    Perry Farrell

I have heard about Perry Farrell spinning, but have never heard any of his sets. I am under the assumption he is most likely not that good, and just doing it for publicity. Anyone out there hear or see him?

No but he played in detroit like 2 yrs ago. But I heard the opposite that said he was pretty good but still can't mix for shit but he gots the general idea down. Put yeah I agree wit you he is just doing for publicity. While some of us are jsut trying to get our foot in the door. People like him fuck it all up. Oh well that is hollywood.

I'm a big PF fan, so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. How much publicity is he getting from this if you only know about it through rumor and hearsay? The guy is a rock star, if he's DJ'ing a gig somewhere, I'd say it's because he loves music, digs the scene, and just wants to play some records.

That sucks if he's taking away a spot from a young up and comer, but those are the breaks. Show biz is a tough bitch... it's not what you know, it's who you know, remember? For every Zabilia, there are a dozen wankers with friends in the right places (myself included )

The solo album PF came out with before "Strays" was basically a Jane's album, but with tracks instead of a band. Cool stuff is you ask me, the guy appreciates our music and wants to be a part of it.
        Beats are my crack.

Yup. I saw him in march and it was exactly like that.
He had his super-hot asian stuck-up wife hanging
around him where ever he was. The tracks weren't
that bad, but the beats made me sick. Thus, Hot
new wife is cool, but should have stuck with Jane's
          Addiction.

Oh dont get me wrong, I am a fan of his also. Thats why I posed the question. I read about him dj-ing a while back, and really wondered if he still is or whatever. I know he has an appreciation for music, and has always put out good stuff.

DJ rule of thumb #1: make sure you can mix before you play in front of people.
