This mix is taken from an all-night-long set at my Black Magic residency at Trouw. It's difficult to capture the vibe of the club, you just have to be there, it's special. People often ask me about my setup - I use Traktor with four decks. This setup adds an extra dimension to djing, it's great for layering ambient sounds or real life recordings on top of the actual music, you can stretch out the best part of a track endlessly using looping functions or change the harmonic key of a track. This kind of djing feels almost like arranging a long track on the fly and blurs the lines between production and djing. I will try to go down this path further and further, I believe that there is a place for this sort of sound next to more traditional ways of djing (which I also enjoy sometimes).
