    Re: Fao: California members

The party in SF was incredible..

I still can't quite pinpoint what it is about his style that I like so much, but i am yet to see another live DJ performance that can come close to what he can do (at least from my own perspective), and i've only seen him 7 times.. two of which were Vagabond shows but still, not that's not all that many.

During this show in particular his sound had a really modern feel to it.. very complex.. clever electronic music that engages you mentally on a rather deep level which I didn't expect. It just made me feel like i was listening to something new that is pushing the boundaries of what EDM is today, and where its going.. something that I've never heard before.

The set fit right into the urban/tech groove of San Francisco.. I would close my eyes and it almost felt like if i would walk outside i will be walking on a street in the middle of London. We really don't get that kind of music here..

Either way, if you can catch him on his NAM tour.. do it.. he seems to be "on it", but then again from what I hear.. he is not off form all that often.

I was enjoying it way too much to be able to record any of it.. I only got 5-6 mins , here it is

I can't be 100% sure, but i think he played a few tracks from Versus.. Pig&Dan's Morphism sounds amazing on a proper sounds system.

Dope video and review, wish I had been there. Considering edc, Cassy, art dept and a few others I'd like to see.

It was fun while it lasted...

You will have a good time for sure.. you seem a bit hesitant because its a festival, but it will be fun

            It was really cool

But yes, he seems to come to Cali more often now so we might get another show in March before MWC kicks off

Cool, hope he comes back in March! I've seen Digweed a few times in LA, and from your review it seems like his sound is very different when he plays in SF. I've always heard that he changes the music he plays based on the location and venue but never had the chance to experience it for myself.

Looks like I very well may be working at the event! Which would be a win win for me.

I'm definitely working the both days, from like 11am - 12am... so I'll get the full spectrum of it all . sober though of course, which will be interesting. But to answer your question Rawr, I'll be representing Motorola, basically hanging out.

So this was my first time hearing him in an open air environment. Having see S&D at Coachella years ago, at least there it was in a tent which makes a big difference as far as sound is concerned. His set at EDC was a measly 60 minutes. Not nearly enough time for him to do his thing. His mix set was pretty good though, just sort of a strange juxtaposition with the TRAP and Trance sets that had been playing mostly.

posting a few random videos I took in a minute...

I still can't believe how loud this festival is in terms of the bass. It was just stupid bass heavy.
