    Restoration

No it's not the name of Digweeds next album, ... Rather I was curious if anyone else enjoys restoring things. I know Didi restores furniture. I used broken concrete recently to build a patio and now I'm restoring a grill that someone was throwing away. I also restored a dresser for my son's room and and old rocking chair. It's fun

It was fun while it lasted...

    great!!!
I like not to restore, but to repair or use parts of some things to complete other things. I even pick up stuff from the streets that can be useful

My wife and I do as well. She'd restored an old dresser she found at Salvation Army before we met, so when it was time to get the baby room together for our daughter, I decided to restore a dresser and nightstand I had from when I was growing up. Turned out pretty cool and we've got a coffee table and end table in our sights soon.

^Wow Clint, well done brotha! Loving the dr. suess animals We also have a diaper genie or whatever they are called ... we recently bought these small arm & hammer deodorizers (look like small pucks) for the bottom of ours, they have helped a lot .

here's the grill i found... my friends neighbor was throwing it away. it works really well, just needed to be de-rusted and painted a little

I restore entire homes. I've done about 5 so far. Some gut rehabs, others just cosmetic. I'll see if i can dig out some pics from my hard drive.

last thing: I picked up from street some acrylic stuff from a demolition (they were office buildings, I think), cut pieces of that acrylic, used some metallic parts and screws from old electric devices I had already disassembled, and I built a protection for my mixer (also used glue), and some removable windows for the rack where I keep my equipment.
I always keep the screws when I disassemble stuff that doesn't work.
My brother last week used some wooden pallets to make some furniture (tables). He painted them, so they look very nice, and strong.

yes it does! at home, I do almost everything, except masonry (all related to build/repair walls and stuff like that), and tools are the only way to work easy and quickly

This is right after I finished, once it got rained on a bunch the sand compacted, etc. Home depot sells 2 different kinds of sand you will want to buy. Otherwise it was a free patio .

The largest pieces of concrete probably weighed over 120 lbs or so.
