    Release Notes:

    01. Resketch - All You Want All You Need (Neil Quigley Remix) [REfINE Music | REF004]

Limited release information. REfINE Music is the Darmstadt, DE based label owned by The Timewriter, Terry Lee Brown Jnr and Neil Quigley.

"Welcome to REfINE, the new label from The Timewriter, Terry Lee Brown Jnr and Neil Quigley. We will strive to deliver you lovingly crafted and heartfelt house and electronica to suit all your aural needs."

    02. Miss Jools & Scott Kemp - Counter Culture (London Asylum EP) [Mobilee Records | MOBILEE 116]

Miss Jools releases may be be modest in number, but she is woven deeper than ever into the Mobilee fabric. In stepping back into the studio with Scott Kemp, Miss Jools has signalled that her production hiatus is officially over, and now Berlin's favourite transplant revisits the madness of her former home with London Asylum.

The title track stalks the city's late night streets, moody and brooding with a washy vocal treatment and a deep, sultry pace. "Counter Culture" is just as sleek and seductive, with a thick bassline and a vintage UK tech house feel. Fellow ex-Londoner Anthea provides the "Expectation Remix" of "Counter Culture", but expect the unexpected: it's dark and stark, and a real deep techno workout.

    Released by: mobilee records
    Release/catalogue number: mobilee116
    Release date: Aug 12, 2013

    [DMC World Review]

If the title belonging to this release doesn’t ignite your attention then the music certainly will. Put simply this is an epic production from Miss Jools & Scott Kemp which quickly imposes its presence via dark, brooding bass and stabs coupled with crisp, punctuating percussion that sounds even more powerful louder. Next, ‘Counter Culture’ replays the same formula with its expansive arrangement of sounds feeling temptingly spacey and tense. Leaving the remix from Anthea to pick up the pace with a more energetic bassline plus an array of moody sounds which also proceed to secure your focus.

    03. Eli and Fur - Nightmares (Nils Hoffmann Remix) [Nyx Records | NYXR003]

London-based electronic duo Eli & Fur returns with a stunning new dance number called “Nightmares”, the follow up to their impressive “Sea of Stars” and “Tonight” releases in 2012. The original track, released through NYX Records, is already available and so is the dub. Below, you have the chance to listen to a very special rework from the Berlin producer, artist, and DJ Nils Hofmann. Yes, Nils Hofmann of “Balloon”-fame—who topped the one million mark over at YouTube and released the acclaimed Verwunschen EP via Lochmann Records. Since then, he’s become Germany’s answer to Shlohmo and drops remixes like no other. [Electronic Beats]

    04. Dance Spirit - Future Romance [Superfreq | SFD006]

Self confessed hopeless romantics Dance Spirit are bent on “attaining subconscious perfection through rhythm, timbre, melody, and movement” and come pretty darn close to that on their superb new EP for Mr.C’s Superfreq. So far also releasing on labels like Supernature and Maison D'Etre, this latest EP comes ahead of two scheduled full length releases, one of which will come on Superfreq in 2014.

“This release came about by experimenting with melodies and sampling” say Dance Spirit, and you can tell from the off, ‘Future Romance’ is a widescreen melodic house track that spreads to an infinite horizon in every direction thanks to the warbling synths and subtly uplifting pads. It slowly unfolds, forever rolling on inviting kicks and claps and is one that will consume whole dancefloors, minds and bodies in the process.

‘Shake It’ is built on a more bobbling bottom end and is run through with dulcet spoken word tones and plenty of lively synths; they spread and spray, implode and explode and do so with great poise from start to finish. Next offering ‘Time Seclusion’ looks back to the shuffling percussive energy of 90’s garage house for its inspiration. Prominent, beautifully loose and live sounding snares ride up top on this drum led track, but Dance Spirit’s knack for weaving fine melodies is also ever present; buried deep in the midst of the drums and between more droning pads, it’s a truly evocative sound.

Finally, ‘Voices in My Head’ is the most raw of the lot – drums and percussion are piled on top of each other, glistening and glinting bits of metal dangle in the background and more unnerving voices from the outer cosmos murmur in the little spaces left behind.

Just ahead of their debut LP, Dance Spirit are shaping up to become quite the hotly tipped act on the lips of those that know.

    05. Tom Budden - Come 2 Me (5 Years of ALiVE Compilation) [ALiVE Recordings | ALIVE05YRS]

Tom Budden’s, ALiVE Recordings marks a milestone this September, as the imprint reaches five years in the industry, the ‘5 Years of ALiVE’ compilation employs some of the leading artists on the roster over the years, to provide freshly produced cuts for this thirteen track collection.

AliVE Recordings has come a long way since Budden’s inaugural single on the label, ‘Snakebite’, with the back catalogue boasting heavy hitters from the likes of Audiojack, Chris James, Nolan, Bubba & T-Bone and Viadrina. Several of the aforementioned names have provided new records for this compilation.

