Alright, I'll admit it, I've not been out clubbing that much in the past three years since I've been in Tel Aviv, but in London I was hitting the floor at least once a week.
Bedrock, The End, Code in Birmingham - I did them all, listening to great, and at times not so great, DJ's. But last night i had the pleasure of seeing Nick Warren for the second time here in Israel, and believe me it was a huge pleasure.
It all started at 1.00 pm when i left work and went to buy tickets, once those things were in my hand I new i was up for a great night.

As the day moved on I tried to sleep, couldnt, walked the dog, listened to Nicks set from the TLV last year, surfed and got really angry that i couldn't sleep. Then Adina, my flatmate, got home from work at about 10.00pm, she also tried to sleep, couldn't and we ended up listening to some Deep Dish as we were getting ready to go out.
This is us just as we were about to leave.

We finally arrived at the Vox at about 1.15, entered, and were blown away immediatley, not just by the venue, which has this great long walkway entrance that reminds me of the MOS, not just by the huge out door chill out area that the Vox had supplied all of us but by the belting tunes which were coming from inside. We looked at each other, checked the time, and realised that this could not be Nick (headliners here dont come on till about 2.00 - 2.30 am).
I dont know who the resident is but he supplied one of the finest warm up i've seen - it reminded my of how Thompson warms up for DIgweed. In the 75 minutes we heard him play not one track was familiar.
The at 2.30 Nick came on, no fanfare, he just took over the decks and started belting out Fever, by this time the vibe in the place was intense.

The dance floor was filling up and Adina and I looked at each other with a knowing smile - we were in for one hell of a ride!
The second track came and went and then we heard it - one of our favourites - 16B Featuring Morel "Escape (Driving to Heaven)". And that folks was the last track of the evening I recognised.
For the next three hours Nick took us on a journey, each track kept blowing our mind. This man knows how to build a set; his mixing (often critised from his TLV set last year) was excellent. If this is anything like GU28 I want a copy now!

Last night was one of my best clubbing experiences since i went to Code in Birmingham where Lawler played for 4 hours and Sasha and Digweed went back to back for an eternity!
If any of you get the chance to see Nick some time soon, do it, you wont be disapointed!
