    Release Notes:

    01. Shall Ocin - Blind To The Truth (Jozif Blinded Remix) [Leftroom Limited | LEFTLTD035]

Leftroom Ltd follow up the re-release of Landshark’s ‘Tie Me Up’ with ‘Blind To The Truth’ by Shall Ocin featuring remixes from Fist Or Finger man, Jozif.Shall Ocin made his debut on the Leftroom roster last summer on the Left’d sub-label before dropping the extremely well received ‘Tribute To Summertime’ on Leftroom in October. Since then the Argentinian producer has released EPs for Alive and LA’s Droog, furthering his rep.

‘Blind To The Truth’ sees Ocin delve further into his penchant for airy melodies, elastic basslines and funklaced grooves, turning in blissed out and melodic vocal infused track. ‘Breaking Chains feat Mireia’ is similarly funky but a slightly moodier and punchy affair due to some seriously weighty bass hooks. Jozif, an artist who has made his name with his collaborative label with Craig Richards and stand out releases for the likes of Droog and Leftroom, delivers two remixes of ‘Blind To The Truth’. His ‘Blind’ Remix focuses on the original’s bass work while his ‘Blinded’ remix strips things back to a lighter, subtler but equally as melodic tone.

    [Electric Plums Review]

Following on from their re-release of Landshark’s ‘Tie Me Up’ Leftroom next release is ‘Blind To The True’ by Shall Ocin featuring remixes from Fist Or Finger man, Jozif.

Shall Ocin made his debut on the Leftroom roster last summer on the Left’d sub-label before dropping the extremely well received ‘Tribute To Summertime’ on Leftroom in October. Since then the Argentinian producer has released EPs for Alive and LA’s Droog, furthering his rep.

    02. Viadrina - Lush Hour (Life's A BPitch EP) [BPitch Control | BPC 276]

In clubs and after hour parties, one can certainly philosophize about life. We do this time and time again. With Life`s a BPitch Viadrina not only takes the words out of our mouths, the duo also elates us with their exhilarating house sound. This will appeal to both the party animals and the more silent fellas on the dancefloor with notable elements of the genre and sets the whole place into a fantastic groove. The stellar track, Fallin` on the Where The Wind Blows compilation was Viadrinas introduction to BPitch Control. Now three new tracks add to their repertoire.Last Day brings an irresistible mixture of dazzling vocals and classic chords. Lush Hour goes deeper and more playful into their classic house influence. And Lost Soul just keeps rolling and rolling and rolling.

    [Discobelle Review]

Polish house ambassadors, Viadrina, come correct with their forthcoming release for the always on point, BPitch Recordings. The “Life’s A BPitch” EP opens with the deep, wobbly antics of ‘Last Day,’ which channels a modern take on classic UK garage sounds. ‘Lush Hour’ has a driving chug to it and smooth vocal snips while ‘Lost Soul’ is epic and arpeggiated.Solid stuff through out, surprised these fellows are just now catching my radar, especially with previous releases on Klasse and Pets Recordings and remixes courtesy of Jozif and Coat Of Arms.

    03. Jamie Stevens - The Wonder Of You [microCastle | MCSL031]

The next microCastle release is finally ready! It's with great pleasure that i'd like to announce Jamie Stevens first EP for the label. 'The Wonder of You' comes with 3 brand new original productions along with a remix from the one and only King Unique. I have to say that the lead track 'The Wonder Of You' is one of the most touching and emotive pieces of electronic music that i've heard in a very long time; so needless to say i'm thrilled to have it on microCastle. Above & Beyond showcased the track on their Group Therapy show a few weeks back and glowing support has come in from Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Marc Marzenit and Cid Inc.

    04. Pako & Frederik - Slack The Technique (John Debo Remix) [We Are Here Records | Promo]

'The Pako & Frederik is called Slack The Technique and is due out on Tini Tun's We Are Here imprint in Mexico sometime in December.' [John Debo]

    05. Derek Marin - I Like That Freq (Alexander Lissau Freq In Space Remix) [Superfreq | SFD009]

Hot on the heels of news of label boss Mr C playing live with Layo & Bushwacka! as The End Soundsystem in London on December 7th, Superfreq serve up their next EP. This one comes from a close and long time associate of the label and a 20-year veteran of the New York scene, namely Derek Marin, complete with standout remixes by Drumcode’s Alexi Delano and Alexander Lissau, fka Luke vB.

As well as running his own labels, Marin has appeared on an esteemed selection of other imprints including Plastic City and Thoughtless, and has countless techno missives in his essential back catalogue. With his two originals for Superfreq he embodies the label’s unhinged spirit perfectly at the same time as adding his own deeply unique spin on things.

