                Release Notes:

                01. Antrim - Come To Me [unreleased]

Guillermo Cornejo a.k.a Antrim was born in Cordoba Argentina, and was last seen on Resident 109 with 'Rita'. Antrim's style ranges from progressive, techno and deep, creating cutting edge sounds - influenced by Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, who selected 'Blow Your Mind' for his latest Renaissance compilation.

Antrim's work has appeared on Hope Recordings, 99% Recordings, Classoud Recordings, Balkan Connection South America and Progrezo Records.

                02. Mr.C feat. Victoria Wilson James - Open Up (David Scuba & Dance Spirit Remix) [Superfreq | SFD003]

Mr.C delivers a remix package of, ‘Open Up’, via his Superfreq imprint this June, taken from his recently released ‘Smell The Coffee’ LP, the package features reworks from Just Be, Inxec, Jordan Lieb and David Scuba & Dance Spirit.

Richard West aka Mr.C, and the Superfreq imprint, both earned highly praised statuses within the underground over the years, through pure dedication to releasing, and DJing the most cutting edge electronic music around. The Superfreq label made a triumphant return this year, following a brief hiatus, returning in full force with the likes of Brett Johnson, the late, Motorcitysoul, Jay Tripwire and [a]pendics.shuffle delivering works for the relaunch.

Here the label drops remixes of Mr.C’s ‘Open Up’, pulling in a variety of on-point remix artists to reshape the infectious original. Just Be aka Bushwacka! turns in the first mix, putting things on an ever-evolving, hypnotic tip, with sweeping atmospherics, brooding pads and raw shuffling drums.

Crosstown Rebels’ Inxec delivers the following rework, opting for a sparse, stripped interpretation with loose drum programming, tension building low-end tones and hooky synth lines, while the original cuts vocals brilliantly meander around the grooves foundation.

Superfreq’s, Jordan Lieb, takes things in a deeper, more house orientated direction with his remix, dropping the tempo and instilling a warm, cosseting vibe through soft Rhodes, subtle organs and bright synth melodies. While David Scuba & Dance Spirit go the other way with a dark and eerie workout, the percussive groove maintains a simple, loopy format, leaving the blooming pads and psychedelic melodies to keep things in an ever-enticing state. Mr.C’s ‘Open Up (Remixes) is out on Superfreq 24th June 2013.

                03. Edu Imbernon - Ditto feat. Rosina (Fairmont Remix) [Eklektisch | EKV015]

Edu Imbernon's Eklektisch label has considerably grown in stature recently, and one look at the sort of collaborators he's now picking up the phone to are very much indicative of the fact. On ''Ditto'', the young Spaniard calls on Rosina on the vocal front – a name you might recognise from Crosstown Rebels' frankly massive ''Fables and Fairytales'' from a few years back.

And to give the vocalist her dues, she turns in another stunning, sultry contribution here on a record that's brimming with sexy, summer-time vibes. The unfurling bassline proves a potent marriage too, while Imbernon's assured handling of the vocal (splicing it when possible and injecting it with numerous echoes) add to the overall atmosphere of the record. Excellent stuff.

First up on the previously alluded to remix duties is prolific deep house don, Olivier Mateu AKA Rodriguez Jr. The sometime Tenampa, Mobilee and Systematic man reminds us why he's been a force to be reckoned with for some time, as he delievers a far more ominous take on the original. Tough beats contradict the dream inducing melodies with distinction, and Rodriguez Jr's interpretation is the most striking of all that's on show here.

Finally, the no less respected Fairmont turns in a remix that's precisely in keeping with his unpredictable nature. This time, the emphasis shifts toward a more accesible, almost 80s influenced, synth-pop palette. Like much of Eklektisch's best releases, ''Ditto'' is a party-starting collection of tracks that's hard to find fault with. [Data Transmission Review]

                04. André Sobota - Pulsatilla (Henry Saiz Remix) [microCastle]

MCSL030 - Andre Sobota - 'Pulsatilla EP' with Henry Saiz, Electric Rescue and 16 Bit Lolitas Remixes.

Andre Sobota returns to microCastle for the labels 30th overall release. The Brazilian producer has continued to impress since his hugely successful 'Surrounded By Time' EP from the summer of 2012. Andre's unique melodic sound has been enchanting electronic music fans over the first half of 2013 and he continues to be a firm favourite of Above and Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Eric Prydz and Markus Schulz. We're thrilled to have Andre back on microCastle for his second EP entitled 'Pulsatilla' which includes 3 brand new original productions with remixes from: Henry Saiz, Electric Rescue and 16 Bit Lolitas.

The title track has a unique and refreshing summer vibe that might just be one of Andre's most ambitious productions to date. The warm, sun drenched harmonies play off the grungy low end perfectly for what results in a wonderfully warped sounding melodic creation. This is one production that will have nightclub goers transported to a place far more magical than a dark smoky room. The lone remix of 'Pulsatilla' comes from Henry Saiz who is making his debut on microCastle here. The highly touted Spanish producer has just come off what many feel is this year's best album. 'Reality Is For Those Who Are Not Strong Enough To Confront Their Dreams' was released in early June on Henry's own Natura Sonoris imprint and has electronic music fans from around the world singing his praises. Henry's uniquely organic and abundantly musical sound has melded itself extremely well to 'Pulsatilla'. The result is a production which sounds like the perfect summer anthem. Warm, analogue grooves lay down a funky foundation while catchy vocal hooks and poignant chord changes provide the necessary emotional content which makes for one of Henry's best remix works to date.

