Germany’s Hansestadt Hamburg has a great tradition when it comes to dance music. Starting with the infamous Klaus Stockhausen, Boris Dlugosch and their sinful playground called Front, the city’s love affair with house surmounts the straight kickdrum. Tensnake, a not so new kid on the block, stems from those customs. Probably best known for his summer smash/anthem Coma Cat on Permanent Vacation resp. Defected and the madness that followed, this boy is interested and talented in many forms of music. Tensnake flirts with Italo disco, deep house, boogie pop and the hermaphrodites in-between. Glorious remixes for Junior Boys, Alexander Robotnick or Aloe Blacc, sick stuff on his co-owned Mirau label, for the renowned Running Back outfit and live sets all over the world, bear witness.
Can I get, can I get, get? Yes, you can. Here’s a slice of Hamburg’s boogie boy, disco don and hit machine Tensnake in the mix in Philly.
