    Release Notes:

    01. Jemmy - Waterloo Blues [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-36]

Anyone who was at the Bedrock party in Liverpool earlier this year will know that this is a musical city through and through, so its great to see one of Liverpool’s finest up and coming talents releasing his excellent music on John Digweed’s label. Jemmy’s Bedrock debut “Quarry Bank” appeared on the Bedrock 14 compilation in 2012 and paved the way for this debut single release

“Waterloo Blues” is pure summer sunshine magic with its delicious swirling melodies and scratchy beats. Jemmy has always eschewed genre, his knowledge and love for music from right across the spectrum, as well as his own unique sound, means he appeals to a wide range of DJs, borne out by the fact that the likes of John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Slam & Paco Osuna are giving him their support.

Jemmy is also making a big impact on the world of electronic music with his long standing DJ residencies with Freeze, as well as for the mighty Cream across Europe. He also has the rare and impressive claim of being the world’s first ever DJ to play at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral! During the day Jemmy runs his own record shop and label – Liverpool’s world-renowned 3B Records. It’s no wonder that big things are happening for this super-talented young man!

Fellow scouser and Circus master, Yousef, lends his support with his Circus Rework of “Waterloo Blues”, taking it on a deeper hypnotic journey to create a perfect package. The top rank international DJ, producer, club promoter and music aficionado shows exactly why he is at the top of his game and so respected.

    02. LEAVE - No Doubt (Lopazz Remix) [Emma Music | EMMA00

    Artist: LEAVE
    Title: No Doubt
    Label: Emma Music
    Cat no: EMMA001
    Format: Digital / Vinyl
    Release: 07.08.13 (vinyl) / 19.08.13 (digi)

    Tracks:
A1 - LEAVE - No Doubt (Original Mix)
B1 - LEAVE - No Doubt (Lopazz Remix)
B2 - LEAVE - No Doubt (Nag Sky Remix)

We celebrate the first release of Emma Music and the debut of Emma's Face LEAVE. 'No Doubt' is a nu-disco influenced bomb that create a summerish atmosphere. Get Physical's LOPAZZ tells a modern interpretation of this wonderful track. Everything he needs: a rocking bassline, some vocal cuts and a down pitched hook. The other remix of Nag Sky reminds us of the classical french house time.

    03. Silky Raven - Caterpillars & Birds (Shaun Reeves & Jay Haze Remix) [Connaisseur Recordings | cns060-6]

Due to its black colour, the raven was often a harbinger of death in Western culture, brought to you in conjunction with dark deeds. But according to Native American medicine teachings, light comes out of darkness and the colour black is associated with the source of all energy creating new realities - with the raven as its messenger.

Silky Raven, namely Jakob Seidensticker and Henrik Raabe, have dedicated their work to this process with projects like The Havana Boys, Seidensticker/Salour and Wareika.

On the remix duties we first have October, who delivers an homage to the LFO-influenced sound of the 90ies, raw and pure. And second we have a remix by Visionquest's Shaun Reeves and Jay Haze, who join forces to create a Dub-techno-influenced pearl, perfectly rounding up the package.

    10. Vaylo - Fawn (Maher Daniel Dunken Drums Remix) [Leftroom Ltd | LEFTLTD033]

New producer Vaylo makes his debut on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom Ltd this July with the ‘Fawn’ EP that features two original tracks as well as remixes from Waifs & Strays and Maher Daniel.

25 year old and a graduate of Electronic and Urban Music, Vaylo is new to house music and, having built up a tidy portfolio of house and techno tracks over the past year or so, is about to unleash a series of 12”s. With a production background based in other genres, Vaylo is both accomplished in the studio and has fresh-faced enthusiasm for the 4:4 thump.

‘Fawn’ opens the EP with distinct rave/ukg influences. Piano stabs, staccato bass licks and soulful vocal snippets surround a rimshot heavy drum track making for a timeless peak time track while the ‘Conject’ goes for a more heads down, jacking approach with warm Jupiter 8 brass being the only element to break the insistent groove.

Increasingly influential duo Waifs & Stays take on ‘Fawn’ and isolate the original’s stabs and vox and weld them to a zapping electro-styled beat to create a moodier, heavier groove that pays homage to early 80s aesthetics.

Leftroom’s Maher Daniel nagging, rattling version of ‘Fawn’ closes the EP with a real sense of technoid purpose. Stuttering beats, shuffling drum machines and energetic effects merge with Vaylo original parts perfectly throughout.

Vaylo’s ‘Fawn’ is released on Leftroom Ltd on July 29th, 2013.
