    01. Nicole Moudaber feat. ME - Give Me Body (Anja Schneider Remix) [Mood Records | MOODREC005]

    Limited Release Information

    [Pumped Audio Review]

As she is described as the Queen of Techno, Miss Moudaber seems to produce flawless productions every time. ‘Give Me Body’ is next on the agenda released on Mood Records and has remixes from Anja Schneider and a Dub Mix just short of 25 minutes long of dance floor beats.

Nicole kicks her EP off with her original vocal mix, followed by Schneider’s remarkable remix and the finale Dub Mix. Starting off with a bass kicking beat, then slowly into vocals from – Me. It will definitely get you moving whether it’s at your office desk, at a beach party or in a nightclub spot on the dance floor. It’s an exciting release from Moudaber that HAS to be behind those turn tables for time to come. With an explosion of instruments, vocals and energetic, loving sounds at the end, this is one good start for her; with imaginably many more remixes of the song to follow.

German born, Anja Schneider producers more of a laid back sound for ‘Give Me Body’ and continues with a repetitive beat throughout; whilst picturing this being played out at a cool bar or underground small room event this is still one to most definitely get you moving! … Were as the Dub Mix has all the elements of a heavy Techno track. Think big room, think big sounds and lots of air pumping! Never the less it’s a diverse sound and a varied take on what’s already an awesome track pulled off by Nicole. The vocals literally make the song, with an eruption of them here and there within the mix.

Overall all three sounds complement each other and hold the foundations of a great Techno track with Moudaber, Schneider and the Dub Mix bringing ‘Give Me Body’ an admirable gush of heaven to the ears. Sure enough you will enjoy this one guys

    02. Daniel Stefanik - Confidence (Adam Port Remix) [Cocoon Recordings | COR12"107]

Daniel Stefanik generated some buzz this year with his latest album release on Cocoon Recordings. And he proved with a number of outstanding DJ-sets over the last weeks that he progressed to a well respected and some of the “most wanted” artists around. We are happy to have the Leipzig house hero aboard and we are proud to announce the long awaited remix-12″ featuring remixes by Adam Port, Mr. G, Mathias Kaden and Legowelt. All four delivered outstanding mixes and we are not only saying this because we have to.

Let’s begin with Adam Port’s remix for “Confidence” in which he delivers a real deep and housey gem with cool Moodyman-like elements. The dark bass-line could also be found in a Carl-Craig-Mix and creates a deep arrangement with lots of space and room. However don’t sit back and relax as Adam Ports manages it to conjure a hedonistic and energetic tune that will for sure set floors on fire this summer! Although this Adam Port remix seems to be different to the ones we know at first glance it turns out to be one of his best works ever so far! Another “Adam Port sure shot!”

Mathias Kaden, Stefanik’s dj-partner-in-crime, builds his remix for “Brothers in Crime” on a very solid and pumping NY-housebeat that creates a decent amount of power and energy. The synths and the dub chords on top make this arrangement complete and close to perfection when it comes to merge house and techno. This one will be heard in many DJ-sets this summer for sure!

Mr. G is following the house route here, too however he creates an atmosphere closer to the one on Stefanik’s album. He incorporates more old skool elements such as straight forward 909 hi hats and cymbals which results in a driving piece of house music. The filtered strings on top create a dark and foggy club vibe like we know it from the good old days of dirty house music.

Last but not least there is Legowelt with another remix. And no surprise Legowelt focus on the technoid and crazy side of house and techno. 16th hi hats, space sounds and analogue synth-action form a mix that refers strongly to the high days of Detroit Techno. A crazy piece of music that could fit into a modern Sci-Fi-Soundtrack and almost deserves the rating “Meisterwerk”. On top a very welcome addition to this über-house-package!