The second original 'Full Circle' is a light and airy construction. Andre's creative imagination never ceases to amaze and his dynamic beats and delicately interwoven melodies have never sounded better here. The main break is particularly captivating with its shimmering backdrop, grinding build and idyllic harmonies. The unique melodic themes suspend in your subconscious and lead to the reintroduction of the beats for a warm rush of emotion which closes the record out extremely strong. Electric Rescue makes his first appearance on microCastle and provides the lone remix of 'Full Circle'. The French producer just released his ground breaking 'Sonic Architecture' LP on Bedrock and his unique take on techno is routinely championed by Laurent Garnier and John Digweed. For his 'Full Circle' interpretation Electric Rescue has crafted a deep techno rework that comes with an immense dance floor presence. Big character laden beats along with rhythmic stabs and dynamic fills generate some huge momentum throughout. A spectacular remix from Electric Rescue which should be huge on the techno floors all summer.

Andre's third and final original on the release 'Lights' would be the most techno oriented piece on the collection. Backed by a driving groove, scattered drum elements and a wavering hypnotic energy which is totally infectious 'Lights' is the ultimate epic conclusion to the three compositions from Andre. The lone remix of 'Lights' comes from 16 Bit Lolitas who are returning to microCastle for their 11th overall appearance. The Dutch duo's 'Personal Space' (released in 2010) has been one of microCastle's best selling tracks and their recent Warung Brazil and Supermarket albums have been fan favourites over the last year. For their 'Lights' interpretation 16 Bit Lolitas have delivered one of their most musical creations to date. An intricate sounding groove sits at the foundation while warm bassy swells and blissful themes carry the track to the main break. The post rock style interlude goes down as one of 16 Bit Lolitas finest moments. A slow building wave of majestic sounding melody that crescendos with a divine, invigorating force that will leave you thoroughly elated.

                Release/catalogue number: MCSL030

"This is pure sunshine (and not in the visually-striking-but-ultimately-deeply-disappointing-Danny-Boyle-film sense). The main melody line from the original is transmuted into a catchy guitar-like riff that runs through most of the track, while gigantic chord changes, clipped, twisted vocal samples, and layers of strings sounds mesh together to deliver one of the year’s bright spots. Henry obviously set to make the most joyful, summery record he could, and he’s outdone himself with this effort." [Release Official Review]

                07. Genius Spark - Fractal [System Recordings | Promo]

Last seen on Resident 110 with 'Such A Fool' Genius Spark are Mexico's Hugo Ibarra [Tripped Digital / Atmosphere records/ System Recordings, New York / In4mation Records, Mexico / Apeabe Productions / Sounds Of Earth / We Are Here Records] & Costa Rican born, Mexico based Fernando Ortiz.

                08. Nikko.Z - In The Dark Room (Crying EP) [Dopamine Music | DPM010]

Dopamine Music owner Nikko.Z returns to his own imprint this week for the labels 10th overall release. Nikko has been quiet on the original production front with his last works coming in late 2012 on Dopamine and Rococo. A top remix of East Cafe along with a soon to be released gem on Luke Porter's Temporum Music has given electronic music fans a small taste of what's to come here.

Nikko's new double A-side release for Dopamine is entitled 'Crying / In The Dark Room' and it comes with two brand new original productions. The 'Crying' original is one of Nikko's most meticulously crafted works to date. The groove really starts to take shape two minutes in with some vibrant electronics and a soulful vocal sample. The deep and sultry vibe of the production is truly intoxicating and the pristine polish on the drums gives it just the right amount of dance floor oomph. Following a scenic drop an airy atmospheric presence comes over the proceedings which adds a wonderfully emotional element that melds well with deep vibes below.

Nikko has also included a second '6 AM' version of 'Crying' which comes with an even funkier and more dance floor worthy presence. The well shaped bass line forms a deadly groove in conjunction with the electric sounding drums. Waning hypnotic tones along with some metallic tinged bells push the rhythm higher towards the drop. Here sections of drums build some palatable tension and as the modulation peaks the soaring atmosphere rises even higher. The tough beats and infectious groove then crash back in for the ultimate dance floor moment. A monstrous production from Nikko.

The second original 'In The Dark Room' presents a grinding, ominous sounding groove with a very heavy presence. Bubbly acid tones form an undulated bass line with a killer roll while the sci-fi electronics tantalise the senses immensely. The elastic groove modulates and in turn creates some massive hooks which carry the track to the breakdown. A stark sounding backdrop pierces the atmosphere while the razor sharp sound design cuts the air with ferocity. The subterranean groove picks back up with a new twist which propels the track forward to a truly sinister sounding climax that's going to go down great on all the dark floors out there.

                09. Axel Bartsch - Don’t Forget The Funk [Basmati | Basmati#11]

For our eleventh release, we welcome Axel Bartsch into the Basmati family. Axel is an excellent producer, label curator, and an old friend, and we were elated to hear from him when he sent us his new original "Don't Forget The Funk". It sounded as if it was produced just for Basmati. The second track "Am Mauerpark" was previously released on Ananda's late label Karmarouge and has been retouched and remastered for its re-release on Basmati, we just couldn't resist!

Supported by Someone Else, Pablo Bolivar, Agoria, Piemont, Lee Burton, Tom Novy, Tim Green, Marc Poppcke, Peter Kruder, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Thomas Schumacher, Alex Niggemann, Nadja Lind and Gabriel Le Mar.
