                      Release Notes:

                      01. Ultrasone - High Dawn (Tokyo Dust EP) [Maison D'Etre | MDE 006]

After a breakthrough moment with the highly popular "Breath N Pop", Igor Vicente and Vernon Bara aka "Ultrasone " have surfaced to delight us with their very unique and distinctive sound. Choosing to hone their craft and identity through their carefully orchestration, Ultrasone are the guys to be watching. So we are very proud to have them deliver us this unique and memorable EP.

“High Dawn” is glitchy and a journey through darkness and light. Unrepeatable for its very unusual beats and very special middle section. This track is for moments when you want a change - it is a killer.

“Tokyo Dusk”, possibly the most evocative, emotional, sunrise track that you will listen to this spring (on a beach in South America, hopefully!) Sultry and crackly this lofty tune is about to take hold of your cerebral cord.

For your listening pleasure a third track is being released digitally called “Electric Orchestra”. It is stubbly spiced with scratchy vocals, and a bouncy kick. The versed listener is going to love this for its unique style and pop.

If you don't like this EP, we aren't offended. It's quite doubtful that one would have the ease or sophistication to be able to appreciate the quality or depth of these tracks. Happy Listening

                      Vinyl: 13 Feb 2013 / Digital: 27 Mar 2013

                      02. Ednner Soares - An Dosage (UvO's Over Dose) [Balkan Connection | Promo]

Kevin Rodriguez (aka UvO) is based in the USA and has been shot into the progressive house spotlight of late with Hernan Cattaneo playing and charting several of his productions, and 'False Forms' featuring on Resident 098. Uvo is a Dj producer focused on electronic music sub genres like deep, progressive & techno.

                      03. Andrew McDonnell - One Day In Kowloon (Train to Motoyawata EP) [Particles | PSI1313]

Toronto native, Andrew McDonnell is the latest in a long line of successful Canadian progressive house exports to grace the electronic scene. Following in the footsteps of Shiloh, Soundprank and Biologik, Andrew's stock has risen steadily since his first work for Atlantdigital and Proton Limited in 2009. A qualified audio engineer in broadcast television, McDonnell's contribution to the Proton family is noteworthy, not least in a score of releases that have graced the Apollo label, including highly regarded, "The Deep South" EP with opening track "Jim Bob Duggar" supported by Hernan Cattaneo on his "Resident" show.

Andrew's own "Groove Control" show on Proton Radio also debuted in 2010 after a successful run of guest slots caught the listening public's imagination. Riding on the crest of a wave of successful releases, "Train To Motoyawata" marks Andrew's first solo release on the Particles label with a trio of tracks underpinned by a geographical theme based upon the sights, sounds and images of the Far East. Accompanied by striking perpendicular abstract artwork, Proton design guru, Ben Mautner captures the essence of the EP by imaginatively drawing upon impressions of train lines and their station points from photographs of Hong Kong at night.

Marking a growing maturity to his work, McDonnell's opener, "Train to Motoyawata" is a prime example of music's ability to conjure up visual images. A hypnotic arpeggio riff forms the bedrock of the track and is the perfect essence of the sound of a train running along its tracks as it filters a path in and out of the listener's consciousness. Parallels with Pink Floyd's 'journey sequence' from "Dark Side of the Moon" are not amiss here. A straightforward kick drum and snare combination form a constant metronome as reverb and delay-drenched keys invoke aural images of distant night-time train horns.

"One Day in Kowloon" continues the far eastern theme, named after the densely populated Hong Kong district. Once again, a deep languid aura fills the frequency range with a dark foreboding while a straight rhythmic component is built upon by a throbbing melange of oscillating pads, filtered white noise effects and a spoken vocal sample that gives a dark, filmic, soundtrack quality to the piece.

Final track, "Entropy" completes the picture with a collage of rhythm and sounds that mirror those found in their EP counterparts. Subtle melodies criss-cross over sustained pads that grow in intensity and musical progression as the track develops. The overall sense is that of a deep and rich bass resonance against a lightly skipping hi-hat percussion section, creating a track of simmering, brooding depth. With Andrew McDonnell's stock gathers momentum, his "Train To Motoyawata" is fighting hard against the principle of "Entropy".

                      04. Patrick M - Velvet Aurora [Xima Records | 003]

Velvet Aurora EP is the latest creation of Miami legend Patrick M
This album brings out the deep side of Patrick's production with elaborated baselines and very melodic sounds , yet u can still feel the unique groove that identifies the Argentine.

Patrick has made a name for himself reaching different audiences and demographics across the globe through his ingenious beats, original productions and charismatic performances.

With his unique , deep-funky house music style, Patrick M was part of a select group of DJs that helped pave the way for house music in Argentina.
In 2003, Patrick arrived at was to become his home away from home: Miami Beach. Ready to conquer the international market, Miami’s dynamic club scene ensured Patrick’s success. He joined forces with Chopin Hagen, a Buenos Aires based music store, and helped introduce the Grooveman Music concept to the world. The store quickly gained prominence and became the leading dance and dirty house music supplier for South Florida. Just recently, Patrick M wrapped up his 2011 world tour. Ibiza, Madrid, Bilbao, Roma, Tunisia, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Portugal and multiple stops in both North and South America were just some of the locations where Patrick dispersed his infectious beats.

Soon to celebrate his 2 years with record label Stereo Productions, one of the most respected and coveted record labels in the industry, Patrick M shows no signs of slowing down. With his talents on the decks and in the studio, it seems there is nothing Patrick M can’t do

                      05. Ian O’Donovan - Firenze (The Other Side Of Midnight EP) [EevoNext | NEXT43]

These offerings centre on deep, dark melodies and suspenseful atmospheres, all linked by their melancholic mood. From the wistful strings of "Moonlight Espionage", the subdued optimism of "Firenze" to the warm pads and floating synths of "Sanctuary", the EP showcases the deeper side of Ian's sound. Fittingly, Stephen Brown brings his typical deft touch on his remix adding another dimension to compliment the release nicely.

                      06. AlterImage - My Cortex (Mugwai EP) [AlterImage Recordings | AIR039]