    03. Claude VonStroke - The Clapping Track (Urban Animal LP) [Dirtybird Records | DB098]

The artwork for Claude VonStroke's upcoming 3rd album, "Urban Animal" best summarizes the theme of this full length outing from the dirtybird chief. A collection of architectural photography in disrepair from Detroit and The Midwest were chopped up and reconstructed into the shapes of 3 amazing animal portraits, a lion, a lizard, and a bird.

In the same way, Claude has taken sounds and snippets of his busy and sometimes frantic life and created an album from these simple and complex elements. Beauty and intrigue created from smaller pieces of chaos and adversity.

The introductory single, "Cant Wait," is reminiscent of some of VonStroke's deeper classics while also pushing further into new territory. A sense of restraint and release play games throughout this melancholy tune with a fat bassline locking down the groove. "Can't Wait" has fleeting moments of euphoria that are both surprising and uplifting especially for a summer open air crowd.

"The Clapping Track" then shows us the fun side of VonStroke where he cuts apart 16 claps and then brings them back together - building up to a standing ovation as a resonate organ sounds. This house anthem has already been destroying the Dirtybird Ibiza residency and summer festival circuit as well.

Both tracks are great for the club and leave us wondering what other happy surprises have been constructed out of the infinite imperfect pieces inside Claude VonStroke's head.

    04. Nick Dow - Tangled Up In String (Ancient Sequence EP) [Herzblut Recordings | HERZBLUT 33]

Always on the hunt for fresh new talent Herzblut boss Stephan Bodzin has unearthed a gem from deep in the Scottish countryside. Well, whilst Nick Dow can call the highlands his home the young producer is currently spending his days in Brooklyn, New York, having already passed through the creative musical hub of Berlin. An impressive journey already for an artist who released his first music as recently as 2011.

The son of a musician, Dow has always been surrounded by an array of wonderfully eclectic sounds. "I want to make meaningful music, that has a story and takes the listener on a journey. I'm always looking to find the line between club and listening music" says Nick. A statement thats echo'd in his debut release for Herzblut.

The four track Ancient Sequence EP sees the young Scotsman wrapping sensational and serene melodies around compelling and uplifting electronic spines.

    05. Violent Romance & Gav Memnos - Give Me Love (Michael Jansons Alternate Mix) (Shades EP) [Shadow Sanctuary | SS005]

The fifth offering on Shadow Sanctuary comes in the form of Violent Romance and Gav Memnos' Shapes EP. Ardently crafted after a spate of late night studio sessions, it's clear from this, their first collaboration, that a natural synergy has arisen instantaneously between the pair. As a result, three solid and original house cuts form the basis of this release.

The first of our remixers comes in the form of the somewhat mysterious Moodtrap. After showcasing their trademark classic House sound with a string of excellent releases on Tsuba records it made perfect sense to enlist their services for Shadow Sanctuary and the resulting take on 'Keep on Changing' certainly does not disappoint.

Last but by no means least we see the return of engineer come rising talent Michael Jansons. It's evident the effort Michael has been putting into his own endeavours of late is more than paying off as he delivers not one but two banging remixes.

    06. SQL - Reveal (Kassey Voorn Remix) (Surrender EP) [Gem Records | GEM028]

SQL has been touring the globe and releasing steadily for a few years now. After a lot of great releases and remixes, some of which topped the charts, we believe that this is his best EP so far! If you like warm techno and tech house that combines melody with powerful grooves, this one is for you.

    07. Paul Ritch - Run Baby Run [Drumcode | CD115]

Paul Ritch is no stranger to Drumcode and has returned with an outstanding single featuring three tracks that will dominate DJ sets.

The first track ‘Run Baby Run’ entertains us with an arpeggiated chord sequence that is accompanied by percussion-like synth sounds before bursting into a thick-layered sequence of sound.

The dark and dubby side of the single see’s Paul’s ‘Astral’ bring a funky sleazed out groovy track that also uses a discerning melody. ‘Mind Insistence’ is a dark 5am groove that will keep the dance floor swaying in the early hours with it’s tripped out feel and syncopated percussion.
