Re: New DJ Talent
does it matter if vinyl is gone? the only REAL holdouts I've heard for vinyl are DnB djs, who swear ,and I believe them, that vinyl provides better bass. mp3s suck ... but other digital formats are fine ...
programming is an unteachable skill .. which is why I've always been a Nick Warren supporter. Maybe his mixing skills aren't technically as great as S&D, but his programming ... bar none EXCELLENT. He freaking made an olde 1940s song that I used to sing with my grandma into an awesome amazing dance track "the fall." which was originally "autumn leaves" -- The songwriter is the french poet Jacques Prevert and the music is from his friend Joseph Kosma. They created this song for the french movie " Les Portes de La nuit " from the Director Marcel Carn?, screenplay by Jacques Prevert with the french actor Yves Montand . English lyrics by Johnny Mercer.
PLUS warren did a sample w/Jody of gladys Knight = "the gift". That, plus his d/t skills ... well ... whether vinyl or no .. there aren't very many people who could match that vision ... with nick warren's punk and trip hop roots.
