Re: MCAST mixes - Your Fav's
there's a guy named nick something who did two mixes for Steve's show. One was called Spring has Sprung, can't remember the other. Nick Williams? Great mixes and too bad the guy disappeared. There was another Toronto-based guy who did some wicked deephouseish mixes (I think they were for Mcast, maybe just mercuryserver) who I can't remember who was fucking awesome who was lost in the transition or who got married and started doing boring shit like wearing little alligator shirts to work on Fridays instead of taking pills and partying.Comment

Re: MCAST mixes - Your Fav's
Thank you for opening such a thread floridaorange, that is a very nice initiative;
I am paying attention to any positive criticism that you may have, or any suggestion you may have, please do mention your opinion and what's on your mind concerning MCast, the pros and the cons, because there is ALWAYS room for improvement, and we care to hear from our audience, and especially from MS members...
Concerning the point of advertising MCast here on MS: Yes it maybe true that most of the MCast Djs do not advertise their new sessions on MS; I personally think they should but we cannot force artists to advertise their work if they don't feel like doing so.
I personally ALWAYS advertise my sessions here on both forums: Life & Music. And I wish others would do the same...
It is true that MCast is not being advertised enough here on MS, but I am working hard enough to advertise it outside of MS on social media such as facebook, twitter etc etc... And what is also working on our advantage is that most of MCast sessions are being reposted on other websites such as tribalmixes and others, which is a kind of a by-product marketing so to speak.
Also, and this is the most important factor to why MCast is not being properly advertised here:
As most of you may know, we are missing the main pillar of MCast, the person who created it all, the person who dedicated most of his time to make it happen and succeed: TomTom.
Since Tom put aside the whole internet thing in order to dedicate his time to his personal life (family, work etc..) we lost a HUGE working force to our advantage. And plus, the remaining of the crew, the few of us, have also had their share of priorities change: Some have changed country and are looking to settle down and start a new life, others have had children to take care of, and others yet have their work to deal with etc etc... in few words, most of the MCast crew got really busy with their personal lives, thus their priorities have changed also, and we cannot blame them.
The way it is working nowadays, I am practically watching over MCast on my own while waiting for my other crew members to deal with whatever they have to deal with in their private lives, and come back to work on MCast.
For now, lets say that MCast is working on its lowest pace, I am dedicating as much time and effort as I can to keep it up and running,
I myself have my own things to deal with in my private life as well, 2 kids + the situation here in the middle east is not making it easy on me: As you all know the Syria war is spilling over Lebanon and the whole region, and to be honest with you all my family is on constant standby to leave Lebanon in case things get out of control - so to tell you that I am doing the best I can while living in very very difficult circumstances.
And with all this situation, still, our audience continues to tune in to MCast (the numbers speak for it), and we are setting up a new show, Signature Session, with Antonio Arebalo that should start any day now...
It is a phase, a down part, MCast is going through. FM is dealing with Proton (MCast sessions on Proton Radio) and Panoulix is very busy with relocation & exams, but we surely lack a great deal of work force as currently 1 person only is single-handedly dealing with almost all the rest....so please bear with me
But if you have any suggestion please say so so that we take into consideration; If any of the MS member would like to join MCast to have a show and be serious about it, please let me know so that we can check it out and see how to move on with it, if in line with MCast music style.
MCast is the MERCURYSERVER music platform, so of course the MS members have the priority to have a slot on MCast, but we do believe that we need quality rather than quantity when it comes to shows and music.
Other than that, thank you ALL for your understanding, and we hope you keep on tuning in to MCast, YOUR music platform...
I will be keeping an eye on this thread.Comment

^You express yourself really well Shiva, glad you are back . I think MCAST could some reorganizing but of course that takes time, money and effort and I'm not raising my hand since I'm busier than ever with what family and work, but, plus I have little know-how. But I love the platform and what it is and hope to take advantage of the old and new mixes on it.
Chunky is that you?
It was fun while it lasted...Comment

Our mission has always been to provide quality music to MSers and the world, we worked hard for many years to achieve this result, and we surely won't back down for any reason. Just like any organization, lets say, there are ups and down, sometimes things need to be changed at several levels ranging from management to shows to music orientation etc etc... The question is to ADAPT to changes, and since the EDM world is in constant change, WE, MCAST, need to understand these changes and adapt to it.
This is why I am glad this thread has been opened, this is why we are keen to hear from listeners, get the proper feedback and act accordingly...
As I mentioned, we are open to ANY suggestion, and we are ready to listen and to act: If anyone would like to make these suggestions openly please do so, or even PM me or any of the MCast crew... Your contribution in this sense is very needed for the sake of the improvement of MCast.
Maybe MCast needs to look into diversify its music orientation, maybe MCast is in need of new blood in its management team, maybe MCast is in need of new talents....whatever the case/suggestion may be, please shoot and your say won't go unheard...
Again, thank you for caring, after all it is all for our benefit, it is all for the love of Music & MS = MCast!Comment

Re: MCAST mixes - Your Fav's
Thanks for pointing me to this thread Lory. As you rightly said, life does find a way of getting in the way of itself, people get older, married, kids, work + responsibility increases and most things that we did to exploit our downtime seem to wither away, simply because downtime itself becomes a rarity.
I myself try and keep up with things on the boards, a quick glance at a funny gif in gyy, my PMs (most of which seem to slip under the radar these days), admin / mod forums, status of the server are about where my "downtime" at work ends.
But I have seen your dedication towards and admire it.
To those on the boards who spend more time on here than on MCast OR have RSS to keep up with your feeds, you guys can subscribe to this forum