Delightfully creepy Opener ‘I Like That Freq’ is a bulbous brew of one-finger bass notes, squelchy percussive rotations and alien echoes that comes right from the freaky dead of night. Some fat chords and heavily filtered vocals help embellish the track, as do some spraying sci-fi synth lines, but the groove remains ever present, ever infectious.

Swede and techno tastemaker Alexi Delano layers in his own melancholic piano keys and places the spraying synths front and centre, allowing them to tare across the face of his measured and militant deep house rhythm.

Alexander Lissau is better and formerly known as Superfreq associate Luke vB. The lauded DJ goes even freakier with his great remix, stripping it to a raw kick and bounce inflected with rising scales played on what sounds like a glass, with watery trails leading off in the background and some beautifully tense melody work in the latter half.

Finally, Marin’s ‘We Bide Our Time’ is a patient, loose-limbed groove with eerie sonic whispers that eventually explodes into a brew of tense synth lines and robo-funk loops.

Ever on its own on the odder fringes of electronic music, Superfreq producers old and new all come good here with another superb package.

    06. Pig & Dan and Rachel Lyn - This Is Not Love [Terminal M Records | TERM106]

Exactly 2 years after their first Terminal M release the techno duo is back on Monika Kruse's imprint with a great follow up. With the help of their friend and great newcomer dj/producer Rachel Lyn this release should definitely be in their long line of successful club bombs conquering charts and dj sets worldwide for Pig&Dan.

    07. Public Service Broadcasting - Night Mail (Ben Gomori Redux 12" Version) [Test Card Recordings | TCRVS03]

Limited to 1000. Heavyweight 180 gram vinyl and 7 track download card with bonus mixes. 'Night Mail' is released as a special edition 12" EP, featuring two extended mixes. Ben Gomori takes the original and twists it into an altogether funkier beast, while Baltic Fleet take their mix into Flying Lotus territory with heavy synth washes before bursting out into a late night electro jam. The radio edit of the original finishes off the set - limited to 1,000 copies and sure to be a collectors' item.

Ben Gomori is an eclectically minded house producer & DJ with releases for the likes of Nurvous, Purp & Soul, Baker Street Recordings, Sleazy Deep and Anjunadeep plus his acclaimed re-edits series have helped him to make a mark on the production side of things after a decade DJing in some of the world’s most legendary clubs and festivals.

The tail end of 2012 saw Annie Mac make his Jai Paul Re-Edit her Foundcloud Track Of The Week on BBC Radio 1, while the Guardian Music blog chose his Dan Croll remix as their track of the month for the Music Alliance Pact. Remixes for X-Press 2, Kris Menace & Chelonis R. Jones & Chapel Club are also in the bag, with an EP for UNER’s Paulatine Records, two releases on New York's Stranjjur and a track on Asadinho's RvS imprint on the way in Autumn 2013.

Support from Droog, Time & Space Machine, Pharao Black Magic, Chris Fortier, Sian, Jody Wisternoff, Tom Novy, Nick Warren, Psychemagik, Danny Tenaglia, Tony Humphries, Pincer Movement and Ralph Myerz.

    Released by: Test Card Recordings
    Release/catalogue number: TCRVS03
    Release date: Nov 4, 2013

    08. Carlo Lio & Harvey McKay - Droid Decay [Bedrock Records | Promo]

Toronto Native, Carlo Lio returns to Bedrock following his Versus collaboration to team up with Soma's Harvey McKay.

Harvey McKay has emerged from Glasgow’s underground clubbing scene to become one of the hottest prospects in electronic music today. From his breakthrough track 'Nightwalker' on Soma Records - which quickly garnered massive support from Richie Hawtin, becoming his most played track for 6 months – Harvey has built a reputation for one-off originals, killer remixes with DJ sets that travel from deep driving house to powerful techno but always with a dark energetic party signature sound.

Since then, Harvey's career has gone from strength to strength, gaining support from Adam Beyer, Stephan Bodzin, Laurent Garnier, Michael Mayer, Luke Slater, Slam and Green Velvet.

Although he is never one to be pigeonholed by genre, his very unique driving sound is there throughout all his productions. From the jacking tech house sound of summer hit ‘Show Face’ on Saved Records, to the deep powerful techno of ‘Supercell’ on Drumcode and his house tracks on Soma Records - Harvey is never afraid to vary the style and vibe of his productions, always experimenting sonically.

With releases on Drumcode, Soma, Saved, Trapez & 8-Sided Dice and now Bedrock, with further EPs and a string of huge remixes confirmed, Harvey is set to continue crafting his individual techno sound that he has become known and respected for.

Used to love Deep Mariano's sets, but he's gone completely off the rails. Plays a super deep & slow style now, have no interest what so ever for it.
