These mixes were all recorded, by me, onto cassette from Kiss FM. Many from Kiss 94 FM back in their pirate days, then from Kiss 100 FM when they went legal.
Admittedly, one or two of them aren’t actually mixes - they’re tracks that I recorded from various shows and joined together.
Some of the recording quality is appalling. Reception wasn’t always that good, especially in the pirate days. Some tracks have been spliced together, either by recording from tape to tape or by physically splicing. So apologies for the sound quality, but it does take me back to the days of sitting by the radio, finger on the pause button, listening to stuff that, literally, couldn’t be heard anywhere else..
I’ve tried to identify the DJ where I could. I used to edit the DJ’s talking out, though I regret this a little now. Sometimes I wrote the name of the DJ down, but not always.
Anyway - hopefully you’ll find something in here that you’ll enjoy or relate to. If not, it might help give you an idea of what House was like in the mid 80s - early 90s in London.
