one single term: “unconventional”. Musically grown in the early years of the new millennium – when Italian dance had its point of apex- Alessandro and Claudio started to looking for darker sonority ; the path for the discovering of Detroit’s “Techno” music scene and its founders was short: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Jeff Mills.

Alessandro and Claudio decided collaborating together in 2008 and thus giving start to the Doomwork project. They soon reached the top of the Beatport chart, the famous reference portal of world modern club culture, with the song “Isla” first (two months n°1 in the deep house chart),and “Jazzy Stuff” then (two months n°1 in the general chart, resulting as the top selling record of 2009) and scoring again with “Groovin” (one month n°1 in the deep house chart, boasting one of the world deep house guru’s remix: Milton Jackson). In 2010 they are among the nominees of the Beatport Awards in the “the best deep house track” session, obtaining a second price with their track “Lost in memory”.

2011 saw the launch of their “Retouch Recordings” label, with the new projects that seem to be more important than the previous years, a new 100%PURE release and the debut on “Audiomatique”, Steve Bug’s label (Trentemoller latest album was released on the same label, just for the record), and together with their first concept album soon to be made.

        Released by: Tenax Recordings
        Release/catalogue number: TNX057

        07. WayWork & Cris Xalambri - Black Way (Cut Knob Remix) [Stellar Fountain Deep | SFRD005]

The 5th release of Stellar Fountain Deep comes from Argentina. WayWork and Cris Xalambi joined their forces, to take us on a deep, progressive trip called 'Black Way'. The package also contains remixes by Beat Maniacs and Cut Knob. 'Black Way' in original mix is the unique combination of melodies and feelings. The guys created a quite slow, 117 BPM tempo, with gentle soundscapes. Beat Maniacs created a pretty tune, with all the elements that required to be a dancefloor bomb. Cut Knob did what they know the best, draw a progressive picture with powerful textures laying on energetic beats.

        Bio

Hailing from Medellin (Colombia), BoomCardona and Diego Gómez are the epitome of Deep + Dark Progressive House. Their motto is "the deeper and the darker the better". They formed Cut Knob from the profound need to do what they really like, not to supply crap music to the decadent mainstream. When Djing, they always stamp their own mark on everything they play: deep and dark music tailored to the dancefloor. Cut Knob are highly demanded as remixers because of the exceptional character they put on every track. They have worked hard to get their unique sound and are very proud of it.

        08. East Cafe - Question One (Nikko.Z Remix) [Per-vurt Records | Promo]

Early support from Hernán Cattáneo. Forthcoming on Per-vurt, incl. remix from Nikko. Z

Greece's Nikko.Z expressed his great love for music from an early age, with early influences like ‘Pink Floyd’ and ‘The Doors’ being taken over by djs 'Hernan Cattaneo', ‘Sasha' and 'John Digweed' as electronic music's inspiration grew bigger, leading him to make is own music and attend the SAE International Institute (Athens) and graduating in electronic music production.

Over the past six years he has created several productions (in his own studio). More than 20 different labels throughout the world have trusted and released his productions from Baroque, Balkan Connection, Stripped, Movement, Lowbit, Crossfade, Saound Avenue and Vapour Recordings ... to remixing Rich Curtis's 'Open Other End' for Sudbeat Music.
