    The Shining (1980)

To create a thread dedicated to the epic horror instant-classic that this movie is. Watched it again last night and couldn't shake just how well the entire thing was pieced together. The Cinematography, the musical score, the silence in the scenes that absolutely deserved them, the hallowed hallways, the gradual degradation of Nicholson's Psyche, the phenomenal expressions that Shelley Duvall planted through the scenes, the subliminal hints at what (and why) little Danny experiences the things he does, just brilliant.

    A still very relevant 8.5 / 10

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

Haven't watched it in ages, I'll have to dig it out again.

Watched it a couple of months ago, always a captivating film and perfectly played role by Nicholson as mentioned.

It was fun while it lasted...

Hey Kamal, if you liked The Shining, you might want to check out the documentary "Room 237", which dissects and analyzes a bunch of different theories behind what Stanley Kubrick was trying to say.

        Room 237 - Movie Trailers - iTunes

Some of the theories get a bit out there - one theory suggests that he was secretly confessing to having a hand in faking the moon landing, but you got to admire the passion some of the people have towards this movie and their perception of what the movie is about.

Unfortunately, they don't go the extra mile and get all these guys into a room and have them duel out their theories against each other.

Cheers man, I just came to know of Room 237 last Wednesday and saw the trailer (VCR with the blood flying out). It's got some mental ratings on RottenTomatoes. Really waiting for that one.

that sounds interesting and totally insane at the same time!!

Horror movie in hotel equals fake moon landings - at least we'll get to see on camera.

This is a good watch as well, if you are into behind the scenes footage like myself.

I watched this movie at far too young an age. that being said, it remains one of my favourites.
