It's Amsterdam Dance Event this week, and on Thursday we'll be showcasing the sounds of the Ideal Audio label with Oliver Huntemann and Joran van Pol – who also releases on Richie Hawtin's Minus, and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC label.
First up on the bill is Hamburg's techno master and label boss Oliver Huntemann. With a stripped back, mechanical, yet inherently soulful sound, Huntemann has steadily become one of the most respected producers in techno. Over the years Oliver has collaborated extensively with Dubfire, in particuarly as part of their Elements series; the tracks 'Dios', 'Terra' and 'Fuego' are big club jams and part III of the series is out now. With his mad scientist appearance and gentlemanly charm, Oliver's charisma shines though in his work – no nonsense, gritty tracks that he creates to provide an insight to his personality, as well as pummelling a dancefloor.
Joining him will be Joran van Pol. One of the breakthrough talents of 2013, Joran's first EPs were signed to Richie Hawtin's Minus and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC. This all happened shortly after Joran’s track ‘Untitled 2’ was featured on Richie's Mixmag cover CD. There's a lot of hype around this kid, come see what all the fuss is about.
Ideal Audio has released records by the likes of Extrawelt and Pan Pot, as well as Huntemann's own critically acclaimed albums 'H-3' and 'Paranoia'. They celebrate their fifth birthday this year with the release of the 5ünf compilation.
