Control announces Autumn/Winter Line-Ups
For the past three months we have been following the progression of the newest music and dance venue to the city of Leeds as we have gained an insight into the ethos and the plans of the venue from some key figureheads within the Control camp. The wait is finally over – the venue is due to launch soon and the first few parties have now been announced.
The 3000+ capacity event space has been equipped with state of the art lighting, impeccable Funktion One sound, huge LED video walls, Geodome technology and a wide selection of other specialist equipment, positioning itself at the vanguard of the nightlife scene in the UK, ahead of their opening on Saturday 7th September.
Control kicks off its Autumn/Winter calendar on Friday 4th October as they welcome Ibiza hero Solomun and his Diynamic label to Leeds alongside fellow Diynamic friends H.O.S.H and Stimming. The Geodome is hosted by local label Love Not Money and headlined by Matt Fear who will be performing alongside label boss Luke Pompey, Rick Hirst and Dene Antony.
Skip forward a few weeks and we arrive at the venue’s next artist led event. Ibiza brand We Love lands in Control as multi genre madmen 2manydjs and French house legends Cassius take centre stage in the main room. And they aren’t stopping there as Greg Wilson, king of the re-edit, headlines the Geodome for a typically off kilter and multi-faceted soundscape alongside disco heavyweight The Revenge.
On Friday November 15th, the voice of Radio 1 Mr Pete Tong jets in to the city with Tensnake and Waifs & Strays in tow, as well a very special guest to be announced. This show is closely followed by fellowRadio 1 hotshot MistaJam on Friday 6th December as he brings hiscoveted Speakerbox brand to Control with a substantial line up consisting of Pendulum, Professor Green and Bigger Than Barry residents.
There are whispers that there are more events to be announced but, in the meantime, there is more than enough here to excite the hungry clubbers of Leeds.
