Caught this one after EONS and absolutely loved it. For a movie made back in the day, their scientific knowledge and use of apt terminology on black holes etc. were just on the money. Not to mention, it is reportedly the most expensive movie made by Walt Disney, with a budget of $20 Million back in 1979.

Guys and Gals, I have to hurry/leaving for short-term vacations.
I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me
I remember going to see that at the cinema when I was 6 or 7 and then crazing my mum to buy me some Shreddies cereal because they had The Black Hole Shrinky Dinks in them.
Would've been 3 when I saw this Remember thinking these were so cool
I think I read they're remaking it.

Oh. My. God. James absolutely obliterated the island tonight. The last time there was so much destruction, Obi Wan Kenobi had to take a seat on the Falcon after the Death Star said "hi and bye" to Leia's homeworld.
I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.
It was an insanely dark movie for Disney to make - the image of Hell near the end with the Dr and his robot Maximillian was freaking beyond surreal.
Most peeps dismissed this as Disney's attempt to get a peice of the Star Wars market, but it was way, way more than that. They had a great cast of Ernest Borgnine, Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster, Maxmillian Schnell and Yvette Mimieux.
This is one of those few Disney films that slid past the quality control department that ensured anything released with the Disney name on it was soft and cuddly - this featured some pretty grisly ideas and some pretty vicious murders/deaths onscreen.
It's still pretty widely available on DVD, but I'm sure a Blu Ray and a re-release of the DVD is on it's way just in time for the remake they're working on.
