It's a special welcome for Laurent Garnier in our 25th Anniversary slot, who last featured on the show back in 2005 (here: DepositFiles ). His mix takes us on a journey through his Soundtrack collection and laced with dialog throughout. It opens with epic strings courtesy of Morton Gould and into Blixa Bargeld and Nick Cave's original score for Ghosts of the Civil Dead. Then it's Herbie Hancock from 'Round Midnight', David Holmes from Ocean's Eleven and Lalo Schiffrin from Enter the Dragon. His fellow countrymen are represented by Serge Gainsbourg, Jean Pierre Mirouze, Michel Magne and Francois de Roubaix, and it wouldn't be complete without Solid Steel favourite David Shire and The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3.

Solid Steel (5th April) In keeping with our celebratory year, we have Marcus Maack aka Vinylizer opening the show this week. He was one of the first people to syndicate Solid Steel in the late nineties in Germany and had his first mix featured on the show in 1999, as well as playing at the London Solid Steel club night in 2004. He sets up nicely with 'Story of the heaviest bassline' and into James Blake, a footwork marathon featuring Chrissy Murderbot, DJ Rashad and Cadenza, plus classic Missy Elliot, Dawn Day Night and recent guest Om unit.
You can catch Marcus playing alongside DJ Food and DK tonight 5th April at the legendary Mojo club in Hamburg.
DK switches the tempo with Dobie ripping up Lafayette Afro Rock Band. Then it's another cut from Romare, an album track from Bonobo and L-Vis 1990 putting his stamp on legendary Galaxy 2 Galaxy. We close with new music from Mr Beatnick and an African double with Owiny Sigoma Band and Orchestre Poly-Rythmo De Cotonou reissued by the excellent Analog Africa.