Over the course of its fifty plus releases, the ALiVE imprint has honed in on a deep, distinct and infectious house sound, putting it on the map as a leading light in the contemporary electronic music scene.

Nolan’s ‘The Legacy’, which kicks things off here, is a shining example of this, with its retro drums and bulbous subby tones, while promising young producer Chris James, offers up some classy modern house vibes in the shape of ‘U Know When U Know’.

Budden turns in a drummy, deep number with ‘Come 2 Me’, while Audio Tonic’s very own, Raxon, delivers a throbbing bassy cut. Further highlights come courtesy of rising producer Cera Alba, who puts things on 90’s Garage tip with ‘Acetate’, and Polish duo Viadrina, delve into their dark and brooding vibe with ‘Shellshock’. In addition to the above, the thirteen track comp features records from Mat.Joe, Monday Club, Mar-T, Mella Dee, VELCRO, Deep City Groove and Della Zouch, as expected each one instilled with an undeniable quality and perfectly crafted for the dance floor.

The ‘5 Years of ALiVE’ compilation is out on ALiVE Recordings 9th September 2013.

    06. H.O.S.H - Fireman (H.O.S.H Presents Forever Young EP) [Diynamic | DIYNAMIC066]

H.O.S.H. presents FOREVER YOUNG - Episode 02 (04) Here comes Part 2 of the Forever Young Puzzle Series by H.O.S.H.

We all had our dreams when we were young. It's never too late to live them. This is basically what this special series which H.O.S.H. presents us here on Diynamic is all about. Consisting of 4 Releases with all together 8 Tracks on limited to 500 copies 10" Vinyls, each of the 8 tracks presents a character of a child dream. All 4 Covers of the series make a puzzle and form together one big picture. Also, each release will come along with a special video clearly connected with the theme FOREVER YOUNG and the chosen character. When all Vinyl and digital releases have been released there will also be one complete Album CD with all the tracks. All together this project is bigger than just an album in which H.O.S.H. invested a lot of time and love.Aimed for collectors, this is a very special project in every way just as your child dream was. Now go and live it !

    07. Anton Pieete - Loner [Rejected | REJ029]

Anton Pieete is welcomed back by Rejected with yet another premium release. Once again we witness Pieete's well respected contempo techno style with the versatile 2 track EP Loner. 'Loner' fronts a straight-forward deep ambiance that's cleverly fused with a classic synth and retro vocals, a definite nostalgic vibe ready for a modern dancefloor. Whilst Flipside's 'I Hold From You' brings us a break from the generic with Pieete focusing on a progressive chill-out roller; setting the mood for any performance.

    08. Jimpster - Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (KiNK Remix) [Freerange Records | Promo]

Upfront copies of the highly anticipated KiNK and Andre Lodemann remixes of Jimpster! And when we say upfront, we mean it, this isn't officially released until September. These are seriously special copies as well, with hand-drawn labels (each one unique) by the Freerange design team. Oh and they're exclusive to Phonica! Be VERY quick. [Phonica Records]

"Remixing selected tracks from Jimpster’s ‘Porchlight And Rocking Chairs’ album released earlier this year is KiNK and Andre Lodemann. Part 1 of the series sees the tracks given a fresh sheen from the former who injects shimmering percussion into this already captivating track, and if anything feels more intense than the original with fiery electronics moving in all directions. The later then moves into deeper territory with a hard hitting production that retains the addictive melody of synths and excellent Double Bass on what is the second of two first rate remixers." [DMC World]

    09. Claire Ripley - Make Or Break (Patrick Chardronnet Remix) [Audiomatique Recordings | AM51]

Audiomatique continues its journey to the centre of the deep, this time with the highly skilled Claire Ripley at the controls. The talented Miss Ripley has been releasing weapons-grade house and techno for a few years now, both on labels in her home-stomping ground of the UK, and on tastemaker imprints such as Dessous, Highgrade and her own Phobic Records.

'Make or Break' sets out its stall early –high accomplished, atmospheric and driving deep house with an edge. The metallic synths hint at darker, techno influences, while the cut up vocals suggest Claire is not afraid to utilise the euphoric in her productions or DJ sets.

Patrick Chardronnet’s remix adds another level of tension to the track, finding a taut groove with a single note riff before the track opens up into a true peak-time monster.

'Little Ray', the third track of the release, sees Ripley getting heads down with the beats - a pulsating tech house bomb with firing percussion and hypnotic synth loops. Another sure-fire winner from Claire Ripley, destined to work magic on discerning dance floors this year.

24 mins in, the guest mix is so good. Fresh. Techy. Tough, Wonder how much of it is AFFKT, this doesn't sound like JVM at all.
